So I'm listening to the 20+ minute demo of Something Like a Storm for the first time in a while, and i forgot how much i like it. If Matt puts it on the new album I'm sure it won't be 20 minutes long, but it would be cool if there was an extended bonus version, maybe an iTunes exclusive or something.

I want to go see The Head and the Heart in december, in Vancouver, but i need to find someone to bring first.

I'll have to check this out. Sidebar: any word on whether or not Darling will ever come to spotify? I bought LOES on itunes so I've got my copy, but I mostly use spotify and there's an empty spot on a number of playlists where Darling should be!

What did you end up doing? I don't own a vehicle at the moment and I don't really need one because I just take the skytrain to work in Vancouver everyday. I'm thinking about buying something used though, like an old truck just for camping, hiking and snowboarding. I'll probably wait until next spring though since summer is almost over.

http://theconversation.com/why-do-only-some-people-get-skin-orgasms-from-listening-to-music-59719 So after talking with a coworker I discovered that not everyone gets chills or goosebumps from listening to music, which kind of blew my mind. Anyway I'm curious to see if people here experience this phenomenon, is there anyone here that doesn't??? I think the first time this happened to me was during the crescendo of Only In Dreams off Weezer's blue album back in the 90's, and when I tried to describe it to this girl I knew I think she just thought I was doing something dirty...

Don't have a ton of time for video games these days, but I somehow managed to put approx. 75 hours into Stardew Valley a couple of months ago (I played a ton of Harvest Moon for the snes back in the day). More recently I've been plugging away at Dreamfall Chapters and the Witness, and I've also been getting a game or 2 of Overwatch a night. I've been playing pc games since 1990-ish and Doom was one of my favourites back in the day, and the new Doom game has me really excited. Will probably pick it up later this summer, no time for it now though.

I saw The Lumineers in Burnaby a few weeks ago, they're almost better live than in their recordings, really great show.

The Paul McCartney concert was amazing.

Anyone interested in working on some tabs for Chaotic Neutral? My ear's not that great but between listening to the songs and watching some live videos I can usually manage to figure out the chords. If nobody else already has, I'll give Moment a stab when I'm home later tonight.

I was a 90's kid and never realized that so much of the stuff on the radio back then was Canadian; this was a fun article to read.

Oh yeah I'm also going to see Paul McCartney on April 19th in Vancouver, I love the Beatles and I've wanted to see Paul live for a while. He's getting up there in age so I figured I better see him while I still can.

I bought tickets to the Lumineers concert in Vancouver (Burnaby) in June, excited for that.

I liked Hail Caesar.

Here's some stuff I really like that I've been listening to lately. These songs are a bit more on the mellow side; I don't really know what genre they fall into... I just know I like them. St. South - Marvin's Room (Drake cover) - (soundcloud link) ps. This cover is way better than the original. There's something pleasant about this song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sb5sa64lcHI If you like this check out their album, it's really good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QVI-bbxeSS4 Surprisingly, this song has some great sax in the second half. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QuzPQMrHaKE -
I've only seen you (Matt) live once, but if you did a $100+ intimate acoustic show I would go (I'm in Vancouver).

Anyone into Angus and Julia Stone? They make some great acoustic folky music, Memories of an Old Friend is an amazing album. Listen to the song Old Friend, it's a great rainy day thinking about life song, I think it starts around 30:50 https://youtu.be/nbRFxx1049I -

If you like mostly instrumental music, Black Sands by Bonobo is really good. All In Forms, Kong and Kiara are my favs. It's kind of electronic music I guess, I don't know, I just know I like it. The other albums by Bonobo I think aren't as good. edit: this guy performs solo as a dj but also tours with a live band sometimes which is pretty good, check it out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_qnAowOProU -
I might give Moment a try although my ear isn't that great either, in fact for Letters in Wartime I couldn't quite make out one of the chords and had to watch a video of him performing it on youtube to figure it out, haha.

I think Cloudbusting might be my favourite track from this album.

So I've listened to all the studio tracks (aside from Army of Lions) on the app and I think this is a really solid album; all the recordings turned out well and I don't feel like there is any filler. It'll take a few listens and some time but this might be ranked pretty highly compared to Matt's other albums, personally speaking. edit: My reasoning is that (1.) some of his albums didn't click for me right away and this one has, and (2.) I was apprehensive about the demos but the studio recordings seem to have turned out a lot better.
