Anti-love Songs
HoboFactory replied to shenanigans87's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
Rammstein's "Rosenrot" (Rose-red) (translated) A girl saw a little rose It bloomed there in bright heights She asked her sweetheart if he could fetch it for her She wants it and that's fine So it was and so it will always be She wants it and that's the custom Whatever she wants she gets Deep wells must be dug if you want clear water Rose-red, oh Rose-red Deep waters don't run still The boy climbs the mountain in torment He doesn't really care about the view Only the little rose is on his mind He brings it to his sweetheart She wants it and that's fine So it was and so it will always be She wants it and that's the custom Whatever she wants she gets Deep wells must be dug if you want clear water Rose-red, oh Rose-red Deep waters don't run still At his boots, a stone breaks Doesn't want to be on the cliff anymore And a scream lets everyone know Both are falling to the ground She wants it and that's fine So it was and so it will always be She wants it and that's the custom Whatever she wants she gets Deep wells must be dug if you want clear water Rose-red, oh Rose-red Deep waters don't run still hmm, yet another good Rammstein one, it's sort of a poem tacked onto the ending of a song: He met a girl that was blind Shared sorrow and like-minded A star went by from heaven She wished that she could see She opened her eyes And left him in the same night -
Most of them are so good, can't pick one.

4.5/10 Just don't like them, not to mention over-rated. Apocalyptica -
well then that's their loss...IE blows chunks. itchy: My IE and FF don't autohide...so I didn't know that some do. Although I just realized the one at work does...should do that to a couple clients that'd confuse them a lot. It's probably more necessary for me than most people, because my line of work requires to me to pass chemical and hazardous material safety exams every couple of months, and only IE is supported on the site where the exams are taken.
-
Well, IE is necessary to have because some sites don't allow for anything else.

I used to use it, still do occasionally.

Seems Iranian cartoonists are to fight back. Full Article: http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/asiapcf/02/0...ests/index.html -

I tell ya, if Christians got this worked-up when various cartoonists portray Jesus, then the show Family Guy alone would have lead to the destruction of modern civilization or something. -
One time I sat on my cell phone, and when I picked it up it had apparently dialed 666, it left me mildly un-nerved for the following 5 minutes.

I think the majority of those registered here probably haven't.

Damn straight. Modest Mouse (and Ugly Casanova for that matter) seem to be responsible for most of my favorite lyrics. The blunt cynicism (often set to upbeat music) is solid gold. Such as the song "Parasites" The parasites are excited when you're dead Eyes bulging, entering your head. And all your thoughts, they rot. God and satan they gamble when you're dead Beams of light, one sprite, the other's bourbon instead And all your thoughts, they rot. It was hot and time was stickin to my skin. We're all a punchline to a joke that they won't let us in on. And all your thoughts, they rot. As for non-Modest Mouse/Ugly Casanova stuff... "Short Man On Tv" by Lodger: Receding hairline Woman that ain't mine Short man on TV He's a fucking swine Staying home to dine White bread, red wine I should be sick But I'm feeling fine I am seeing things and things look ugly and things look ugly Electric moonshine Disconnect the line Short man on TV He's a fucking swine I'm seeing things and things look ugly and things look ugly and things look ugly

From "The Thin Red Line" "It's never necessary to tell me that you think I'm right. We'll just... assume it."
-
Not this again, a lot of that stuff is just plain lies. For example, #3 has no meaning at all, as the guy's name is not an English one, it had many alternate spellings and transliterations into English, in many cases, these do not have 11 letters. The total victims on the hi-jacked was not 254, but rather 265 (2+6+5 is not 11) The verse quoted from the Quran says absolutely nothing of that nature, so that's just made up. Also, from what I understand, there was absolutely no kind of flight designation of any kind called "Q33 NY."
-
From "Gattaca" "They used to say that a child conceived in love has a greater chance of happiness; they don't say that anymore."
-
I was told this like 7 years ago, and it's proven itself to be surprisingly practical. "Never trust a naked clown."
