  1. if you play keys i imagine that means you can play piano pretty decent as well, we should play running for home.
  2. i was just gonna say that, somebody get me Bruce Dickenson.
  3. Born To Kill would have been great, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, that gives me an idea.
  4. I'm currently working on two original songs, "Computer" and "My Life's Work". which I hope will be done in the next little while. A cover of "workers" should be up very soon as well. Thanks guys + girls, the support is appreciated. and I thought about Suburbia, as it is one of my personal fav's of all Matt's songs, but someone (i forget who) has already done a very good version and I fear mine would sound too much alike but I may still may give it a shot perhaps.
  5. if they all sounded the same you must've missed "I Remember", the outro on that song is amazing. Damien and Lisa Hannigan, who is in his band and sings on his records, released a new song for a War Child benefit I think, but i forget what its called.
  6. Antone know anything about Damien's new album?
  7. Christine Fellows - Paper Anniversary
  8. I think Euphony was the best of the EP's.
  9. piano would have been good shit, i though we'd hear more, the piano on prime time is good
  10. hey rabbit, I would rent mics from a store such as Long + McQuade instead of buying them, you can rent a $300 mic for like $10 a month, and yes the software doesn't really matter all that much, its the hardware, i just got a decent audiocard,a barebone 10 channel in/out and it was $400 can.
  11. have atter man, I'd love to hear what you come up with, an online jam is a sweet idea
  12. advertising is basically Bm G D Asussomething(variation of A with fingers on 2 high strings thrid fret) then E
  13. The Naked bongos, while a lost art, do not have the same effect musically as they used to, it's a shame i know.
  14. Next up: The Workers Sing A Song of Mass Production
  15. Heather's Like Sunday tied with Dancing Invisible
  16. I am a singer/songwriter/guitarist living in Winnipeg and am looking for a bass player and drummer for a band focusing mostly on original material (already have a lead guitarist) I have demos available and just did a cover of Prime Time Deliverance by MGB (check the matt good forum). Other influences include but not limited to: Wilco, Jeff Buckley, The Weakerthans, Radiohead, Coldplay, The Beatles, Sloan, Weezer, Bob Dylan, old U2, The Watchmen, Pearl Jam, Limblifter among many others. Post here or email if interested. [email protected]
  17. It really depends on how much you want to spend. As for a laptop, convenience is nice but get lots of memory, as recording can take a lot, especially if you use VST instruments. As for an interface i would look into a Digidesign Mbox or similar interface made by M-Audio, they make great (for the most part) equipment, getting one with mic preamps and phantom power (48V) is key, so you can use good quality condenser mics. For mics I myself use condensers for vocals almost always, such as a small diaphram AKG1000s (which works off either phantom or a 9V battery which is nice if you don't have phantom, costs around $330 can.) or you can get a large diaphragm made by Apex for around $150 that sounds good for the price, but a dynamic will work well if its a good one such as a Shure SM58 (around $175), this mic is the industry standard for live performance.. When getting a condenser for vocals get a large diaphragh preferbly . Acoustic guitars sound best recorded with two mics, in my experience, and preferbly condensers. That's about all I can think of. Hope that helps.
  18. its been awhile had some footage taken from stills of death as well right? from ghost towns?
  19. I was wondering if anyone was completely sure of the exact tuning used on Truffle Pigs. I have tried forever to figure the song out and I've come close with the tuning (low to high) Eb Ab Db Gb Ab Db, and i remember Matt saying something about it being in an open tuning. Anyone have any info, suggestions?
  20. there is no vocal effects used except for the obvious reverb and a compressor, which is pretty standard
  21. Hey Noise Pollution, its on, but you better get your head out of your ass and learn the solo, I can't always play it. I agree the Steeples jam isn't gonna cut it, the one at Monty's was much better. Hey Scot, it's a Taylor.
