Last.fm?

Okay then, I guess it must have been lost in my junk mail or something. I think the changes are winning me over. Before I would check my plays every once in a while, but with what they're trying to do now, I can see myself staying a while. I guess that's the plan; get people to spend time at the site. I'm still waiting patiently for the new Virb site. As a musician, I think that one's got the best potential of them all. Especially the fact that you can incorporate pretty much any widget, blog, or photostream onto your main page. Making it a place where all your social networking sites converge. -

I think it shows promise. I totally wasn't expecting a site overhaul though... I'm sure they'll evolve to custom layouts eventually. Why does everyone want to become myspace???? -
Flight Of The Conchords

I meant, it has the lasting appeal of seinfeld. Not that the show is at all similar. Cant wait for the second season. Its a shame its not on till 09. -

Yeah, got into these guys when I was in New Zealand. Its sort of like Seinfeld, you can watch the episodes over and over and they're still hilarious! -

Their new album is amazing. ------ Modest Mouse - Life Like Weeds I could have told you all that I love you. And in the places you go, you'll see the place where you're from. I could have told you all that I love you. And in the faces you meet, you'll see the place where you'll die. I could have told you all that I love you. And on the day that you die, you'll see the people you met. I could have told you all that I love you. And in the faces you see, you'll see just who you've been. -

Awesome! Thanks for that. I didn't know there was a video for that song. On another note, does anyone have baseball and feel like upping it? -

Hey man, there's nothing wrong with the hardcore/punk/screamo stuff, especially the good kind. Cancer Bats beat the hell out of 90% of the stuff the radio shoves down people's throats these days. Although there are a lot of bands that do what they do better. If they're playing stuff like that on TV I think thats great! Not that I watch music television anymore. -

'...is a real boy' is one of my all time fav albums. Its got some amazing songs and a great lyrical style. The new one's decent but doesn't quite stand up to it. I think Max is collaborating with the lead singer of Saves The Day right now for a new project... Should be interesting. -
Thanks for the kind words guys... After listening to as many of these covers that I can get ahold of, this is a pretty solid sounding tribute album thus far. Sounds good.

Okay, I'm finally done. I decided to pick one of my favourite songs from my favourite album; 'A Boy and His Machine Gun'. I changed it a bit, made it my own, some might say, ruined it, but I'm pretty happy with it for the most part. You can download it here: http://www.sendspace.com/file/mtom8w Or if downloading's not your thing you can stream it at my site: http://www.virb.com/themorningmarch And people thought this tribute would get forgotten about... its only the beginning of June and more than half the songs are done.

Wow man, that sounds great! Good work.

Weezer's New Album

I'll have to agree. Its a pretty decent album. -
You should 'up' the track for anyone who wants to give the vocals a shot... I'd like to give it a try too... but seeing as I still haven't finished my own song, I might not make it.

I'm sure there'll be enough songs to scrounge around for a Matt Good Tribute Ep. ;) My cover of A Boy and His Machine Gun is sooo close... are we just uploading to this site when we're done? That seems to be the trend here.

I'll take a shot at 'Hello Time Bomb'... either that, or 'She's Got A New Disguise'... whichever turns out better I guess.

Constantines Fans?

Its interesting, reading reviews on this album. For some people, they love it and say that its a return to stride. Others say that its pretty inconsistent, that they don't really try anything new and the latter half of the album fades into songs that all sound the same. I'm bunched into the former. When I first listened to Tournament of Hearts, I liked it, but it just didn't have what I loved so much about the first two albums. Then the single 'Hard Feelings' came out and I thought I was in for another record that was just okay. And that sucks, there's nothing worse than one of your favourite bands heading in a direction that you don't like. When Kensington Heights came out I was pleasantly surprised. I think its definitely a return to stride. Bry's voice has come a long way and I feel they have really tightened up as a band. Every instrument just works fantastically with the other. 'Credit River' is an example of this. It just sounds great. For me, I still don't really like 'Hard Feelings' or 'Shower of Stones' but every other song on the album is a winner. I might even go as far as saying that its my favourite release of theirs yet. Its a solid, well put together collection of songs. You can listen to the album version of 'Cath' here: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.p...846&ft=1&f=1039 Personally, I liked the live acoustic version better. Maybe it'll grow on me though. -

There are a few songs that I'm not a fan of; 'Hard Feelings' and 'Shower of Stones' but other than that, I think it might just be my favourite album by these guys. Definitely album of the year so far. Honestly, I wasn't too impressed with Tournament of Hearts but this, for me, is a step in the right direction. There's probably more mellow songs on here than their other ones but they're all pretty solid. And there are a few great rockers on there too... 'Trans Canada' for example, is incredible. If I get a chance I'll throw it up on sendspace or something. -
Good God. That was bloody amazing.

Haha, thanks guys. Good to hear you like my stuff. And my beard, I swear, besides my grandma, (who for some reason says its cool,) I don't think anyone I know really likes it. My Ex definitely didn't. As far as my covers go, I recently put a cover of 'Counting Crows'' "Round Here" on my page if anyone's interested. http://www.virb.com/themorningmarch But not to plug my stuff too much, I figured I'd contribute a real cover to this thread. Its from the Punk Goes 90's compilation, which truth be told is sort of weak for the most part. But 'Bedlight for Blueeyes' does a fantastic cover of 'Third Eye Blind's' "Jumper" http://www.sendspace.com/file/discem -

While everyones linking covers I figured I might as well throw in a little self promoting with a few video covers I did a while back. Don't mind the beard.
