To me there didn't seem to be a deliberately strong lean in either direction. I think of the most important ideas stressed in there is political objectivity, and having an idea of what's right and wrong regardless of political climate.
Never quite got why they can't seem to end a show with dignity in so many cases. It's like the Simpsons, where it just drags on and on, even though it stopped being funny years ago. I'm sure practically no one out there thinks the show is as good and as funny as it's ever been.
I find it hilarious that it seems the vast majority of the time, the covers of Depeche Modes songs are better than the originals. Failure's "Enjoy The Silence" or Rammstein's "Stripped" for instance.
