Technically speaking, my mom went to college, and my brother goes to college. My dad went into the trades so never went to university or college. I'm the first one in my immediate family lined up for university.

Uhh... not so fast.

"martin Says Harper Has 'no Business' Becoming Pm"

If Harper is so stupid, why is he winning a campaign when 18 months ago people were afraid of him? -
At least you took the time to appreciate my subtle genius.

Conservatives On Brink Of Majority, Polls Say

The interesting and key question is: Would the Tories allow Liberals to cross the floor considering their recent condemnation of the Stronach incident and their plans to reform the process to make doing that illegal. I would say no. They have to continue pretending to have ideals for at least a term or they'll go the way of the PC's fast. The Tories want to make crossing the floor illegal? Woah. I suppose they'll also want to make becoming an independent illegal as well, because there's no reason why any MP couldn't become an independent and just support the conservatives all the way or something. EDIT: Derek, the allegation that the conservatives made that the liberals had stacked the supreme court was made before 2004, which explains why I had read that there were more Conservative appointees on the court. -
No. But I sat next to one of them on the subway. They were speaking Italian. I like it when people speak Italian. Are you good listening to languages you don't understand?

Uhm, didn't Spain withdraw their troops once they realized there were no WMD's? I very much doubt Canadian troops would still be in Iraq if we sent them there from day 1. Canadians and the oppositions wouldn't have put up with it, IMO. Doesn't really matter, we don't even have ships to bring our own troops to Iraq anyways. Spain withdrew their troops when there was a change of government, not at the realization of no WMD's. Right now, I don't think Harper will even try to send Canadian troops into Iraq. He may say what he believes in, but he's not so stupid as to stick his nose that far up George Bush's ass and have his party ousted from Parliament for the next 10 years. Personally, I'm sort of looking forward to a Conservative minority on a weird level. I don't much like Stephen Harper as an individual (I'd much prefer Peter McKay, and there are several conservative candidates who need to go back to Alabama), but it's time for a change. Just to keep all the parties on their toes and see what Harper and the conservatives can get done. I don't think he's going to do any real damage (i.e. banning or severely restricting abortions, undo gay marriages, merge Canada with the United States, force Quebec into sovereignty, rape babies, kill cute kittens, sodomize puppies in public, etc...) to the country, despite what the Liberals keep telling us. I'm also looking forward to the NDP having a much stronger voice in parliament. On another note, is anyone else sensing that the Liberal Party is going to have to go through a really long reconstruction effort? There aren't any clear-cut leaders in the making right now, it looks as though the Bloc could very well form the official opposition, more and more liberal-minded folk are leaning towards the NDP... not to mention the utterly vast way in which they've screwed up this campaign. -
Liberals In = Quebec & Alberta Out?

If I discovered a gold deposit in my backyard tomorrow, I'd be set for life. Hm. Is this like a Hazel McCallion effect? Keeping the tax rate constant for so many years, despite the fact the tax base was/has been constantly increasing? -
This worries me. The only time bass is allowed to be interesting on its own is in jazz music.

Entresol. The last time I heard that song I felt like my ears were going to bleed.

...and I exchanged the earbuds and I returned home with a nice pair of Acoustic Research headphones. They sound great. My only complaint? They're fucking huge!

Santa Claus is real? -
No... but I've gotten shocked a few times. Once when I was little, the wiring around a socket was still bare, so I figured that I may as well... ZZZAP. Went crying to my mommy. Another time in school, I was just plugging in a TV and got a nasty shock. When was the last time you went crying to your mommy about something?

Female genital mutilation, for one. It's illegal in the United States to perform female genital mutilation on someone, but Kenya, for example, if a baby girl does not have the procedure done, she and her family will become outcasts from their tribe (provided they live in a tribe, that is).

I hate when that happens because it burns your throat like a mother.

I need them to help me sleep. Half the time, I just can't get to sleep without something soft playing.

Am I the only one who objects to the idea of government being a parent and its citizen being the child? Law enforcement is different than parenting. Parenting is not only disciplining a child, but raising them and shaping who the person is as a human being. Law enforcement is self-explanatory... it enforces the laws for the safety of a society's citizens.

Because designate, of course, normally has to worry about women she's sleeping with getting pregnant.
