Bass Effect Used For Hello Time Bomb
driftinginfluence replied to RhysOttawa's topic in Matthew Good
its a combination of effects, he's definately using a phaser, and maybe and envelope filter and something else, i'm just a guitar player so that's all i can think of -
I know, I know, I just thought I would confuse some people so I used the new name, burton cummings is a bastard andnot talented enough to deserve the nameof a theatre, probably why he had to pay (or donate, whatever) to get his name on the building. Please excuse my blasphemy.
-
right on man, well done, look forward to hearing the show.
-
i saw it live last year at the burton here in winnipeg, i don't think he played it on this tour, as of yet.
-
hah, that probably was doug, he meant no harm , just loves to sing. Goos how though.
-
Best show i've ever been to of any band, anywhere, hands down. Opend with Rat, followed by Avalanche. Me and my buddy Dave started the encore chant K-I-C-K-A-S-S and they played it. I called to Pat for a drumstick and he gave me one. I was first in line to meet Matt and he was extremly nice. He signed my hat. He was done signing and me and Dave asked him for a pic and he said "sure, one more" and we got a pic with him, Unreal show, unreal night.
-
i was thinking of them as the same tour, but if they are different I was unaware of this, since they both supported the same album. I may be wrong.
-
how did you get you camera in? did you hide it? i wanted to bring one but was afraid they'd just take it away, i'm going again tonight and I want to get some pics.
-
For starters I did it down half a step in Eb tuning. The chords i used were: G Bm Em D Cadd9 (intro and verse) Em7 D Cadd9 (chorus) then Am C (end of chourus) to go into the bridge/intro hope that helps, easy song but fun to play and sounds so good on an acoustic
-
this tour is really good. His live show is the best its ever been, as far as musicianship and his vocal abilities. Off of AOB he has currently played these four songs on this tour: Carmelina Tripoli (acoustic) Advertising on Police Cars The Rat Who Would Be King On the white light tour he played : Rat Workers Sing A Song of Mass Production Carmelina and on the avalanche tour he only played Under The Influence and pre album release in 2002 he played tripoli a few times i think. Please correct me if I'm wrong

Weapon Apparitions Strange Days In A World Called Catastrophe It's Been A While Since I Was Your Man Carmelina Anti-Pop the rest are all good but i'm too lazy + tired to finish
-
no it was a typo, apparitions was played acoustic, alert status red was played after giant with the full band like always.
-
Just got back from the Cowboys show and it was unreal. I saw him there on the Avalanche tour and it was unreal but this was the best MG/MGB show i've ever seen, amazing setlist, and i get to do it all again tommorrow. I hope Avalanche makes it onto the setlist. Note: the setlist on mg.org was inaccurate, where it says he played Alert Status Red (acoustic) it was really Apparitions (acoustic), Alert Status Red was played full band second song as mentioned. I'm sure it will be corrected.

he posted as "theoldguy" i think

sorry i hate when song titles aren't accurate, that stp song is called "creep" from the album core, the chorus says half the man i used to be" -
yes he was. and the hidden world album has some good tunes. matt also qouted the singer from that band in the opening pages of "at last there is nothing left to say"

come again? i mean everyone interprets/likes/dislikes certain things, but fine art? c'mon! lyrically one of his best.
-
is anyone recording the t-dot show? The recording from 2004 was spectacular.
-
that dune buggy was sweet, shootign for that vid must have been a blast, esp if Earndhart Jr. was driving, or actually esp if I was driving
-
Fine Art? agreed. Harold Wood, Truffle Pigs, Alltogether also fit the bill.

Pledge of Allegiance is not overtly political to me at all, only if you consider it totally literally. To qoute something i remeber Matt saying about it, the song is about pledging allegiance to yourself, and I mostly hear that when i listen to the song, it doesn't seem overtly political to me at all. I mean it's all subjective, but when he sings "I won't let you down, done letting you down" it seems as though it's directed at the self, in the context of the band breaking up and becoming a situation he despised.
