  1. top five golf clubs: 1. xbox controller
  2. eraser (denial:realization) - nine inch nails
  3. Hahaha, that's crazy! Funny that I said a 5 year old could play that and it's exactly what Jack wants... And comparing her to Bonham? What the frig were they thinking? The only guy I can think of off the top of my head that does anything close is the guy from Tool. And Bonham's son, I've heard. The bootlegs were good, but I didn't really care for the songs themselves. I really only like some White Stripes, I guess. don't get me wrong, i like tool alot, and i haven't seen them live so i don't know if he improvises or does solos or whatever, but after seeing john bonham's solo in "moby dick" on the zep live dvd set, i don't think i've heard anyone come close to him.
  4. "foundation" by john butler trio just made the list. wow.
  5. "foundation" just blew my mind. the hair on my arms is standing up. i can't wait to listen the the rest of his stuff i got. especially the live stuff.
  6. any listeners? just found about john butler today. best thing to come out of australia since the didgeridoo. here's the wiki page on him. better explanation than i could give. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Butler_%28musician%29
  7. i think it does exist in perpetuity now. something to do with disney and mickey mouse.
  8. found it. gw feb. 06 interview with jack white and jimmy page: gw:both of you have worked with drummers that have a great primal energy. do you feel you needed them to balance the cerebral qualities that you bring to your work? jack: absolutely. to quote picasso again, he said that he worked all his life so he could paint like a five year old. meg plays with the spirit and naive enthusiasm of a five year old, and i wish i could, too. i couldn't play drums like her if i wanted to, because the technical side of my brain would take over. you couldn't find someone to play with the same naive quality that meg has. i've even begged meg not to practice! i must have read somewhere else that he also taught her how to play, but i don't know where that was. on a personal note, i can't believe they were comparing john bonham and jimmy page to jack white and meg white, but yeah, there you go. jack likes her suckiness.
  9. i wish i could remember where i read it. i'm pretty sure it was in a written interview. don't think it was a tv thing. i'll look through my guitar world's.
  10. i read in a magazine article somewhere (maybe guitar world) that jack white taught her drums. he likes the fact that she sucks for the raw sound it creates (my words, his ideas).
  11. that would be my favorite song. right now, it's "life beyond the minimum safe distance". that'd be a good one to go out on. it changes alot, though. it's usually a matthew good song.
  12. i like minerva and battle axe off of their last one. can't remember if i like the rest. i know i hate the songs where chino screams instead of singing. i haven't listened to adrenaline in years, so i don't know if i'd still like it.
  13. i'll give it a listen when it comes out. around the fur is still my favorite.
  14. 10/10. don't know what it's actually from, but it looks like kirk hammett about to hit himself with a hammer and that's a great mental image.
  15. and how about the law student? i mean, sure, they might start out as an arts student, but then they move on to the real meat and potatoes of the actual law degree: ritualistic sacrifice, demonic chanting, and vampirism.
  16. moon over marin - dead kennedys
  17. can't we all, as science and arts graduates/future graduates, come together as one to focus our disdain on business students? ;)
  18. cool. aside from every nin song, i haven't heard any of those. i've also got a ton of miles davis that's great but i honestly couldn't put a name to a song if someone through on a miles davis record. i probably couldn't even tell him from other trumpet players. i just wanted some jazz for when the mood hit me so i downloaded a bunch of his early stuff.
  19. i'll be surprised when the top story of the day is something about a man rampaging through such and such a place showering flowers and candy on all.
  20. what are your instrumental songs. any genre. i'm partial to the rock and or roll, so, for right now anyway, my two favorites are "sahib teri bandimaki madni" by derek trucks and "lenny" by stevie ray vaughan.
  21. once again, the media is turning my stomach. they had to list the 'hateful' bands he listened to and give violent video games honorable mention. gee, maybe the problem was mental illness and oblivious parents. maybe they should be questioning how somebody who was obviously that disturbed got his hands on a restricted weapon.
  22. keanu reeves is perfect for roles like johnny utah and bill or ted (whichever one he was). hard to take him seriously as anything else.
  23. i'd stomp a fluffy little bunny for bill murray if he so desired.
  24. if bill murray is against it, then i'm against it.
  25. oops...bumble bee. i forgot the bee. the bee is important.
