  1. Wow, it's fantastic! A question: I know the tour will be Matt playing Beautiful Midnight from front to back, but will it be the original versions of the songs or the remakes? Personally I hope to hear the remakes, but I know that many people might possibly be confused if they didn't know about the remakes and went in expecting the CD! I don't care much either way, I'm just happy hearing it all live.
  2. After I entered the right code, 2 tickets showed up front-row (A section), as someone else must have backed out and not finalized.
  3. It wouldn't surprise me that ticketmaster or the venue have messed with it in order to get good seats and then resell them for higher amounts. I hate the Canadian concert system. It's like when The Tragically Hip sold tickets, and less than 20% of tickets to the shows were actually sold to people on the actual ticketing site, the rest were scalped or "re-sold" by ticketmaster.
  4. Someone has the code because dozens of seats have already sold! This is ridiculous. I have to travel 8 hours to see this show because the Saskatoon show doesn't have appropriate seating for my gf who has MS. So I need to get front-row so that she can sit when she needs to (can't stand for the whole show). If I can't get good seats, then the show will likely be ruined as there will be nowhere for us to sit and see. I am livid. Why would the code be different, and how are people still buying if it is!?
  5. I need help ASAP! The Enoch(Edmonton) pre-sale password is NOT midnight or NEWWAVE or SETLIST! Does anyone know what it would be? ALL the front-row seats are selling out! WTF! How can other people be buying it, the official site says the code is midnight! But it's not working! Fuck!
  6. Also one more question: where do we go for the presale? Are they on sale already?
  7. The Saskatoon show is general admission-only, but I have a few questions. My gf has MS (Multiple Sclerosis) and as a result can't stand or walk for long periods of time. As a result we wouldn't be able to stand in line for 2 hours to get good seats, nor would she be able to probably stand for the entire show to see the band. However, she is not in a wheelchair. What should I do in a situation like this? If we had a show where there was assigned seating, I'd just make sure to get something with good sight-lines...but I can't in this case. And the Saskatoon venue kind of sucks, in terms of the crowd (loud, drunk, etc). I'd prefer not to, but can anyone recommend the Edmonton venue for us in this case? The Saskatoon one doesn't even have handicap seating as far as I can see, so no luck there for a good place to sit and watch. We went to Winnipeg for the last tour (Burt Cummings Theatre) and we had great seats in the aisle, and Matt even came and stood right beside her and sang Army of Lions. I'd hate to go from that to a drunk crowded concrete floor where we will be jostled with nowhere good to sit.
  8. So the moral of the story is not to order from them.
  9. Well he's been to Regina since then, as well as Saskatoon. Winnipeg songs (the middle is not in the correct order, but the first handful are, and the last song, and the encore) All you sons and daughters No liars A single explosion Moment Born losers Cold Waters Load me up (everyone stood up at this point, and remained for the rest of the show, really good energy, with a bunch crowding up to the stage) Alert Status Red Army of lions (went into the crowd and stood right beside my gf and I, we were on aisle seats at the 5th row). Los alamos Everything is automatic Advertising on police cars Apparitions Weapon Cloudbusting Kid down the well Hello time bomb Giant Great show, he looked like he was having fun. Horrible couple was behind us, the girl was talking the entire first few songs before she snuck up to the front of the stage. In Alert status red, Stu's guitar cut out and a sound tech had to come on and try to fix it, and Matt knelt down beside them and sort of pretended to be bored, and we got a little drum and bass duo until they got it working. Highlight was probably Cloudbusting, which is amazing live. Los Alamos was also cool. And Single Explosion was great. Was sad I didn't get to hear Harridan, but the show was great! Bought a few things as well, the toques are pretty nice! EDIT - And before the encore started, there were probably a good 25-40 people (us included) chanting "K-I-C-K-A-S-S, that's the way you spell success!" and clapping for probably 5 minutes straight, it was awesome!
  10. Quick question: How long after the "start" time does Matthew Good start? Because the Winnipeg show starts at 8 i think, but my gf's medical condition means she runs out of energy pretty fast (MS) so I don't want us getting there too early and have her get tired. Any help? It's assigned seating so we can get there right before he starts if we need to.
  11. Yeah that's an amazing list. I really hope he plays Police Cars in Winnipeg!
  12. I really hope that I get to hear Harridan...I'm nervous now because it looks like it will be a song that cycles!
  13. I like standing at concerts, but I also hate being the only one to stand and having people behind me complain. It's a tough balance. All it takes is the first few rows to stand to get everyone else to do it...but sometimes triggering that is hard. One Our Lady Peace I went to a few years back had a guy who got out of his seat and ran back and forth at the front of the theatre and pumped everyone up, making people stand up before they came on. So when they came on it was 3 hours of really high energy, it was awesome. It was the "Evening with OLP" tour, where they did 2 sets, the first being an entire CD (Clumsy, in this show), and then a second 18-song setlist after a short break. It was incredible.
  14. Make sure to post setlists here if you go, guys/girls! Dang, if I knew someone else from Regina was going to the Saskatoon AOD show I would have asked a favour. I had a VIP ticket for the show but was incredibly ill that weekend and couldn't make the drive, so I never got any of my VIP merchandise, and of course I couldn't get a refund on the ticket. I've tried to contact them (at the time) to get my merch mailed to me somehow if possible, but never heard back from anyone. I wonder if I could have given you my ticket for them to give you my stuff. Sucks that I spent like $150 or whatever and never got a show or anything else. :(
  15. I'll be driving from Regina to Winnipeg, but we're leaving the day before so hopefully there won't be any problems. My girlfriend has MS so we'll be trying to plan our time wisely to make sure she has a good amount of energy for the concert. So unfortunately I don't think we can really try to take part in the contest and all that, or go to the soundcheck. But I'm happy we'll get to see him this tour, and that she is able to come with me. :)
  16. I have it on good authority that Matt will be using one of these instead:
  17. I can't speak for the venue costs in Saskatchewan, but the shows I've been to of his (Vancouver tour and Lights tour) he had a lot of people there, probably 700-1000 at Vancouver (in large theatre) and 300-400 at the club venue (was maxed out). On the whole album vs playlist thing, I understand where Matt and other purists are coming from, but I disagree to an extent. I think the only reason we put albums up on a podium is because it's the way it's been done for so long and the industry was restricted by it. If vinyls or CDs had been 100x cheaper or had 100x more space we would have seen different types of releases, but we didn't because we were limited by the medium. But now there are no limitations, so there are different models. Sometimes I enjoy listening to a whole album front to back...and other times I only like 2 songs out of 12, so I only ever listen to those. There is nothing inherently wrong with one approach or another.
  18. Yeah it sucks living in a place not at the front-end of the tour, in terms of merch.
  19. I'd actually be really mad if Regina ever got a show now that I bought tickets for Winnipeg, haha.
  20. If I had to give an initial rank of songs, it would probably be something like: Top tier: Kid Down the Well Harridan Army of Lions Tiger by the Tail Mid tier: Cloudbusting Cold Water (would have been higher with more demo-ey sound) Los Alamos (would have been higher with more demo-ey sound) Bottom tier: All You Sons and Daughters Girls in Black (I love love the bridge though) No Liars Moment This doesn't mean I don't like the songs at the bottom, just that they do as much for me as the top ones. I probably won't listen to them that much. Was never a big fan of Moment for some reason, and the 3 "rockers" on the CD don't stand out to me (No Liars and Girls in Black kind of remind me of Fought to Fight It from Vancouver, in that they are more up-tempo and are rock songs...but are just missing something unique to hook me). It's just personal taste though, there's always going to be songs that someone doesn't like. But overall the album is great with a lot of really strong songs, and really great production. As to the question of why I would rate a demo higher than the studio version, it's because of emotion. Los Alamos and Cold Water seemed much more emotional in the demos. Another great example of low-quality tracks being amazing just on their emotional value would be Whispering in the Dark or Dancing Invisible. I also preferred the ambient sounds for Cold Water in the demo more, compared to the newer guitar stuff added into the studio version. I'm not trying to sound negative though, just explaining why I preferred the demo over the final version.
  21. Yeah Cold Water and Los Alamos were better in their rougher form. Still not bad, but not classics compared to the demos I think.
  22. He's not having problems getting a ticket, just specifically a ticket in the pit. But honestly man, the longer you wait the more good seats will be sold. Get something in the first 10 rows and you will be golden!
  23. I preferred the Cold Water demo, I don't know why. And yeah Army of Lions is cool. I enjoy Harridan a lot too, though I wish it was a bit longer like the demo. But it's got a good punch to it, and I love the bridge.
  24. Army of Lions is up on the app now. Very very different from the demo, probably the most different of all the songs. I like it though. Much more of a modern rock sound (steady driving beat). Different than his usual sound, but cool. I think after a bunch of listens that Kid Down the Well is my favourite. Not a huge fan of any of the singles, but I like the rest of the album a lot. I agree that rich would be the word to describe the mixing.
