  1. I thought of that, but there's just that whole mistrust of Westerners (and Christians. What's happening to Iraqi Christians is just terrible).
  2. I am quite serious. The only ass that song kicked was its own ass. I guess I was pretty let down by it. I was expecting some kind of hard, bluesy metal like old GNR, but instead it was just a mild post-grunge tune. I've come to the conclusion that they aren't equal to the sum of their parts.
  3. It's only because she loves you so.
  4. Simple Plan doesn't pretend to be punk, either. They'll say that they aren't punk. Nickelback, I believe can still make another kickass album like 'The State', and Creed aren't around anymore.
  5. 1) Omissions Of The Omen 2) Workers Sing A Song Of Mass Production 3) Failing The Rorschach Test
  6. There was another thread about this a while ago, so since I'm a lazy arse, I'll just quote what I said then: Or better yet, just read the other thread and put what I'm saying into context of what I thought was a good debate thread. http://www.nearfantastica.com/bored/index.php?showtopic=1230
  7. Physical fitness. Kicked his drug and alcohol addictions.
  8. That and Howard Dean is a totally cool guy. It's the attempt at bullying that boils us. It's the supreme arrogance that makes us mad. The image of the US is, unfortunatly, a reflection on the entire Western world, and right now I don't consider that a good thing. Some day, I want to be able to travel in the Middle East and not have to fear being killed because my white skin is associated with the American "crusaders against Islam."
  9. I watched a bit of it, but nobody really delivered a knockout punch. Cheney comes across as cold, while Edwards has more charisma and speaks better. One part I liked was when they were talking about the deficit and Cheney said that Kerry had voted against tax relief for the middle class 98 times. Edwards countered by saying that Kerry had voted in favour of tax relief for the middle class over 600 times. Make of it what you will.
  10. He makes Jon Stewart the best TV personality today.
  11. 'Indestructible' and 'Hopeless' are fun. Whenever I'm depressed, I can usually listen to a slower song to cheer me up.
  12. I think he probably didn't do anymore because most of the comments that were being posted didn't have much to do with the content, they were all like "of, it's sooooo great to hear his voice again." and the like.
  13. If you guys come through Winnipeg, I'll be there. 'Killing Time' is a good song.
  14. Yeah, when I first bought 'AOB', the lyrics pretty much blew right over my head. But that was then, this is now, so I can enjoy them a lot better now.
  15. "Let's Get It On" "The Fall Of Man" "The War Is Over" "Look Happy, It's The End Of The World"
  16. well, whats more ethical? 1) Going out and hunting for your own food in the wilderness, and thus giving those animals a chance to live free in the wild all their lives until they are killed for food. or 2) Getting your meat from the supermarket, where those animals spend their lives caged until they are ripe, then have a bolt punched through their skull inside a slaughterhouse. A vegan or vegetarian might object to both of those. ;)
  17. Can't forget about Ralph Nader and the Greens.
  18. I disagree. That Alter Bridge one or the first Velvet Revolver single=merde. The Waking Eyes are quite awesome.
  19. There was one time back last May, when an ABC reporter interviewed a soldier in Iraq and the soldier said that Rumsfeld should resign. A little while later, there was a blaring headline on Drudge saying that the ABC reporter was a gay Canadian (which is true, but obviously an attempt at a smear campaign).
  20. Goddammit. Whatever happened to Ghandi's peaceful protest or Martin Luther King Jr.'s civil disobedience? Sick
  21. It looks like a pen to me. Why would he do something like that in front of the cameras? He clearly is not facing away from the audience when he puts his hand in his jacket. He's not unfolding paper, he's opening a pen. Drudge report is little more than Fox News Junior. Funny how this is from Fox, too. I like this comment: btw, Bush is doing the same thing in the video, too.
  22. It would be neat if he did one like that for 'Blue Skies Over Bad Lands', I think.
  23. I'm sure they'll invent pills for that.
