  1. Oh boy! I know a few brands that taste good.
  2. I was asking you, silly. Not the other way around.
  3. The problem with peacekeeping missions is that everyone is generally very reluctant to go unless there's a certain reason for them to go. See: Rwanda. There were no natural resources there, other than people. The veto powers didn't even pretend like they thought the mission was a good idea.
  4. Are you trying to tell me something?
  5. That makes zero sense. But anyways. I prefer flip phones because the face isn't exposed. It's like the cell phone has a little secret and you can check the time or whoever is calling without really exposing the phone to anything. Subtle is what they are.
  6. What you need to know? 1. Nobody is going to read what you write 2. Failing #1, nobody is going to care what you write.
  7. Read that back to yourself.
  8. Just because the time for the proper debate has past doesn't mean it's wrong to have a debate about it now. You'd think Harper would be more willing to prove his case for the mission with something more than "We should stay here because we're already here." That's circular reasoning. There have got to be better reasons for the mission.
  9. One would hope not. Who told Roxanne to put on her red light?
  10. I guess I'll agree that it shows he has political balls. But the man has no passion when it comes to making a point. In fact, I don't really know what this whole mission is about. Is it peacekeeping or not? My understanding was that this mission is, in its entirety, a conflict mission. The goal isn't a hostile takeover, but more humanitarian based. I've not heard Harper mention anything about that. The entire justification for being there is that we should stay there because we're already there. You can't tell me that there isn't a better point to be made. And if the only reason why we should stay in Afghanistan is because we're already there, then there's something seriously wrong.
  11. I'd rather not actually. Me neither. Samantha the overanalyzer, meet Adam the anal retentive dick. First of all, where did the American heath insurance reference come from? Are you referring to the new prescription drug plan? Because that plan is simply the state paying for people's prescription drugs, of any type. Not specifically drugs that treat psychological disorders, but any prescription drug at all. Arthritis medications, painkillers, antibiotics. If you're just referring to people taking pills a lot, read on. You bet your ass that prescription drugs are effective at combatting psychological disorders. I'll even raise you one with a link: http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html...755C0A9629C8B63 And if you continue on, you find out that a combination of both psychotherapy and prescription drugs is even more effective. But the bottom line is, prescription drugs on their own > psychotherapy on its own. Consider the role that chemical imbalances play in clinical depression. Psychotherapy is good for helping people get through emotional problems, but it won't fix the biochemistry of your brain. Lastly, "the modern world has forgotten about the man's soul and his sanity itself." The modern world (if taken to mean the people who made this guy physically perfect) assumed that outward perfection would lead to inner peace. All the problems of life are seen to be caused by us not being as good-looking as the guys girls swoon over in magazines. And not being as rich as them, either. It's a fatal grass-is-greener syndrome that thought happiness is a result of shallow validation about things which you had no control over. Anyone can be told that they look pretty, but that doesn't mean much when you consider the fact that we haven't earned being pretty. On the other hand, we can be told that we are a ncie person. That means a lot more because being nice isn't genetic. You make a conscious choice to be a nice person rather than an asshole. But it gets outweighted by the fact that assholes get laid about 10x more than nice guys.
  12. Size is an umbrella term. I'd still prefer to get a flip phone, though. Even though I hear the razr sucks.
  13. Damn I wish I could go to the Toronto show...
  14. I think we're having a substandard conversation when we could be having a brilliant discussion. Point 1: You couldn't fix the broken parts. Is the grotesque appearance merely a manifestation of the guy's inner self? We all tend to think of ourselves as putting up an outward facade about ourselves but also think that we are deep on the inside. Chances are that we either never share what's inside or share it so much that it's lost all its meaning. Once the outward appearance becomes perfect but the inside remains as rotten as it once was, what happens? A proverbial eggshell, if you will. The oval shape is incredibly strong because it distributes pressure equally along its surface. But when that pressure isn't equally applied (hitting against the rim of a frying pan, for example), it possesses very little structural integrity, and you have all the gooey yolk inevitably oozing its way out. Just like the gun to this guy's face. Better question: Why can't I put this much effort into my homework?
  15. Technically, this is Martin's commitment to Afghanistan. That's one thing we should keep in mind when liberal MP's are calling for a large debate on the subject. But, to the point, I don't think going to some country and shaking hands with some people in a uniform is having balls. Having balls is believing in something and not being afraid to defend it. Defend it passionately, even? That's what I'd like to see more of. Not some silly trip to Afghanistan. Personally, I think the whole Afghanistan thing started off wrong. The debate should have been at the outset of the mission when the liberals were still in power. Harper is merely acting more like Kennedy than Eisenhower in this situation. And I'm sorry for bringing on the Vietnam comparisons, but that's the best example I could think of.
  16. So, size matters?
  17. Status symbol, perhaps?
  18. I have. Not very interesting. She's only a vegetarian because her parents are Hindu. And although she never outright says it, you just know that she resents her parents for, among other things, rendering her incapable of eating meat.
  19. You, madam, have no taste.
  20. Not studying for my calculus quiz tomorrow. Are you fond of gum?
  21. Incense reminds me of funerals and Buddhist temples.
  22. Who the hell would want to eat cheeseburgers all their life?
  23. Being too cold, I think. You can always pull on another sweater. But there are only so many layers of clothing you can pull off. That, and I hate sweating. How prepared are you for the cold?
  24. THANK YOU for pointing that out. You're welcome. ;)
  25. I'm waiting for pininfarina's designs to be released to give a shit about cell phones. Oh, and having people to talk to. That might help. FYI: Pininfarina, the Italian engineering firm that designs Ferraris, is going to be exclusively designing Motorola phones over the next 2 years.
