  1. Phew. I thought I was the only one with this problem. I agree.
  2. Hah, I was recommended this movie because I work in the food industry. I hope everyone realizes it was completely over-done and none of that stuff actually happens in restaurants. Other than that. Ryan Reyonalds really does play the exact same character in every movie he's in. I wish that him being hot made it exusable, but it doesn't.
  3. Alright then. I'm blaming Bob Rock. Bob Rock fucking sucks. I don't understand why bands want to work with him. Or why he gets paid to do what he does. The thing with Spiritual Machines for me was that it was more accessible than the other albums, but it was sill OLP. With Gravity, it was like where the hell did all the creativity go? I still wonder what the music would be like if Mike had stayed in the band.
  4. I have to admit I like all of their albums. Even Gravity. But the best stuff was still everything before Gravity. Who produced Paranoid in Healthy Times? I thought that one was produced by Bob Rock as well. Anyway. Arnold Lanni was obviously more adventurous when it came to producing. For some reason, I always thought if Mike Turner had stayed in the band, he wouldn't have let Gravity happen. But then I realized that was stupid. I just needed to blame someone for Gravity. Because it was ridiculous.
  5. I'm only doing the full-lengths, too. It doesn't seem to make sense to include the EPs. The Audio Of Being Avalanche Beautiful Midnight White Light Rock and Roll Review Underdogs Last of the Ghetto Astronauts I didn't want to make LOTGA last, but it sort of came out that way.
  6. Eh, I don't see what all the fuss is about The Mars Volta. I'd say Sigur Ros = Radiohead. I both of them are fantastic, I don't know which is better. I like everything Radiohead has done. But I love the earlier stuff the best.
  7. I just saw The Devil Wears Prada. I liked it.
  8. Yep. Angels and Airwaves is good background music. Whether that is a good thing or a bad thing, I do not know.
  9. Oh yeah. I forgot about the Black Eyed Peas. Probably because I don't really consider them to be much of a "band" in the first place.
  10. I love those videos. I wish I knew how to get such fantastic quality when recording live stuff.
  11. Hm. I'll say Near Fantastica. It's between that or Blue Skies Over Badlands.
  12. This one's easy for me - War is Over.
  13. Thanks! I appreciate the longer version.
  14. It's very nice. I like the vocals especially.
  15. Oo, lovely. I wonder what show it's from.
  16. I like their music. It's good to listen to while driving. *Ducks*
  17. Why not speculate? Obviously when people go through hard times in their lives, they need a place to turn to, and I think Matt turns to his music. I hope it gives Matt more inspiration to write fabulous songs. I don't really care if he goes back to the old style or if he goes into something completely different. It'll be interesting to see what he does either way.
  18. Oo, full-length videos. Fantastic. I hate those 30-second clips everyone puts up. Thanks so much for uploading these.
  19. I don't know why, but this line from the Inescapable Us always sticks out in my mind: "And what it spills is fate, looking our way"
  20. "Ed"! You know, with Tom Cavanaugh? Did anyone else besides me watch that show? I loved it.
  21. This message board is going to take some getting used to. Why do you say that, Jason? I'd love to know the reasoning behind that statement. I'm not saying he's the best, but he's certainly not the worst.
  22. Fearless. For me this is no competition. That song is so much better than Symbolistic White Walls.
  23. I love lyrics that The Shins write. "The Past and Pending" As someone sets light to the first fire of autumn We settle down to cut ourselves apart. Cough and twitch from the news on your face And some foreign candle burning in your eyes Held to the past too aware of the pending Chill as the dawn breaks and finds us up for sale. Enter the fog another low road descending Away from the cold lust, you house and summertime. Blind to the last cursed affair pistols and countless eyes A trail of white blood betrays the reckless route your craft is running Feed till the sun turns into wood dousing an ancient torch Loiter the whole day through and lose yourself in lines dissecting love. Your name on my cast and my notes on your stay Offer me little but doting on a crime. We've turned every stone and for all our inventions In matters of love loss, we've no recourse at all. Blind to the last cursed affair pistols and countless eyes A trail of white blood betrays the reckless route your craft is running Feed till the sun turns into wood dousing an ancient torch Loiter the whole day through and lose yourself in lines dissecting love.
  24. I probably shouldn't be, but I'm always surprised to hear how many people think The Beatles are overrated. I completely disagree, but apparently there are more people that think this than I ever thought imaginable.
