I'm afraid the Cunard Center is not even close to a theater venue, it's always been standing room/general audience only when I've been there. I don't know how they're going to work that with the VIP tickets. But back on topic, Avalanche with an orchestra at the Rebecca Cohn at Dalhousie... name your price. ;)

At Halifax they played some god-awful makeup song, some of their older stuff I assume. Ruined the entire vibe of their set for me, otherwise they were pretty good for an opening band. -
I think I'll be checking that show out, it sounds pretty sweet. Although I'm not digging the $199 VIP ticket price, sounds like the regular admission could be a bit on the steep side. As for Matt doing something like this - amazing as it would be to hear AoB, Avalanche or BM front to back it probably wouldn't happen. But Hospital Music - maybe? I'd still be pumped for that, I wish I had the chance to hear that tour more than once.

Yeah, I screwed that up good. I know I forgot Apparitions and I can't figure out why I put VNA twice. It was Empty's at the end, and what a way to go out. Also, it was Love Will Tear Us Apart that they started playing, and Matt then went back and got his drink, sat next to the drums and started clapping his index finger and thumb together to get the crowd going. -

Back from the Halifax show, and my right ear is still ringing. ;) Here's an attempt at the setlist: On Nights Like Tonight Last Parade The Future is X-Rated The Boy Who Could Explode Great Whales of the Sea Load Me Up Volcanoes Banter Born Losers Vancouver National Anthem Weapon --- Giant Us Remains Impossible Vancouver National Anthem Fought to Fight It fits in there somewhere too, not 100% sure where though. Someone please correct me. Milos also tossed his bass to the ground after Weapon, it was really weird. Is it just me or has he been kinda out of it lately? Matt just blew through almost half the set, he was really feeling it the whole time. Then he stopped for a sec and said "I realize I've just played like 6 songs straight and haven't said a word". So he talked about how cool it was to be playing on the water, even if it did sound cheezy, and went on for another few minutes. But that was it for banter. Band was tight, and Blake is one of the happiest/most into it drummers I've seen in a while. Stu rocked it as usual. I was disappointed at the lack of Silent Army, but it was still a pretty good show. On Nights, Empty's and Volcanoes were standouts for me. Time for bed, hope someone corrects me on that setlist tomorrow. Night folks! -

/\/\/\ Likewise, I've been waiting for it all week. Work has crawled by so slowly it's almost painful, I'm so happy I have tomorrow off ;) -
I actually got one of the shirts from last years band tour (grey with Matthew Good crest, unicorns & schtuff), but to my disappointment I got a large instead of a medium. Anyone know if there's any of these still kicking around the merch table and if they might be receptive to a trade? It's been worn once, so it's still in perfect condition.

American History X Don't know what to think of it, Edward Norton was rather good and the story in general was fine. I just felt like there could have been more to it, a little more meat on the bones if that makes any sense.

That is amazing Corm, glad to hear everything went that great! Did you put the bug in his ear to head overseas for a quick tour? ;) No kidding, Matt is a true gentleman. @Anton, hahah, that is a great picture. I was just looking around for one of those pics to compare and it looks pretty close, nice job! Do all of the proceeds go to NF? -

For a short term fix it's playing on Matt's website on the mix tape. You'll probably want to check the Lounge, I don't have a link off hand.

I'll be giving these guys a few listens for sure - for someone who whips out some Jeff Buckley like that I'm automatically giving a listen.
