  1. Difficult to believe a show like that could be any good.
  2. I think one can recognaize that a band is really crappy and still enjoy the music. For example, I listen to a bit of Fuel (they suck, although not as badly as LP), knowing they're not that good of musicians, their sound is pretty generic, their lyrics aren't exactly good or all that original. Doesn't really mean I must therefore stop listening to Fuel.
  3. I wouldn't doubt it.
  4. this is true Not a chance. He's got virtually no range. He's got his normal voice, and his scream. Hardly any emotion in it all, even in the screaming.
  5. Wonder how long it is until they make a movie about it..
  6. They seem to lack a real stage presense, to me they seem kind of poorly coordinated and it's uninteresting to watch them perform.
  7. I wasn't actually bashing them in this case, just that when compared with other rock performances, their shows aren't as entertaining or exciting. A concert should be more than just the band getting out in front of everyone and playing the music. If they just play the music, then you may as well just listen to it on your CD player at home. This is something Linkin Park fails to grasp for the most part.
  8. What surprised me is just how dark some of their lyics are. I mean for most people who've heard or seen the videos to Float On or The Ocean Breathes Salty, you'd get the idea that they're a pretty happy-go-lucky band. So when I started buying their older CD's, I was surprised (somewhat pleasantly) that there was actually some dark subject matter, songs like Night On the Sun or Cowboy Dan for example. Good stuff.
  9. I've seen a few of their concerts, my sister insisted that I watch because she's a huge fan and wishes I were one also. Can't say I enjoyed it even a little bit. Such a weak and anemic performance.
  10. I liked this movie, one of the best war films I've ever seen.
  11. I think there are "levels" of selling out, some of which are more tolerable than others. I should make it into a chart or pyramid or something when I get the chance. I think first off it depends on how much of an "appearance" in the commercial is made. Also the nature of the appearance, are the artists actually performing in the ad, or are they delivering a testimonial, or shown using the product or some combination of those. If it's just the music playing, the artists themselves don't show up in the commercials, then it's not so big a deal. What's worse is if the artists actually appear in the commercial. The worst thing is if the artists either re-write existing (or create) lyrics actually about the product they're selling. After that goes into account, once can considering the product being sold. Take for example those "Sidekick" commercials with Snoop Dogg. It's a relatively cheap product, that he probably doesn't use in real life. That's different I think, than appearing in a commercial for a product that's of actual quality or that the artists do use and believe in. I think I've brought this up before, but it helps to illustrate the point. A recent Mercedes car commercial featured a short clip of an instrumental version of a Rammstein song playing in the background. It wasn't Rammstein promoting the product, none of the members appeared in the commercials, nor were their vocals even used. Most people who saw the commercial probably didn't know whose music it was that was playing. Something like that is barely selling out at all. To conrast that, we have the rapper whose name I forgot, who rapped about Gatorade for a commercial. That's probably the lowest form; when the product is obviously cheap, when they actually appear in the commercial, and go so far as to writer lyrics about the product.
  12. "Another Space Song" - Failure
  13. Big Fish
  14. "Willful Suspension Of Disbelief" - Modest Mouse
  15. Damn, if I'd known these bands were on the OC, I would've watched... well probably not...oh well..
  16. Really?? I heard it was really scary
  17. They're pretty good, "Jenny Was A friend of Mine" is probably their best song; or rather my favorite, which in turn, makes it their best.
  18. Good movie, makes me take Foxx more seriously as an actor.
  19. You must be the skinny jealous type. Not really, I'm of proper weight for my height.
  20. Yeah, that was the one.
  21. Voted Star Wars, cuz of Darth Vader..
  22. I certainly didn't notice him if he was, IMDb also doesn't list him as being in it....
  23. Alright, it starts off in a Jewish ghetto in Nazi-occupied Poland. Jakob Heim (sp?) (Robin Williams) accidentally overhears a news report over a German's radio (radios were forbidden for Jews, if they are found with one, they were killed). Jakob tells a man he works with that he heard something about the Russians coming to liberate Poland over the radio. The man gets the wrong idea and thinks Jakob actually owns a radio, and word spreads quickly about it. Because he's under so much pressure from his fellow Jews for updates, Jakob starts making up fictitious news broadcasts from his non-existent radio for his comrades. As time passes he has to come up with more intricate, bizarre, yet optimistic news stories, there's of course the dramatic ending that I don't wanna spoil.
  24. Another movie I rented and saw recently. I thought it was kind of strange, but pretty good overall. Robin Williams does well in this one. Anyone else see it or care to share an opinion??
  25. We're all quick to knock it, and for obvious reasons. But wouldn't it it be freaky if it was actually good?? Teehee.... such a notion is probably a sign of the coming of armaggedon.
