mg, radiohead, and broken social scene are the only bands where i will buy everything they ever put out... unconditionally otherwise.. as long as i don't think the style has been done to death im interested... -
check it out.. it's called dreamt for light years in the belly of a mountain... great band with great albums.

Name A Band That...

American idiot is defintely not the best green day album... it's theft, thats all it is... jesus of suburbia = summer of 69, boulevard of broken dreams=writing to reach you=wonderwall... along with all of the other rip offs most of us are familiar with..... i think green day's best is nimrod. anyway, to add.. The Beach Boys- pet sounds -
i dont' know how avalanche can even be ranked near those two albums. I think 2001 was the best year for mgb with loser anthems and Aob, definitely their two best releases.. everything works perfectly on both of those albums.. BM is really cool but there are still songs on it that shouldn't have been there. White Light is up there for me too... if AOB isnt the best it's gotta be that one for me. That said, Beautiful Midnight has some of the best songs i've ever heard.. boy and his machine gun just takes it down a notch for me.

Pony Boy Should Have Been The First Single.
andydanger replied to Shortcut To Moncton's topic in Matthew Good
i must admit, i'm really surprised with all the carmelina bashing.. i think it was arguably the best single mgb ever released (along with apparitions and load me up). Ponyboy probably didn't make the album because it's so repetative and in my opinion the AOB did perfectly fine without it... i mean im glad i've heard the song but i don't miss it when i listen to the AOB. -
when white light came out he talked a lot about wanting to travel the world and record a song in 12 different countries to make his next album, calling it "12 nights".. maybe this is his chance... still i don't think music's gonna be a priority for him in the next year or so.

i doubt matt wants the kind of popularity he used to have... when the band was big their shtick was strippers, monkey masks, and getting as many people as possible to flip them off at their shows. I don't think a thirty five year old man who we've all come to know in a completely differently light thanks to the blog would want to return to a fanbase like that after having collecting and converting such a different new audience. It may be smaller, but it's probably what he wants. And anyway i don't think he's been thinking about his own music much lately anyway..

matt does play smaller venues, but he also doesn't put out videos or have half the promotion he did with the band.

City And Colour

agreed, it's one of the most boring albums of last year... he's so overrated, i doubt anyone would listen to it if alexis wasn't doing so well. On the otherhand, his contribution to neverending white lights is excellent. -
give it at least another year

white light is matt's best or second best released ever in my humble opinion

....i think with this emo thing that's been going on the past few years there has been intense over saturation and it's not the music that gets people up in arms it's the fans. when you see a cult of kids with black hair gelled to the side to cover their eye, wearing girl pants, and extremely tight sweaters whining because people make fun of them, alot of people think it's ridiculous. what's more disheartening is when you see bands playing to these people. If you don't like the music it's a complete matter of taste, but if you're really going to say a band like boys night out sucks take a listen to their music first and pretend they don't have a legion of arrogant 12 year old babies going to their shows. the basic point here is i don't think people listen to music as much as they listen to the hype. do i listen to boys night out? no.

Who Hates U2?
andydanger replied to bettafish1776's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
i understand how people can dislike u2 but you can't deny they have been one of the most successful bands ever for a reason... everyone can connect with at least one u2 song.. and they wouldn't have been around for 25 years if they had so many haters..... i know what you mean tho, it seems like everyone i know hates nickleback yet they sell out arenas all over north america, strange
