  1. There is a strong chance that I will make an appearance.
  2. The Tea Party were probably THE greatest set of Canadian musicians from the 90s [or IME but the coin could flip either way]. The fact of the break up must be due to their latest album which was very generic radio rock oriented.
  3. 1)All Together (what an embarassing match) 2)She
  4. Shouldn't this topic have been made...I don't know...TWO YEARS AGO?
  5. I might have been exaggerating a tad when I said 'all of his vocal styles came from the song' but you catch my drift.
  6. How could the MGB rip off The Watchmen? MGB's Underdogs came out on August 25th 1998 The Watchmen's Silent Radar came out on March 31st 1998 That would give the MGB 5 months to listen to Silent Radar, write similar songs, record those songs, produce the album, promote the album, the whole record label ordeal, etc... Then Beautiful Midnight came out which sounds nothing like The Watchmen Plus they were originally set to record Underdogs when the Foo Fighters were recording "The Colour and The Shape" (because the guy who produced that record was originally supposed to produce Underdogs) and that record came out May 20th 1997 Do YOU realize that the first Watchmen record was released in 1991? They had another in 1993 which started their success and they broke out with their 1995 album with the single 'Boneyard Tree'. Their biggest shot into the spotlight was in 1996 with the album Brand New Day as they released two Canadian radio rock staples with 'Incarnate' and 'Shut Up'; especially in 'Shut Up', Matthew Good based all of his vocal styles from that song. Do you realize that the MGB used to OPEN for The Watchmen for years?
  7. fearless is pretty emo, as is can't get shot in the back, sort of a protest song, and probably half the demos. i really don't care to remember them right now. You're kidding, right?
  8. fugazi is emo? that's funny because i'm sure that that isn't what they were called like 15 years ago... Alright, what do you want to call them? Post-hardcore? No difference since "true emo" falls along the same category as the independent hardcore scene.
  9. Well I have a 330 cd collection. You can't expect me to back them all up? Besides, it's just a more genuine feeling listening to the original cd but I know that you are all products of the mp3 world.
  10. I don't believe in burned cds.
  11. Worst way. Four years ago, someone broke into my locker and stole my cd holder which held 24 cds (booklets included) and my $200 cd player.
  12. More like 15 year old girls but close enough. The emo scene is so overexposed right now it's sickening. The entire genre nowadays is based upon appearance alongside relationship angst and despair. Don't get me wrong, I know who "real emo" bands are: Rites Of Springs, Fugazi, Circle Takes The Square and etc but I still strongly believe that tripe like Boys Night Out are emo as well. And I hate all those MySpace kids out there who base their entire lives on adapting the emo/goth culture when they don't even know what the hell it really is. Point is, that Boys Night Out are a watered down emo band with forced emotion; just like any of the emo garbage that has been in the mainstream over the past 3 years.
  13. Ha, to this day, I thought "Deep six, come to bed, goodnight and take care" and the typical "Taco Bell Shoe" from Avalanche. OH AND I used to hear "Mother fucker went #1" in North American For Life.
  14. 1) Omissions of the Omen 2) Requiem For Rosemary 3) I Miss New Wave 4) Fearless (ha this lost to Alert Status Red last year?) 5) Apparitions 6) Rico 7) Going All The Way 8) House of Smoke and Mirrors (possibly Matthew Good's greatest solo effort) 9) Waiting For The Great Destruction (I always found Comfortable Criminals to be a cheap immitation of Near Fantastica)
  15. The Matthew Good Band also initially ripped off The Watchmen.
  16. Atrocious emo act. Yes, I'm calling them emo. Sure they might not be "emotional hardcore" but they are a complete joke nonetheless. The entire emo scene is an embarassment.
  17. 1) Folk Singer 2) Raygun 3) South Of Summer 4) Symbolistic White Walls [too late now, but we could have had this song vs. the altered version that Matt performed during 2003 shows. 5) slow version 6) Change Of Season [this LOST to Lullaby last year? My god] 7) Jenni's Song 8) Workers Sing A Song Of Mass Production [Good match though] 9) ROOMS VERSION!!
  18. What about Pony Boy?
  19. My brain wasn't operating right with the Rico question. 3/10!
  20. Don't get me started with Bluebird! Strange Days Running For Home She

  22. Sounds like a late fan to me! My first TRUE exposure to the Matthew Good Band was seeing 'Everything Is Automatic' debut on the Muchmusic Top 30 Countdown back in September of 1997. BUT, I might have heard 'Symbolistic White Walls' on the radio prior to that; I can't remember. speaking of that. how did EIA only peak at #6?! Wish I could tell ya!
