He wouldn't post it on his blog if he didn't want it to be discussed. It's human nature. That said, there is a line, but I don't think saying that you sympathize with him is anywhere close to being over with it. He got hurt by a selfish act, and that sucks. What's wrong with acknowledging that?

I play drums, and I can play the following perfectly: Hello Time Bomb Failing the Rorschach Test Big City Life Enjoy the Silence Haven't Slept in Years (my favourite to play. the beat is very fun.) Tripoli Everything is Automatic I can also play a TON more, because the beat is often very 'standard', but I don't know the exact fills and stuff, so I didn't list em.

I voted Tripoli, because it's frigging amazing, but X-Wing is a close second.

He's also a professional magician, and has a degree in electrical engineering. Smart, smart guy.

He played in a bunch of rock bands on and off for pretty much my entire childhood as a guitarist. He was SO friggin good. About 3 or 4 years ago he bought a drum kit because he thought it'd be fun, and now he's amazing at that as well. It pisses me off to no end, because he's one of those 'naturally musical' people who can just sit down with an instrument and be amazing at it from the get-go. None of the bands he was in ever made it 'big', but I remember one year there was this 'homegrown heroes' radio contest thing, where the top 10 bands from Ontario or whatever would get record contracts and stuff, and his band at the time was number eleven. It sucked.

(But only for extremely large values of 2). If anyone can tell me where that's from, I shall be in AWE of their nerd detection powers. And 7.5/10. It's you, which I guess is what an avatar represents, so good job.

Ignoring all the flaming going on... Yeah, Meg and I realised that we actually live pretty close to each other, and so when she gets back I'm probably gonna drive up there and we'll just see what happens. She has a drum kit, which makes stuff a lot easier for me, and we got a small list of songs together that we'll just mess around with. Nothing serious (we don't even have like, another guitarist or bass or anything) but it should be a fun time.

We've collectively sunk probably three thousand dollars into it since that picture. Cymbals everywhere, double kick, clutch, etc etc. It's a shame I'm hardly ever there to play.

I had a fucked up dream that I was an astronaut in space, and I crash-landed on Venus, and it was really similar to Earth. The volcanic appearance and uninhabibility was just a hologram the Venusians projected so we never bothered them. I wandered around like an adventurer on Venus with my philosophy teacher from high school.

I like the drumming in both. In fact, when I think about it, the drumming in his old demos (Parable, Last of the Ghetto Astronauts, Endsong) is awesome, the drumming on LotGA is great (Haven't Slept in Years, New Disguise, Native Son), and from there it gets pretty bland, with a few notable exceptions (like the slightly funky beat in Rorschach Test, Tripoli, etc).

They're both great tunes, but I voted Native Son just because I'm pretty sure New Disguise is probably gonna win in a landslide.

Man, a friend of mine's dad is like that. Like MORBIDLY obese. A few random facts about him: -His body shape resembles a huge, disgusting Hershey's Kiss of flesh. -When he sits down in on his chair, rolls of fat actually cascade over the arm rest. -In his car (a HUGE van), he actually needs a seatbelt extender, because otherwise, it wouldn't get around him. -When he goes up the stairs to get to his room, he needs to stop halfway and take a breather because it tires him out. How do people GET like this? Like, at some point, don't you realize your plight and take a measure to stop it? "Hmmmm...my seatbelt isn't making it all the way around me. I could either buy an extender, or stop being such a fatass...."

Damn. No jamming with Meg and I ;)

god i hate those bands. i saw ill scarlet once at the masonic lodge... not cool. i don't get why they're so big here. Holy shit, I live like 5 minutes from Masonic. Been there 4 or 5 times, but it's closed down now.
