  1. Your Porn Star Name is dusty james Your Blues Singer Name is down bush Your Punk Rock Band is called the dodgy nuts Your name as an extra in "Star Wars" is gynomite the lamp lamp come to think of it, those are all good ;)
  2. when i get old - descendents
  3. nah. snap judgements make things easier. edit: there's no way i woulda given them a chance back then. their first album came out at the ass end of grunge and i'd already moved on to my new love: punk rock.
  4. i've never listened to silverchair. i remember when they came out i heard a soundbite of them and i thought they sounded like a rip off of helmet. then i heard how young they were and couldn't take them seriously. 15 is too young to be singing grunge with any life experience to back it up.
  5. top five bands/musicians i want to see live: 1 matthew good (i've missed him 3 times that i know of) 2 nine inch nails 3 the slackers 4 incubus 5 tool
  6. silver and gold - joe strummer and the mescaleros (side note: didn't recognize that metric track, so i looked it up and i'm now a half hour away from hearing an album i didn't know existed. shweet.)
  7. less talk, more rock - propagandhi
  8. maybe it was his rugged good looks?
  9. 9.5/10 for the additional .5, the knife would have to have been replaced with bees that came out of its mouth when it barked(?).
  10. but you have internet. i think itunes sells the episodes for a buck a piece. and a shadier person would be able to find them floating around for free i'm sure.
  11. i am indeed. dancing hitler and everything. it's good to see hitler cuttin loose like that, cuz man...what an uptight prick.
  12. i'm not a trews fan. they're good, just not my thing. i don't get the sloan sound from them though. yuck...sloan. best thing they ever did was leave here. they'd probably agree for totally different reasons.
  13. weight of the world - good riddance
  14. i'm surprised no one's mentioned scott weiland. stone temple pilots got lumped in with 'grunge' in the beginning. he's a phenominal singer and it's too bad he's wasting his voice on shite like velvet revolver.
  15. He has two actually there is a double disc of live at the Montreux Jazz Festival 1982 & 1985. Plus during the first disc the crowd BOOs him after every song, which is sad because he is an amazing guitar player. In the 1985 disc however they love him because he is more established. It just goes to show that some people cannot accept pure talent if they haven't heard any of the artisits songs on the radio i've heard about him being booed at montreux. snobby idiots. i have the live at el maocambo dvd on my computer, but i don't have any live albums, just a few random live songs on the end of his albums. actually, i listened to "live without you" on the end of 'in step' last night for the first time where he stops half way through and gives a speech about how glad he is to be alive and recovered. that put a huge lump in my throat.
  16. take that as a compliment. it means your taste is too hip for the masses. probably has more to do with record companies or something, but that's what i like to think. i noticed matthew good isn't available on last.fm.
  17. i like that song too. i think i read somewhere that it was just a filler, but hell, for a filler it's none too bad.
  18. bought their first cd based on loving the song "orca" (which i still love). i was hugely dissappointed in the rest. i've only heard one song off their second cd and it sounded horrible , like a band trying to sound as 'indie' as possible. nova scotia has had much better exports in recent years, including matt mays and el torpedo, joel plaskett, and the trews.
  19. exit music (for a film) - radiohead
  20. i need one in a bad way.
  21. stevie ray vaughan has a live album and i don't have it? i must correct this oversight.
  22. deep down trauma hounds - skinny puppy
  23. you aren't by any chance also borntohula on last.fm? if you are you're one of my neighbour folk.
  24. I totally agree, that song really does stand out on the CD. Mike McCready is one of the most underrated gutiarist, his playing on Temple of the Dog, and in Pearl Jam is some of the best guitar work. he also played with "mad season", the super group with layne staley on vocals and a couple other guys from the seattle scene. you've probably heard of them if you've heard of temple of the dog.
  25. i dunno...i use it cuz it's built into amarok. i guess i like 'representin' my music too. i've found that most of the recommendations have been bands i already have stuff by and just haven't listened to since i started using it, or bands i have heard and detest. i sift through my neighbors stuff too once in a while too looking for hidden gems. i'm more apt to find new stuff that way i think, cuz a computer program is gonna have a hell of a time figuring out my taste.
