Here's the reason you can karate chop a cinder block without breaking your hand: There are two basic ways to break an object; tension and compression (pulling it apart and ushing it together). Most objects are easier to break by tension, and when you karate chop a cinder block, you apply tension to it, and compression to your hand. Thus, it works not because it's easier to break a cinder block than the bones in your hand, but because it's easier to break a cinder block by tension than it is to break a hand by compression.

Yeah, exactly. it just seems so 'specific' ya know? It talks about Mayor Young, the Saudis in particular, etc. Black Helicopter is pretty political too, but the lyrics are much more veiled, and that's why I like them better. Tidal Wave is a great song, for sure, the lyrics just sort of bug me.

Yeah, David Usher rocks. He has a lot of shitty songs, but a lot of great ones as well. St Lawrence River (Live), Forestfire, Numb and Tomorrow Comes are great songs. Also, most of the Mornign Orbit album is great; I'm a big fan of Joy in Small Places.

Yeah, and the school I go to is one of the few in the province where Psych is a science and not an arts or something stupid like that. I did the double major for now, but hopefully next year I can re apply for the specialist.

Well, unfortunately that's what I'm doing at the moment, because my frigging school won't give me acceptance to the specialist program because my first year marks weren't in the stratosphere. ;) :angry: :angry:

Alright, I'm going into second year university at U of T, and I need to decide my 'program of study' thingy. I know I want to do psych and english, and I like them both, so should I do a specialist program in psych and a minor in english, or a double major?

I'm gonna go with one of those crazy Baskin Robins flavors with little bits of cheesecake inside the ice cream. mmmmmm
