Having discovered that the income tax rate for low-income individuals is actually going to be raised from what it was before, I just can't support the budget. People that earn less than 20K a year and have mouths to feed and bills to pay (and are actually working for their money) need all the help they can get. Raising their income tax level hurts more than it will help.

The best matt good songs to play on guitar are the songs that you can play on guitar and have it sound like the song. I've become very fond lately of playing the North American For Life riff. I also like Prime Time Deliverance. The problem is that most of his songs are far too complex to play on just one instrument.

You will be asking other people if you speak English. "Parli Inglese?" is the way to (formally) ask someone if they speak English. "Parla Inglese?" for a less formal approach. -Not so many people speak English in Italy, as I understand it. Loudly asking if someone speaks English is not the way to accomplish things. -Everyone in Holland speaks English. Amsterdam is more English than Dutch. Alkmaar is where it's at if you want to see tall people/people not speaking English.

Eh, my grandparents are from there. For me, it's a need to find my roots. My grandparents never told me anything about life back in Holland or Italy (probably because they left just after WWII), and now that most of them are dead, I'm going to have to do some first hand figuring out. I also want to learn Italian because I never learned it from my grandparents or my dad, and I always thought there was some sort of barrier between me and my relatives because they would always speak in Italian given the chance, while I don't understand a word of it. That said, I just got accepted into the University of Western Ontario. So I'll be going there. And then, depending on how my future pans out, several years from now, I plan on going on one of those work abroad schemes to Italy, fluent in Italian from my university experience. Everyone's got to do something with their lives. Although Italy or Amsterdam are extremely cliched destinations for North American tourists, they have real significance to me.

The not lowering the flag I think is justifiable. The last time I checked, this was a combat mission, not a peacekeeping mission. When a soldier dies on a peacekeeping mission, it is particularly tragic because they are on that mission to help, and generally not in a combat role. That means the individual died because they were murdered by some extremist, or were killed by landmines, or something like that. But this is a combat mission. You don't go into a combat mission not expecting deaths. We didn't lower the flag during WWII, because it would never have gone up to full staff. By lowering the flag every time a soldier dies in a combat mission, it cheapens the meaning of the gesture. But not allowing people to see the dead soldiers' bodies returning home? That's exactly what they're doing in the U.S. right now. That just doesn't fly with me, no pun intended.

I'm just pissed off that the government is using the phrase "...Canadians..." at any possible moment. For example: "Tax cuts that Canadians will benefit from." "A budget Canadians can support." I mean, come on. We fucking know what country we're from. Stop it, it's condescending and intellectually lazy.
