  1. Be careful that there is probably a lot of exaggeration in there. Not that I liked the woman what so ever. You have to remember that a bunch of these people are out of a job now that she's done. They could be thinking that the 'look at the lipstick on this pig' is a fucking brilliant angle.
  2. I agree with you, in some respects. I think the hype, and the belief in instant and radical positive change is dangerous. Very very dangerous. Nobody can succeed if the perceived goals are that elevated. However, I think that the win is good in a few respects. I'm a liberal thinker, so I find the democrat platform more tolerable. I think that America changing its leadership has a global effect. No really in the way it will change America, but in the way other people around the world view America. It's a long up hill road, and who knows if America will move forward or back. In general though, had McCain won, the situation would be no different. Except that the world would have continued to have no faith in America... So I think that at least now there is a chance.
  3. Myself and some fellow Canadians will be taking a moment of silence is sober reflection. As I am now expatriated I cannot attend a service, nor can I get a poppy to show my respect. I do however, feel that remembrance day is an especially important time. Lest we never forget the human cost of war.
  4. Ah, the Americans get their comeuppance. Oh the times I have spent $15 on shipping because I was in Canada. Sure it doesn't cost you that much... it even costs you less. I do have a news flash for you though, shipping from Canada to any US address of a CD size package does actually cost $7-$10. Who's screwing who now? On a less judgemental note, I am travelling back to Canada and could pick you up a copy and put it in USPS when I return. PM me if you likes.

    Wtf

Sadly the election is over, they are gone now. In other news California hates gays. San Francisco considers becoming own state of "Fruitopia". Ok, the last part is BS, but the first part is sadly true.
  6. We where ask a question about getting computers to receive faxes... though getting an e-fax number is by far the easiest... or getting a fax machine. On windows you have to install the fax stuff, and then set it up... damned if I can remember how to do it. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/s...2october21.mspx Google for the win!

    Wtf

Why the fuck is google spamming my ads with "Vote Yes on 8" and "McCain/Palin" ads. Make them go away!!! AWAY!!! Oh and FYI, voting 'Yes' on 8 is saying "I'm an intolerant fuck who hates gay people". Nothing else do it... they can stop all the bs about it, because that is it, plain and simple.
  8. OS? On windowz you need to install the fax machine thing... or at least you did on older windows. On OS X... if you have a modem installed, then you need to add a fax machine in Print & Fax, and then you can configure it's receive options. I can give more detail if I know what you want to know.
  9. Jon Lovering So turns out that I wrote this C Linklist Library back in my second year of university. A bunch of other people are too lazy to write there own, and have driven up the hit count on that page.
  10. I only know how it works on the mechanics side (As in DNS tree stuff). I think that when you register with any company they take a fee to maintain a DNS entry for you. If you stop paying, they stop holding the name for you, and you could lose it. To my knowledge there is no way to own a domain forever (as you need to get a top level DNS entry, and you can't do that yourself). I suspect others will know more.
  11. An intriguing question... I don't know. I would like to know if Tim has been able to resolve his problem with the album?
  12. Steak is the only meat that I will eat with any pink. People I work with like their burgers medium, that shit scares the crap out of me. Maybe that's because you always get well done ground beef in Canada... from what I read the meet only needs to reach 160F internal temperature to kill the bacteria.
  13. Don't try and give blood drunk! Jeeze Lauren! A buddy of mine swears by the practice of finding the "Do you feel well?" Question, because that is the only 'Yes' on the sheet, then 'No' for everything else.
  14. Yes. Well... it depends what your into.
  15. Totally false. iTunes is not designed to be content linked to the items in the iTunes store. iTunes and iPod both existed prior to the introduction of that feature. That said, the problem is likely with the track encoding, or the quicktime version.
  16. Couple of questions: Do the tracks play OK in iTunes? What format are they ripped to? What kind of iPod and Gen (or at least when did you get it)? I've never had a problem, but I don't doubt that they exist. I always rip to 196Kb AAC. iTunes' MP3 encoding support is less that awesome. AAC is always safe for iTunes and iPod consumption (but often useless for others).
  17. I'm not allowed to donate. I was born in GB and lived there for more than 2 months prior to 1994. I am therefor forbidden.
  18. Change of scenery. Please don't mind the mess. You might have noticed that a post you made on this topic no longer exists? It's not gone, it's just not here, look around, you might be surprised. And further to that, anything else on that same lines will end up in a similar receptacle. ;)
  19. I had a witty reply... but it gave me this idea, and I couldn't resist. I will, however, pay attention in the music section. It is one I neglect as it often has me reading a bunch of BS I don't care about, and is rarely prone to the kind of trouble other sections are. Have fun kids... oh and ;)
  20. This will be a first, but I don't see why your slamming the shit out of Chris. There isn't a maximum thread limit... it's not like we're going to run out. And he isn't posting things which are repeats (as many many many people have been guilty of). Sure we can argue that this *could* have been in another thread, but I think in this case that argument is just you being a conceited jerk and trying to find fault. FYI at the end of the day, there are a group of people on this board that determine what constitutes rubbish... frankly I find most of the criticism here to be just that, but the thread itself is OK. Peace P.S. Had to edit the title, this is a public forum.
  21. I only ever took the elevator at my university in one building, because the stairs where actually on the other side of the building, and when you got to the top there was not guaranty the door would be unlocked. (Nothing sucks more than 3 flights up, locked door, 3 flights down, elevator up). I also don't like to idle around parking lots, and will make one opportunistic loop through the front of the lot, and then head to the back. I usually like to park close to people with expensive cars who where trying to protect their paint ;) I've also been known to reverse park into tight spaces so that people who can't park their tanks are confronted with not knowing how to get into their vehicle... when they get all upset they look at the lines and realize that I am in the space and they are not. I only hope that makes them feel sheepish.
  22. I'm having a little Deja Vu right now... I'm going back to that time where I used to hover my mouse over the lock button... ;)
  23. I only have a few, I'll catch you online we'll see if I have any you don't... that is, if you are ever online? If we know we're missing some, then well do like in that movie, and recreate them with my shitty microphones from Radio Shack... No, I don't know it's name, and I only saw the trailer...
  24. I will admit, that at my apartment, when I run to the mail box, I often park in the handicap designated spots. Why? Well it's not because I'm just walking 6 ft to the mail box. It's because I get home at late hours, those handicap spots are there for people going to the leasing office (ironically the building is not handicap accessible). Even if there was somebody who has a right to park in the handicap spots, they are the furthest parking space from any of the building accesses (closest to the leasing office again). There are also two of them which I have never seen a car in. So on the basis that: I don't believe there is anybody who needs them at that time; and subsequently I believe that anybody that does need them would have parked in them already by the time I am there or have parked actually close to their unit; I don't think I'm hurting anybody. I have also been known to park in next to the "no parking" curb and leave my hazard lights on... but that seems to confuse other drivers, they can't seem to figure out how to get around my vehicle, even though the road is 3 car widths... I have never parked in a handicap bay at or near any open facility where there actually might be handicap people.
  25. I only ask because one of these tribute songs came up randomly in my iTunes. A shame really... there was a lot of good work.
