For my parents this would be April Wine. MGB is the April Wine of our era. Most people are like "April who?" Then they hear a song and go ooooh yeah I recognize that. MG and MGB are that now. I work with lots of younger women in their early to late 20s who don't know who mg or mgb is but play Weapon and they go "oh yeah ok". Play time bomb though... nope sorry.

I think the whole reason why this thread has been left alone is because the admin knows people are shocked, upset and need to let their feelings out with each other this way. We've created our own little community here that's been around for years. We've interacted with each other (albeit more infrequently over the years) not just on this forum, but also, other past forum's going on 20 or more years now. People are "letting it out" so to speak and the admin is letting us do this. So that being said, I don't think you'll be banned. That's my opinion of course, but there it is. Everyone has been processing this. I know it sounds silly because he's just an artist we've listened to for years, but for some people they built Matt up in their minds to be something he wasn't and now they're devastated. It makes sense. I would guess Disappointed is the word I would use to accurately describe *most* people's emotions about this whole thing. -
It took 2 years, but I finally made my own video for my son.

This. This is how I feel. Thanks Daniel! What I said earlier (and deleted) just sounded bad. -

I used to bauk at rgb lighting but I'm starting to take a fancy to it. More so to single colour builds, like white build for example. Real nice. -

I forgot to add, the automotive industry and their need for chips is also a factor in shortages. -

Supply shortages due to covid, bots buying up supply for bit coin mining and scalping, higher demand due to increased interest in building gaming Riggs due to covid stay at home. CPU shortages are a problem as well. The popularity of smart phones and the new consoles being released. All using up supply for manufacturing. -

Ive been thinking about this and Honestly, I'm probably still going to listen to his music. Lots of artists over the years have been like him and we still listen to their music and buy their stuff. I've had the opinion for a long time that MG is not the greatest guy, but I still listened to his music and respected him as a musician. I'm not his friend, I'm never going to know him personally. He's got problems and should get help sure, but that doesn't change how good his music was/is?. I think everyone is upset and emotional right now. Give it time. -

How will he come back from this? I hope he addresses this but its one if those things where silence might be the smarter thing for now on his end. He's a smart guy so I wouldn't be surprised if he says nothing. He should just come clean and get help if this is all true. His music has been there in the background of my life for years, so like many, its been sad for me to find this stuff out. Disappointed being the most accurate way to describe how I feel. Even if say these things are proven false, he'll still be cancelled. Maybe not at the Gomeshi level, but he'll have to work on rebuilding his reputation. -

Sorry for the late reply. Yes I received my RTX 3070 sometime in the week after Christmas. I would guess probably 2-3 weeks ago. Sometime in early Dec they changed my order from the MSRP $699 base ASUS dual fan model to the $750 ASUS TUF OC version based on ASUS recommendation. I'm guessing they didn't make enough of the dual fan version thinking the TUF version would be in higher demand. It was quite large with 3080 heat syncs and back plating Anyway... I ran Cyberpunk 2077 and with all settings maxed without Ray Tracing, 1080p, it maintained a 60-90fps with 60-70 solidly with occasional dips to 50-60fps in certain situations. That's with my i5 9600k at stock. DLSS actually did nothing to help performance with Ray Tracing on and was not required when off, I think because of the CPU heavy nature of this game. Now I decided to try this game at 720p for shits and giggles. With Ray tracing on and everything maxed, the game ran over 60fps with no dips below 60fps. Overall GPU utilization was often 80-100% while CPU utilization was 70%. Definitely no real bottleneck imo for me other than maybe the CPU but not really. Also, I ordered my gpu from memoryexpress.com. It's a pretty good site but sometimes prices are higher than on amazon.ca. Since NCIX went the way of the DoDo bird, memory express has been my primary source of computer hardware. -
Thanks John. Take care.

Wouldn't it be interesting if Matt made a Christmas Album? Seriously, I think it would. What Christmas songs would you guys like to hear an MG version of. I wonder what a haunting "what child is this" by Matt Good would sound like.

Good thing I still have my MGB and MG CD's!!! Wouldn't let the wife throw those away! LOL

So I was able to order an ASUS Dual RTX 3070 video card from memoryexpress.com. If anyone is into PC gaming, you'll know that these cards are selling out within minutes of going on sale. Mine is on backorder (obviously). If anyone is interested, I could do some benchmark tests or let you guys know how its running. (Pretty sure it can run Crysis ? ) My gaming rig: CPU: Intel Core i5-9600K Processor, 3.7GHz w/ 9MB Cache RAM: HyperX Fury 32GB DDR4 2666MHz CL16 Dual Channel Kit (2 x 16GB), Black MOBO: ASUS Prime Z390-A w/ DDR4 2666, 7.1 Audio, Dual M.2, Gigabit LAN, CrossFireX / SLI Storage: Seagate BarraCuda 510 M.2 NVMe SSD GPU: ASUS Dual Fan GeForce GTX 1070 8GB oc Tower/Case: ThermalTake View 31 Tempered Glass RGB Edition Mid Tower Chassis, Black PSU: 600w PowerColor PG-600 (Recently purchased a Corsair RM750x fully modular PSU for the RTX 3070) Monitor: LG24GL650 A 24 inch, 144hz, 1080p with FreeSync Technology with TN Display Panel (FreeSync works with Nvidia cards on this monitor) Keyboard: Unicomp ultra classic white buckling spring ps2 (using the IBM tool die for the Type M) Gamepad: Xbox one controller for PC (Soon to be Xbox series X)

Perceptions on Black Lives Matter
Sly Botts replied to daniel_v's topic in Politics and Debate: WRONG!
I agree. BLM is a political movement that wants a revolution. They want to tear down our existing system and replace it with a Marxist Utopia (To simplify it). They are not just about policing, but are using police issues to their advantage. If you want better police, they need more money and training, not less. Everything you hear about "privilege" "oppressors" etc comes from Critical Race Theory and Marxist Ideology. Its a theory being touted as fact and has an almost cult like following now. (ie; see cancel culture). Sam is completely right about police. Are there corrupt police? Yeah, but defunding them or getting rid of them is an idiotic concept based on flawed ideology. It's the "Woke" cult mentality. Sorry I used a lot of buzzwords there. I just don't have the energy to completely deconstruct this issue as it is so complex and complicated. I don't deny racism exists, I'm just simplifying it to this being a political issue. -
There is a video out there on the internet somewhere of me doing an acoustic version of Apparitions with my friends. It was kind of half assed because they were asking me to do it and I wasn't prepared. I will never share the link lol.

I don't think Matt really toured Audio of Being once the band broke up so I think he probably spent time he would have been touring, on Avalanche instead. I could be wrong though but I think that's how it went down.
