New Barenaked Ladies!
soundless_space replied to Prometheon's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
What does it sound like? Regular old-BNL? I don't like the stuff they did after Maroon. I'm wondering if I should pick it up. For some reason I'm afraid I'll be disappointed. -
I would love to hear Metal Airplanes. Aaaand where does one hear this Mind Gap? ;)

How Did You React When You Heard Mgb Broke Up?
soundless_space replied to Hyphnip's topic in Matthew Good
Baha, I remember that site. I used to go there all the time. -
The Mars Volta !

Seriously. There are about three Mars Volta threads just on the first page of this forum. But maybe if this band was any good I wouldn't mind. ;) -
How Did You React When You Heard Mgb Broke Up?

I remember being fairly shocked, but I kind of knew Matt would pursue his own thing, so it wasn't that big of a deal to me. -

The Miniatures

This doesn't mention anything about Pilate, but it also does not mention anything about The Miniatures: http://www.chartattack.com/DAMN/2003/04/1612.cfm Whatever. I don't know why I'm trying to prove this to you anyway. ;) -
The Miniatures
soundless_space replied to c0rl0's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
I don't think so. Friday April 11th, 2003 at the Kool Haus. Maybe I'm going insane? I don't know. Haha. I know I was not the only one who went to this show. So if anyone out there can confirm my insanity, that'd be good. -
What Do You Do When The Weekend Is Here?
soundless_space replied to Ryan44's topic in Open Discussion
To go square dancing on Thursday nights? Whoo. No thanks. And actually I live in Willamsville which means it's even more of a pain in the ass to go downtown. The only good artists they've ever had come to Club Infinity is Matt Good, and um. Matt Good. -
What Do You Do When The Weekend Is Here?
soundless_space replied to Ryan44's topic in Open Discussion
Haha, never! But I'm sure if I made a request for a weekend off every once in a while it wouldn't be an issue. I guess I need the money now anyway. I don't like to go out anyway, really. Coffee shops and things like that are fine with me. Not that there are any cool clubs in Buffalo. ;) -

Cole, how the hell do you manage to get weekends off in the food business? Lucky. -
The Miniatures
soundless_space replied to c0rl0's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
Yeah, it must have been because I went to the Toronto show. But I definitely saw them perform before The Dears. -

I generally work. Stay up late doing nothing. Then get up early the next day to work. Exciting, eh? -
New Volta!

Do they even get airplay of any sort? Videos, radio, whatever? I don't think I've ever seen or heard them in the "mainstream." -
The Miniatures
soundless_space replied to c0rl0's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
I thought Pilate and The Dears opened for Matt on the Avalanche tour? Or maybe that was just the Toronto show I went to...? Eh, whatever. To stay on topic, I don't really like The Miniatures. Broken Flowers is an okay song, but I think it could be spiffed up a little or something. It's too repetitive. Is the rest of their music library worth checking out? -
Last.fm?
soundless_space replied to Some Random's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
I've got an account there, but I don't get how it's supposed to be used? Maybe I'm stupid, but when I search an artist I like, it always says their music isn't available on Last.fm yet. I don't know, I joined once on a whim and I didn't really spend a lot of time figuring it out, so maybe I'll have to go back and try it again. -

I love the name of the band! It might be enough motivation for me to find out what the music sounds like. -
Yeah, same here Owen. I think the only place I'd have any luck finding Matt Good anything is online.

You can have my job.

I never minded it. I thought it was cute. ;) Anyway, thanks for the live version.

Besides those two: It's Been a While Since I Was Your Man Song For the Girl Truffle Pigs The Fine Art Of Falling Apart And I've never really known about the "meaning" behind The Rat Who Would Be King, but I would consider it romantic.
-
Exactly what I was thinking. Hah.

I remember seeing that a while ago... anyway from the detailing, it looks as if you would have to have a lot of time on your hands to acheive something like that in Photoshop. Unless there is some sort of generator, but I've never seen one.

I would dare with you. I love that CD. Every song on it is amazing. I'm always surprised to see how many people don't know about them...
