  1. I think the reason why so many people don't really consider the Beatles to be all that great today is because by the time they've heard a Beatles song, they've already heard the Beatles influence in about a couple hundred other places. To me, the Beatles are indeed amazing, and songs such as Sexy Sadie, Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight/In The End, Hey Jude, and Revolution are timeless. Worst band ever, and I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet: Panic Button. (I couldn't resist. Sorry Scot.)
  2. Moral of the story: only good can come from drinking alcohol.
  3. Maybe it was just easier to talk?
  4. 8/10 for its usefulness.
  5. "The escape button! Where's the escape button?" Man, that kid has some serious pipes.
  6. "Help Us Get Rid of the Matthew Good Band" is also written on the inside spine of the CD case.
  7. I haven't heard either, and I'm happy, so I guess number three.
  8. More or less. Practically all forms of new music today (rock, pop, hip-hop) can be traced right back to the beginning of the 20th century from jazz and blues.
  9. Yeah, I wasn't too impressed with it, really. It's nothing like Radiohead's new stuff that they're playing live right now.
  10. British Petroleum makes $55,000 every minute.
  11. 8/10 for no other reason than V for Vendetta = awesomeness.
  12. Attacking ambulances and the like is a war crime. So is using emergency vehicles to transport weapons and troops, which Hamas and Hezbollah have been known to do. But still, what a fuck-up.
  13. Yeah, That's why my post didn't list everything else on muchmusic. Even if you change the name for most of them, you'll still get the same band/musician.
  14. I consider them crap. As for worst band, I really don't know. There's just so much to choose from it makes me giddy.
  15. I read in the paper yesterday an editorial by a professor in Beirut, Hilal Khashan, why Hezbollah still puts themselves up as a resistance movement. http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/westview/...p-4167277c.html It's a subscription-only site, so try the username [email protected] and the password charter if you want to get it from the source. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sheeba_Farms
  16. It's actually "Kept in the Dark."
  17. Is it still up? No, I don't think so. Last time I checked it was all old, released songs.
  18. The War Is Over (LOTGA) Haven't Slept In Years (Raygun) Apparitions (Underdogs) Fated (Lo-fi) A Boy And His Machine Gun (BM) Flashdance II (Loser Anthems) The Workers Sing A Song Of Mass Production (AoB) Near Fantastica (Avalanche) Blue Skies Over Bad Lands (WLR&RR) Big City Life (IaC 1) Tripoli (acoustic) (IaC 2)
  19. Actually, you could probably argue that US policy caused all three of those... PS: if by communism you mean the Cold War, that is.
  20. I don't really listen to it, but Winnipeg has a pretty good ska scene. A bunch of my friends are into it. JFK and the Conspirators is a name that happens to pop up a lot around here.
