Cheesy 80's Music
borntohula replied to Seanathon's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
a few good bands came out of the 80s... not all of the music was cheesy. i think my favorite cheesy song would have to be either: "party all the time" by eddie murphy or "the final countdown" by europe. theres more, i'm just forgetting them at the moment. -

i was never a fan of MGB. i liked some of the singles, but not much. when avalanche came out, i had the urge to buy it on the first day it came out. i think my friend scott told me to. or the_rat_who_would_be_king did. all i know is that record blew me away. it's definitely my favorite.

all this talk about "last broadcast" is tempting me into buying it. what's so good about it? after hearing the "some cities" album, i can see there is room for improvement, but this last album of theirs is better? interesting.... -

frank miller's art isn't overrated... he pretty much started the whole "gritty" look that was popularized in the 80s. his art is simple, but it's dark, and different, which is refreshing.

perhaps not, but that doesn't mean she isn't good. -
wednesday night i saw sarah slean play live up at nipissing university's student pub "the wall", while i was visiting my friend there. she was fantastic. her performance was hilarious, sexy and witty all wrapped in a ball of energy. any sarah slean fans in the house?

the chord progression in "empty road" seems pretty darn similar to the one in "while we were hunting rabbits". at least, i think so. i haven't tried to play it though.

fade to black would've worked, but you also need to list the artist each time as well. Collective Soul - "Smashing Young Man" -
im pretty sure arrested development isn't at risk of being cancelled anymore. i went on the main site a few weeks ago, and there was a note from fox on it, saying that they intended to keep the show around. EDIT: i found the note in the forum on the main AD site: Dear Arrested Development Fans: Thank you for your e-mail and your passionate support of Arrested Development. While the show has finished production for its second season, contrary to the rumors you may have heard or read on the internet, it is NOT cancelled. We at FOX love Arrested Development and we look forward to having the Bluth family back on FOX in the future – hopefully for many years. You can help make the show a bigger success by getting as many people as possible to start watching the show this Sunday and every Sunday at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT. Sincerely, Gail Berman Fox Broadcasting Company
