  1. Is there a link or anything to the original post i'd like to see it : ) but I don't see how someone could be upset or frustrated cause their fans want to hear a specific song or play longer, that sounds like a compliment. I read his blog post, I gotta say his points are nice and valid, a bit condescending. Hopefully not directed at the other thread here or people here in general. I had a long post about it but it's just too poorly worded right now : ( I will say this, if I were in a position where my life was to channel my creativity, and that was something that I seemingly drew all my passion and enjoyment, plus I swan in swimming pools of gold : ). I'd be a lot happier in my life, and I would play rico every fucking night if that's what people that liked my work wanted. I wouldn't be jaded cause people liked an old or repeated song, or feel my creative juices spited. I wouldn't rant that people wanted me to play longer(cause frankly that'd be a big nice compliment about my creations) or wanted to hear a song I don't play or like as much as when I made it. Just think how much more music Mozart or lover boy would have made if they were rich and could focus on creating music instead of having to work day jobs.
  2. I think were gonna have a mind-F### next week, the previews seem to reveal a little something about colonel and his x? wife and good olde lou diamond. It would make a lot of sense since it doesn't when to the wife she's bonking a stranger who's thoughts happen to be her husbands. I love the stones, and it's a great plot device BUT it's a pretty big deal killer to the main premise of the show which is people trapped on a ship. The stones just give SOOOOOOO many outlets for idea's and knowledge. They've gotta abandon one or the other, imo.
  3. toadman - i'd love to hear you expand your thoughts a bit. I'd like to know how 10k years prior they had 9 chevrons and until now they couldn't figure out how to use it, with all the databases and information they have amassed. Seems really outlandish the ancients would have not left some info. OR continued using the sequence of 9. But i'm willing to disregard that at the present. Also with all the knowledge passed down and if I recall correctly a device that read minds SG command should be able to find a star chart and use someones memories to get an IDEA of where they are, especially over a few months of travel. It's also kinda silly to have a galaxy moving friendly group of people in the asguard not mentioned. I thought last nights episode was the best yet. The ship dialing home was SEMI plausible. I even considered it a way to switch up the lesser cast members. But the character conflicts/drama/development were really solid. In the end when beck lied to get big lou off the ship, that was solid too. Love RD anderson getting screen time, it's a nice tie in and helps bring the plot together. It would be a good call to see Beau bridges in a role for a second since he's still at SG command i'd imagine. I don't know how long the show can stand on a premise of trying to get home giving the multitude of reasons they should be able figure out. When you watched voyager(if you did) it made perfect sense in their universe that it wouldn't be possible barring some outside force that they likely wouldn't detect. In SG there is so many more mentions to moving across multiple galaxies and what not it's hard to believe they won't figure it out right quick.
  4. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1286039/board/flat/150761576 I thought this was an interesting thread from the imdb boards about the show. The OP's points to me seem valid, the criticism has some good points(risk to reward finding a few people, and a beat up ship) but most of it is pretty weak. Since the inital technology(the 9th chevron) was important enough to find.
  5. I thought the first episode was really great, and the 2nd was good but the last couple have been pretty blah... I hope so too!
  6. Meh...it was okay for me it's falling into the too much like bsg and old stargate. I like the random alien thrown in, but presented in an ultra boring way. It was watchable, but very mediocre.
  7. FWIW, I don't see anything being aimed at a younger audience, unless one draws a conclusion that the sex appeal is meant for younger viewers. The plot is less serialized that previous incarnations of SG. Throw out the last episode and it's been really good, hoping it keeps up the good work.
  8. I just broke out dirt today and that translated into some facelift.
  9. picked up boarderlands today. Played until level 7 ...it's decent, but not mind blowing. The story really isn't there yet. it's really hard to play in 2 player mode.
  10. Totally disagree there, this weeks episode for me was brutal, calling it predictable is an insult to predictable. I hate hate hate hate it when you put your cast/plot in peril when it's 100% nothing will come of it. To make a whole episode where you know somehow they will save the day...meh pass...The whole episode was made worthwhile by the mess hall scene in the end. Even if that isn't the way the show goes; with baby baltar being a bad guy, trying to rid the ship of people so he can be a superstar pariah(see what I did there!) it's a great seed to plant going forward. It's kinda irking me to not at least mention other scientists coming to the ship to help decode or problem solve via the stones. It seems like such an obvious choice given the circumstances, at least no lou diamond this time around ! That said I like the characters as well as the cast during the episode. I really like the MIT kid. I wish they could just move them forward WITH The plot moving forward as well. SOOO many things, concepts ideas could be explored why burn a whole episode on some nonsense about running into a freaking sun.
  11. I can't get into gears, I tried playing one a little bit but it didn't click. I played through odst, it was decent. Firefight was really disappointing, the lack of any randomness to it was dull. plus the weapon placement. That coming from someone who has played like 4k games worth of h3. i'm gonna check out saints row.
  12. bishop you crack me the hell up. back on topic, this show was pretty bland. Cleveland is only funny as a bit part. Maybe the macfarlane empire has taken on too many projects? American dad doesn't do anything for me, and lately family guy has been pretty mediocre.
  13. In regards to using her with her natural accent? Sure... if you mean the show, no it's an open slate imo. it's space you can have anything you want happen.
  14. yeah she was a 14 out of 10, sex appeal the likes of which hasn't been seen in SG yet. How is sanctuary? worth watching? ps- she's actually english : ) and she's super cute.
  15. Show is something I wish I stumbled upon 3 years from now. It's slow moving in a good way, rather watching it all in a few sittings. Like the idea of telford/lou diamond kinda coming on and stirring things up, but it makes no sense from a logical standpoint. If the team doesn't have much/any real ancient scientists wouldn't it make 10000000% more sense to send jackson or mckay or whomever back with the stones and help out ? I like the cast for the most part, the premise while recycled is still worth watching.
  16. i'm looking for a good co-op game, maybe with a sandbox style to it(oblivion or GTA) preferably for 360 but ps3 or pc would be okay. I'm not big into the WoW or guildwars games but maybe leaning in that direction. also playing the %%( out of nhl10.
  17. zombieland - echoing the rest of the page for those of you that haven't seen it, drop what you're doing and go!! best movie in ages!!!
  18. lol agree on all points, bishopx..it's funny I wondered over to the imdb boards(I enjoy reality!) and it's a cluster**** so many hardline opinions one way or the other. It seems a lot of people don't like it, think it's too racy for stargate, too much like bsg etc etc etc...it's crazy.
  19. boom x2 to the letter exactly what I was gonna say.
  20. episode two was very good too. Good job developing the characters a bit while not stopping the plot. Little disappointing the "stones" are involved kinda allows cameos/quest stars of previous shows, meh on that.
  21. I hear that in there for sure. It sounds made for the mall music, I'm sure i'd hear that if I sat in abercrombie long enough.
  22. I liked it more than I thought I would...it was an excellent opening. Really hoping they go for the less serialized style, like a BSG or lost. Although I fear it will be a voyager meets BSG show to the point it will leave you force to draw that conclusion. But I can't wait for friday, so that's a huge plus! rush was definitely no baltar but a cool is he good or bad kinda guy. the senators daughter is a very solid actress, I was moved by her "papa's be dying" scene. Both of the "kids" were very solid too. lou diamond phillips? seriously? Kinda surprised one of the original cast or atlantis cast isn't in a permanent role. What division were the black uniformed soldiers supposed to be?
  23. so, lost is back in January, does anyone remember anything that's going on? I checked imdb today figuring that it had started and wonder how much catching up I had to do, yikes!!! 7 months is an insane layoff for such a heavy show.
  24. I was shocked at how much the new singer sounded like staley, it sounds like AIC overall which is good. I've skimmed a few songs, i'm not super into it but it's definitely solid. dirt is a really good cd, but jar of flies is my favorite. although I like the unplugged one a lot. Liked the heavy/easy thing they had going with their releases back in the day. favorite chains songs - 1.god am 2. rotten apple 3 don't follow 4 them bones 5 bleed the freak
  25. HEATHEN! wait which one? original? too campy for me tng? - probably the best sci-fi show i've seen quantum leap? - I tried to watch it during it's first run and just couldn't. I went back and watched on torrent. I liked the first two seasons. I didn't like that arc about the xindi or whatever, the time/space junk. I've watched most of the original SG and all of atlantis...season 9/10 of the original were good, most of atlantis after the first season was brutal. I'll check out universe but my hopes aren't up. SG always fails at keeping things fresh, instead of having some reoccurring villains, and themes while showing us what else is going on in their world. We get a re-hash over and over again with the same 3-4 groups rolling around, it sucks.
