Remember this show, "My Secret Identity" circa 1988-91 ? This is arguably the best show of all time, but it's not being aired! can you believe that?! If you don't remember it, just listen to the theme song, whichis also the best theme song of all time. MSI theme song lyrics: This is better than my imagination. This is more than a dream come true. Without the slightest bit of hesitation, I knew what I was meant to do. You'll never guess my secret identity. Who's on the inside hiding out? You never know what you'll see, when you unlock a mystery. Sometimes this double life gets outta hand. And it's all in a day's work, for Ultraman. I'm asking that everyone please sign this petition. show your support for bringing back the show with the original cast to creat new episodes. Thanks, we only need around 90 more signatures to reach the goal. we can do it. Petition

Are You Afraid Of The Dark
heyrabbit replied to Crusader's topic in Rentals, Television, and Readables
I didn't know she was on "Are you afraid of the dark?", but I do remember her from PMK ( Popular Mechanics for Kids) which was also on YTV back in the day. I thought she was hot back then too. she was like, eleven, but so was I , so it's ok. -
I think you just answered your own question. I haven't played the game. my friend has, he's the one who made me go see it. the whole point of the darkness is that it transforms everything in its path. basically sharon and alessa are the same person. that's the extent of it. everything else was just a pseudo plot, an exuse for special effects.it was made to look deep, but really nothing happened. At least that's what was shown to the viewers anyway. So, that's how I took it. If there is actually some real plot behind it, nobody can be expected to understand it. You're right on that I guess. I understand why you didn't like it. in retrospect I think the reason why I enjoyed it so much is because I was laughing my ass off throughout at how bad it was. video game movies are expected to be bad, so I never actually think of it as a bad movie. Do you know what I mean? It's a good, bad video game movie.

This song makes me think about of that specific period of adolescence when you're in transition. I think about those those summers -- maybe the last couple summers of highschool-- when you've hit a fork in the road and you know everything is going to change soon.I think about the confusing and conflicting feelings of anxiety you have about the future and the melancholy and nostalgia in the air about your highschool years, knowing that it will be over soon. The time of your life that's supposed to be " the time of your life" which you know you'll one day look back on and remember. For me, particularily, those things were amplified by the grunge attitude of my adolescence, the rebellious despondency of my youth. listening to nirvana, offspring, silverchair, greenday etc, being too jaded to care about being jaded. I think about being inbetween school and work, when there's absolutely nothing to do where you live, and all you do is bum around with your friends philosophizing about life, wondering what the future holds for you and all your friends. I picture kids getting drunk in hydro fields at night -- because that's what we did -- those long fields underneath neverending rows of power cables which supply us with our precious electricity. It's almost symbol of a generation, our post-war manufactured livelihoods in the suburbs, rows of cheap housing, convenience stores, and those obligatory patches of grass amongst all the asphalt-- which is supposed give add the natural touch-- but seem to only remind us of the artificiality of it all. our lives designed by the american dream in the pursuit of happiness that are actually as artificial and empty as their surroundings. "you can be art when we melt " I think about feeling trapped in the suburbs, wondering if you'll ever get out and if there's a life waiting for you somehwere else. And those conversations you have with yourself and your friends about all of this. I've basically just described the movie "suburbia" which came out in '96, American pie and Dazed and confused. Those are all awsome movies, though. I'll stay with BM: running for home

you can't blame anyone but yourself for wasting your money. you don't go see a video game movie if you want an elaborate plot and good writing.

Conservs. Blocking Media Dead Soldiers' Arrival
heyrabbit replied to Moonlight_Graham's topic in Politics and Debate: WRONG!
I think this is only a controversy because there's not much else in the news. 4 soldiers died so left media successfully stirred up some shit. I couldn't believe how much controversy there was over the non-lowering of the flag at parliament hill. All the left lib media had to do was bring up the issue and they had all these dumb liberal automatons echoing this. it's all over t.v. and radio. "soldiers died and you didn't lower the flag? that's BAD!" Well no, it's not. if the flag was lowered every time a soldier died, it would take away from the significance of the gesture. imagine if the U.S. did the same, their flag would never fly at full staff. soldiers are given military funerals and if you've ever seen one, you'd know that the government pays it's due repsect. there's a reason why there's a protocol.A liberty majority government would have lowered the flag, just as david miller did. what a bunch of boobs. ridiculous argument. -
I tried recording. apparently I can't record without it skipping. i don't know what the problem is, whether it's my processor, or my mic, or the program. Unless anyone can help meout, no recording from me

I'm not familiar with the video games, but my friends dragged me along. I have to say I enjoyed it. I'm not sure why, though. There's not much of a plot - it follows the plot of the game, so says my friend - so I guess that's ok. It's very video gameish with a video game ending. all the women in the movie had large tits, which I found odd. I guess that's a video game trait. I was rather amused by the traingular-headed guy with the big sword/knife. you'll know what I mean if you watch it.

I Just Bought
heyrabbit replied to mrs jesus's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
if anything I'd just cake on makeup until you couldn't see my face, like oprah. plastic surgery doesn't make you look younger, it makes you look like you had plastic surgery, creepy, look at this chick. http://www.oprah.com/tows/pastshows/200502..._20050208.jhtml -
I guess I have a rudimentary understanding of it all. the semantics confuses me. I think where I'm getting confused is "degrees". what constitutes a degree? is it a full step?(as in two half steps) or is it a full step in the sequence of notes. does (7th note) the same as the (7th degree)? the reason why it's confusing me is because I thought Em7 was 022030, the 7th note being D. and (Dominant 7th for A) is, as you said, x02020, the 7th note being G. for those two, the added note is G#, which I don't understand. where am I getting confused?

I didn't expect anything from this movie to begin with. The trailer didn't interest me whatsoever. Of course it says there's lots of twists and turns, every commercial toots the movies horn. it's not gonna say, "ebert and roeper say this is a yawn" I mean, it never appeared as anything other than a cheap thriller. You can tell by the title that the script was modelled after some accessible mystery novel. Even if you look at the cast it's pretty obvious it's just one of those generic movies that exist to keep actors busy. when was the last time you saw Bruce Willis or Morgan Freeman in a good movie? with all that having been said, it's really not that bad if you take it for what it's worth. it's good for a couple laughs.

a book club is a cool idea, though it looks like it never came to fruition? I guess it would be too hard to get a consensus. We need an Oprah. any volunteers?

fuck, that sucks. I'm pretty rough with my stuff too, usually i just wreck the patch cables though

if there's a show better than 24, somebody please tell me about it.

yeah it was really good, but, there was so much potential for it to be more theatrical. the production of the game play could have been so much better, a soundtrack would have added a lot. I'm not sayin they should have made it like the mighty ducks - which i did enjoy - but there's nothing more exciting or climactic than a game 7, especially when an entire nation's pride is at stake. And you've got communist russia as the antagonist, you couldn't write a story better than that. it seems like such a waste. they could have easily developed characters and mood in the average length of a major picture, even more so no doubt. there's a reason why trailer park boys is the best canadian made show. the nature of the show not only allows but demands that it's cheaply made. their entire budget is about 1/4 of what jennifer aniston made per episode on friends.

exactly. william hurt was awsome. acting drunk is fuckin hard, as demonstrated by every other actor I've ever seen attempt it. He did that, and expressed a great sense of history between the two, all in, what, 15 minutes? sex scenes make people feel awkward, so obviously people aren't going to like it.that doesn't mean it didn't add anything to the movie, just because some people did't like it or understand it.

I loved it. I thought it was cool how they used all the exact same equipment relevant to the time. the hair was the same, the language, overall really believable.maybe a part of that has to do with the fact that they're all no name actors, so nobody is typecast. and it was fun figuring out who was who. they also didn't over dramatize hendersons goal, which I thought was a good move. they made a genuine effort to re-enact it the way it actually happened. the guy played Dryden had an uncanny resemblance, in appearance and mannerisms. the only thing that bothered me was that I would have liked it to have been a major motion picture, but because it's canadian all we get is another low budget canadian series like everything else. the U.S. has their miracle on ice, and Canada gets this.
