  1. Bland? Try out "The First" or that whole album. Not like their other stuff at all. Edit: Pinback is awesome. Hells yes! (about Pinback I mean) Hey, isn't Walking With a Ghost a White Stripes cover? Or is it the other way around? The white stripes covered tegan and sara's version
  2. Someone else knows who Roberto LoRusso is? I can't decide if he's a better musician or teacher. Also, I started to really get into music when I was in Grade 6. Yeah, grade six. During that grade, I started to obsess over it and went into making top 30 countdowns of the week's popular rock songs--the sad thing is that I haven't stopped. 492 weeks in a row and still counting...
  3. The Righteous & The Wicked - Red Hot Chili Peppers
  4. They are trying to be too many bands at once.
  5. As the creator of the thread, I just want to add that The Bends really isn't that greater than Pablo Honey--dare I call it overrated? Songs like "The Bends", "Bones", and even "Just" could have easily fit on Pablo Honey. The humorous thing is that whenever someone bashes Pablo Honey, they state that Creep is the best (OR only good) song on the cd while it is the SINGLE song that gives the cd a bad reputation (angsty lyrical content with grunge-influenced melody [besides the bridge]). Sure, Pablo Honey has its share of weak songs, "How Do You?" for example, but it's not that lower than The Bends. The Bends was a jump in quality over Pablo Honey no doubt, but calling it the best or second best is insulting to the rest of their discograpghy.
  6. From the days when I owned The Punk-O-Rama compilations, they reminded me of The Hives. Bad comparison? Either way, I would never listen to them.
  7. Two singles? Would the other one possibly be Red Flag? Atrocious band.
  8. Was going to say. "Mojo" could be on the radio me thinks.
  9. Foxtrot, Uniform, Charlie, Kilo - Bloodhound Gang (terrible song)
  10. The worst is with Californication. Listen to the chorus of 'Parallel Universe' if you want to damage your ears.
  11. Never noticed this before on the cd until this thread. 03868. I remember on the day I bought it, I was disappointed. Not edgy enough for me then, I guess.
  12. All Together. Other solid b-sides: Pony Boy Fated Dusk To me, Can't Get Shot In The Back was the beginning of mediocrity with Matthew Good.
  13. A solid progressive/experimental rock group. I should hear more of their albums.
  14. The worst problem with emo kids is that they actually have huge fucking egos. You'd think that they'd be insecure and shy due to their depressing-ridden style but it isn't the case. The emo scene is nothing more than a socializing tool. Also, that Save Your Scissors song is so horrible. It's not an emo song by any means but it's just an awful radio rock song. It reminds me of that dreadful Neverending White Lights song that "coincidentally" came out at the same time. Horrible bands and horrible related genres.
  15. Secret Samadhi was a very obscure release from the band which turned out to be a failure thanks to the massive hits off Throwing Copper. If you want to check out something out of the ordinary, listen to Live's first album: Mental Jewelry. Might even be my favourite Live album. Birds Of Pray was a good rock album, though easily the worst out of the six. BUT NOW, SONGS FROM THE BLACK MOUNTAIN, my God, what a faceless, soft, adult contemporary album. Listening to the first 10 seconds of the first single, The River, really sums up the album. A sad ending to a very good band.
