It's good the US is doing relatively crappily. Since most of you don't live in the states, you don't have to put up with those "We're America, and our athletes will own everyone at everything!" commercials that they run all the time. I just think it's so neat that they're doing so badly after all of the premature boasting.
Some of my favorite lyrics have been from Modest Mouse. There's a whole lot of angry bitterness, but given the guy's background, it's somewhat justifiable. Always enjoyed that the music could be blunt, yet poetic. And then all the ones where ya wonder what the hell he's talking about, those are just fun.
I think it does. Even I sometimes feel a little resentment towards rich douchebags in expensive cars. Although I understand it's not (always) them trying to compensate for deficiency in manhood or hair, to me it seems like they've misguided aspirations; they're often times just materialists, and I've difficulty respecting that.
I think it's all pretty good stuff, the Jangolier is my favorite of the bunch, when not including the 2 tracks which were available on NF before the rest became available. Overall, I think Message to God is the best.
I'd never wanna drive that nice or expensive of a car. My older brother got one, and in weeks before he could get the garage cleaned out, he lost sleep on most nights thinking someone was going to steal it or do something to it while it was in the driveway. Periodically, he would ask me to make sure it's still there. That's pretty stupid I think, the car is not really much more practical than mine (aside from being a 4-door and thus roomier) but it cost more than twice as much. But I've never had to worry about parking it somewhere and coming back to find an empty spot.
