This episode wasn't so bad, it was much better than the preview suggested. sayid shooting ben? he didn't finish him off...that seemed obvious. Where's the original plane survivors bernard and the rest? shouldn't they be in the 70's? or are they gonna just "oopss...couldn't handle the time travel" and write 'em out all easy. Maybe Sayid will run into them..

hells yeah...jack makes the least sense of all the characters, when he should be the one making the most rational decisions. Ben seeming nuts at least makes sense. Plus all the crazy stuff, like the time travling island, smoke monsters, twisted revenge plots. That's good stuff. Jack trying to mess up sawyer's live is poor writing.

I just saw the clip for next week(the dvr cut it off) and wow, this show needs to wrap and enough forcing the soap opera drama. Really most of the questions have been answered. You have a lot of little questions(statues..how the island started) but the major things are all gone and it happened in a rather anticlimactic way. Now were stuck watching time traveling young and the restless. You have a show that has basically filler every week that some how gets turned into an actually story. Hell the characters aren't even developing any longer. After THREE years people move on...fuck.

Bsg 5th Cylon Theories?
prototypepariah replied to calgarydave's topic in Rentals, Television, and Readables
I stalked over at the imdb boards(wow what a playpen) but they brought up a lot of good negative points. I don't know how much anyone care but there is some good discussion over there to check out.... Still bugging me how quick kara was just like "pooof" after all this "idk who i am" krap... the people just wondering off has been bugging me a bit too...It seems after all that in house fighting that people wouldn't just up and in the span of one day just agree to live in little clusters. but I guess it's the mark of an elite series that 4 days later it's still floating around my head. -

If you would have asked me 2 seasons ago I would have said the same thing, but now. I felt the opposite the first hour..meh..actions nice but the outcome was predetermined. You know no ones dying and happily ever afters coming. But hour two that was pretty unexpected. I mean you figured starbuck would take them to the real earth, happy speech, everyone all choked up, goodbyes, but at the same time the way it was presented was clever. Also thought the chief whacking the other cylon was fucking on point. I'm curious what everyone thought about starbuck at the very end when she disappeared. Was that to imply she was really in fact an angel? Cause that's what I took from it, but her finding her dead body doesn't really make a whole lot of sense then. It ties in baltar saying the "angels among us..." That leads me to part two...caprica 6 and baltar are god?/angels? They lived 150k years into the future? Why didn't they remember it all happening before ? I'm totally totally lost there. well class thoughts? ? ? - Bishop!?!?! -
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
prototypepariah replied to Crusader's topic in Rentals, Television, and Readables
this episode was also very good even with the emo john at the helm. One negative is that the the powers that be seem to know the end is near and are finishing everything up. Which is good mostly just sucks the show with a lot of promise is coming to an end. It seems like connor is dead and cameron is trying to keep him alive on her own. Or at least that's what is supposed to be taken from the last couple of episodes. It seems like reese might know as well. Sad the show is coming to and end as they did have lots of room to make "filler" episodes but with some substance and meaning like the one where cameron is at the library. But on the flip side they are doing a great job the last couple filling in the blanks and making some really interesting stuff. -

even with 2 hours it still has a lot of finishing up that with a subplot of a rescue mission just can't finish...i hope these aren't loose ends for a furthering of the series via movie or getting picked back up. I'm not saying we need to hear happily ever after but...leaving the fleet in limbo will be a bad end. -
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles

yep totally agree...i know it's the sarah connor chronicles, but cameron's story is 1000% more compelling. Sarah's character has been fucked it's over... -

Finally watched this last weeks today. I thought this might have been the best episode of the season thus far. This show is very good when it's presented in a more serialized format instead of the villain/sarah's mind fuck of the week. -

This episode was good, but with just 2 left it seems like not a lot of time to sort things out. There is a movie with this group on the horizon no? even with that it seems like not enough time to sort a lot of questions out. idk about kara thrace being reborn, and baltar planting that big production at a funeral...meh... -
I would assume if they leave with the thing in the well it will be the normal time. What ever happened to no time travel on lost ?!?!?! lol...yeah...further proof no one knew what they were doing after season one! what's up with the statues that keep popping up but not explained ?

yeah that was cool, there were a couple other sound checks. I'd love to see what goes into a live set with them. It's neat to see/hear about the visual cues the band takes from matt. Thanks for the post ! 1 ! !! ! ! edit : where's the mp3 for safer than a bank acoustic? lol - it's up at the begining of Champions of nothing acoustic.
-
this episode was cool...not overtly dramatic but still had some good heartwarming parts while not totally voiding itself of action. Just curious what happened to the rest of island cast? it would make sense that they also made it to the 70's. I guess we'll see !!!

Bsg 5th Cylon Theories?

I read on imdb(take it for what it's worth) that daniel was only mentioned to fill the plot hole and will not be a character on the show. Maybe they'll tie it in but doubtful....rumor mill thinks baltar will be the key. Also mentioned RDM didn't know who the cylons would be during the 2&3 season so I was right about ellen not being written off to be brought back intentionally. -

they still play that song on the radio fairly often for a 20 year old song... meh -

seems like it...starbucks been the key the whole time. Her talking to the ghost is good evidence of that...poor dirk benedict's going to be so pissed he is gonna run someone over at the local whole foods when he see this! Wonder why the other cylons haven't tried to piece that together with the whole ship thing... tonight was good. I was thinking about the lack of action and the show has moved into the realm(for me) where I feel connected to the characters and can just watch them interact. It made the 2+3 season drag at times but hopefully looking back as a whole it will have been worth it. 3 episodes left! - kara and chief are aging a bit, it's starting to show. -
oblivion is awesome(aside from the people talking the same) halo 1's campaign is epic and the multiplayer is the best of the 3 by far. halo 2's campaign was alright(thought was just slightly more challenging, unless your playing solo then it's really tough) the multiplayer is a button masher and online was terrible.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
prototypepariah replied to Crusader's topic in Rentals, Television, and Readables
yikes...holy filler batman! wtf just happened? it was like a bad star trek voyager episode. This show worked by being straight forward. the basic subject is plenty interesting. Dream sequences are not enjoyable! especially when maybe 45 seconds of the plot was relevant to the story. Also the little chat with cameron and john, that was something interesting but in the context of the show didn't happen, and certainly wasn't something sarah was dreaming about...so... no argument what the best scene was this week anyway : ) -
Bsg 5th Cylon Theories?
prototypepariah replied to calgarydave's topic in Rentals, Television, and Readables
yeah in the past I was bored with the soap opera/ space drama but this season it's much more interesting. I'd love them to move along the plot of the civilization and less keying in on the core group. But no complains. baltar and the 6 made an appearance right on cue! but the 6 being in his head makes even less sense now than before and his arming of the crew seems a very convenient plot device, and very odd for adama to arm the ship so quick after a mutiny. The final 5 were interesting, liked the pettiness of the group, probably could have been conveyed quicker and allowed time for some action though. One thing I was left with was. Is this what they intended when ellen tigh left the cast/died ? Cause i'm thinking not but......I recall tptb saying they had a plan all along...hmm... -
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
prototypepariah replied to Crusader's topic in Rentals, Television, and Readables
hmm...interesting. it looked like tar/oil to me. The time line thing seems interesting it seems to be hinted at slightly but they spend an awful lot of time on these subplots that really don't do much to further the main plot. Or at least develop the main characters. This weeks episode looks like more of the same. lets put mom in a mental home? idk...she's out of character for not only her but the rest of the family. It also seems like the writers have given up know the ending and just filling in the season. -

Yeah I picked up on that, it just seemed pretty odd just chilling in a tar pit. It also seems odd that Weaver wouldn't have had a better grasp on it's where bouts. -
well glad you guys like this episode ;) hmm...why ask why hurley and sayid are on the plane better to just smile at destiny. lol...the best part was the last 10 seconds
