Who's Making Money from the War in Iraq?
juanpe replied to compman_55's topic in Politics and Debate: WRONG!
there are much evidence that the USA, specially members from Bush administration (Cheney, Rumsfeld, Condoliza Rice...) are making a lot of money with oil control... most of the companies which are exploiting Irak's oil are or have been controlled by members of Bush administration if you need references, MG web site includes lots of articles on that, michael moore's webpage does too ("dude, what have you done to my country? his last album and his documental "Farenheit 9/11" talk precisely about this), kerry's website too... -
for some bands, those who are starting (for example), the fact that one of their songs appears on a commercial on TV may mean some sorta "platform" for them to be heard by more people and be "considered" by the audience... there are many bands, many good musicians who havent had an opportunity to show their art to other people (due to marketing, for example, or many other reasons) and this appearance on TV may be a way to be known

Live in Cologne, June 25 2004 - The Cure -
i agree with you that they have improved... but they were pretty good already when being MGB... now they are different, they have included some different tunes... and that makes the band different, not better, but different, in my opinion

the album in general sounds much more better live than the studio versions (for me)

Techno of the 80's
juanpe replied to juanpe's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
of course Depeche Mode ARE techno (they're still doing things, last album "exciter" from 2001)... listen to some of their 80s albums (some great reward, black celebration, music for the masses...) -
The question is NOT who you want to win the elections (I think that from the different posts we more or less agree on who we would like to win the elections) but who DO YOU THINK is gonna win the elections I DO really think Kerry is gonna beat Bush, no matter how much distance Bush may have in the polls (I just hope i dont get wrong...)

Four typical and influential techno bands of the 80s which were (and some still are) icons of this music style... which one is your favorite? I would vote for Depeche Mode, although Kraftwerk were some sorta the "first ones" starting this kinda music

A humble gift for you, Anton ;) Hold me now - Thomson Twins I have a picture, pinned to my wall. An image of you and of me and we're laughing and loving it all. Look at our life now, tattered and torn. We fuss and we fight and delight in the tears that we cry until dawn Hold me now, warm my heart stay with me, let loving start (let loving start) You say I'm a dreamer, we're two of a kind Both of us searching for some perfrct world we know we'll never find So perhaps I should leave here, yeah yeah go far away But you know that theres no where that I'd rather be than with you here today Chorus You ask if I love you, well what can I say? You know that I do and if this is just one of those games that we play So I'll sing you a new song, please don't cry anymore and then I'll ask your forgiveness, though I don't know just what I'm asking it for Chorus -

When it is already 6 months later after the massacre from Al Qaeda in Madrid (Spain), I would like to post this message as a tribute to the 192 innocent citizens who died in that terrorist attack in my city and to all their relatives, families and friends who are suffering the international terrorist. This message is my humble contribution to all people in the world who are suffering from the international terrorism and a loud cry against some governments who are as terrorists as the real ones: a loud cry against Bush's government, Blair's government and Aznar's government (fortunately out of the government in Spain already) for contributing to such hatred attitudes in the world. I blame them for so many killings, so many attacks, so much hatred in the world after 9/11. Always with the victims, always with those suffering, always for freedom and peace. Let's keep fighting for a better, fair and peaceful world. Juanpe

i have just one question: a musician is not a writer? for me he/she is... he/she composes music AND writes the lyrics... those lyrics are - in most of the cases, if the author gives the same load to music and words - like poems... what's the problem that those lyrics, that music, that art is used for TV commercials? If i was a musician, i would be very proud to see my music and my words in a commercial on TV which is gonna be seen by lots of people... I don't think that the use of one's music and words in a commercial is a kinda "degradation" or something like that
