  1. I'll have to give some of those songs another listen, I can't remember how the lyrics go, but it might be like when I found out Chris Martin split up with Gwyneth Paltrow and suddenly the lyrics on Ghost Stories made a whole lot of sense (ps. i love that album).
  2. Is Grim Fandango any good? I used to play some old adventure games like Space quest 1 and 2, Police Quest 1 and 2, Golbiiins, The Longest Journey and a few others, but I never really played any of the old LucasArts games.
  3. Probably just Rico and Anti-Pop. edit: ok honest answer, Old Fighters is pretty good but I'd take out the live songs and replace them with the studio versions. I'd also take out Zero Orchestra and put Had It Coming, and swap out In A World Called Catastrophe for Shallows Low. Last thing, if at all possible I would squeeze Great Whales of the Sea on there. If I had to choose just ONE song, fuck I don't know. Given the current trends in rock music I'd say Strange Days holds up well.
  4. I love Vance Joy, please check him out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1C816p-KTNk This song is amazing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l0XRlNZbQFE
  5. I vote for Cloudbusting.
  6. Tiger By The Tail is an awesome name for an album! edit: There's that image on matt's site that says Tiger By The Tail, buuuut if you click the arrow on the right, an image appears that says "Twenty Years/ Matthew Good" with a picture of a 20-sided die. a hint at something being released with the name Chaotic Neutral???? So is it Tiger By The Tail, or Chaotic Neutral for the new album!?
  7. Hah oh yeah the guitar is total Police work haha, never realized. I think the demo from LOES you mentioned might be We Are A Place, it was one of the better unreleased songs you've made.
  8. Really Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn??? Man that first season was amazing, some of the best TV of all time in my opinion. I don't see how the second can live up to the first but I absolutely fucking love the idea of having a new story with a new cast for each season. There's a lot of TV out there that just doesn't make sense to go on for 5 or 6 or 7+ seasons.
  9. I'd almost add House Of Smoke And Mirrors to that list, although some other instruments kick in half way through, it still kind of has that feel.
  10. Matt may have 20 years of wear on his voice but still puts out songs with really strong vocals. There's that one particular verse in Letters In Wartime that gives me chills, and makes it my favourite song off the album: This is the time I’ve waited for you Bordered a line I can’t ignore Taken a life I’ve waited to come again
  11. Set Me On Fire is the best song off LOES (and LOES is probably my favourite record), I feel like the vocals on that track speak for themselves independent of the actual words.
  12. Hungarian Assassin?
  13. Oh man, ignoring the strange code unicode character stuff going on in those code blocks, I have no idea what this 5 and a half year old garbled pile of shit was supposed be lol. And the error I was asking about is super obvious. Ah well I was in school still, I was allowed to to stupid things and make mistakes.
  14. Steam is fantastic, it's got thousands of games, old and new. You just hit the button and it downloads and installs it, you don't need to think. I'm using a 3 year old ultrabook, the cpu is great but it's got an Intel integrated HD graphics 3000, which basically means that it the graphics card is not dedicated and not very powerful, but I would still say I can run the vast majority of games on Steam, it really depends on the game. Steam has ridiculous sales, I just bought Tomb Raider for $5 (although the sale is over now I think). Sometimes I miss the old boxes, I still have my original copy of the first Diablo and Homeworld, both in massive cardboard boxes lol.
  15. I've got all the studio albums on CD, as well as In a Coma and Live at Massey Hall. I don't have Loser Anthems or Lo-fi B-sides. Hmm I've got an Avalanche tour poster, a bunch of merch, a couple different coloured hoodies, toque, scarf. I don't have anything on vinyl though. Honestly I moved to south america a couple years ago and don't have the money to buy and ship new stuff, and everything I listed aside from the clothes are back at my parents place in Vancouver, although I buy the new albums when I go visit but I always just leave them there.
  16. Hatoful boyfriend haha, I watched a short play-through a while back that ended with the main character being assassinated in her sleep, it looks utterly bizarre. I picked up a copy of Tomb Raider during the recent Steam sale, looking forward to playing that, maybe during my christmas break.
  17. lol the word 'organized' doesn't exist in Argentina, haha. ok just kidding don't tell anyone from Argentina I said that.
  18. Vancouver is really tame for a large city, most big cities in the US have much higher crime rates. Honestly Buenos Aires is not that bad compared to other big cities in South America like Rio de Janeiro which is itself actually still not as bad as Detroit for homicide. The only other thing that happened to me here was my phone was pick-pocketed about 10 months ago. Well, 2 altercations in the last 2.5 years compared with 0 in Vancouver over 26 years, I guess it's a little riskier here.
  19. I liked the first Assassin's Creed, and made it through about half of the second, then I gave up lol. I installed Skyrim again, downloaded a ton of mods, that game is good for a fun playthrough about once a year.
  20. wow yeah, i loved Los Alamos first listen, so far this is my favourite demo.
  21. I guess they haven't been mixed but in Moment I'd like to hear the acoustic guitar a bit more when the drums kick in, maybe turn down the piano and drums, especially the drums, I feel like the chorus is too loud. I liked Tiger By The Tail, I wouldn't change anything. New version of We Have Done This Before is much better, didn't like the chorus. I like the idea of Matt scoring a movie. Hey Matt why don't you try scoring a pre-existing movie as an exercise, show it to a couple close friends and see what kind of a response you get? Who knows, could be a new source of income.
  22. Any chance there's a download link for the Live Road songs, or can someone send them to me? I've lost access to mine :( (aka computer problems).
  23. That's an awesome story. I've never had the chance to meet him, but I always get the impression that he's very considerate and grateful to/for his fans.
  24. Hmm that's an interesting thought, but I'm inclined to think Matt was never so bleak. I think Matt is a true artist, of course he wants to be successful, but I think his main goal is to create art and share it, and to affect the lives of others by stirring emotions; I've never been so lucky to have that affect on others (at least that I'm aware of), but I imagine it would be nice. I think in this song Matt was talking about this ability to connect with people through music, not necessarily fame. Hey that's my 2 cents at least, who knows I could be way off, maybe he really is talking about fame or wanting it to all be over. :P
  25. Ahh I'd love to go, he's never playing in Vancouver when I'm in town though (sadface).
