  1. $20 posters? They were $10 or $15 in '08, I hope these ones are bigger.
  2. Health Canada hasn't been tracking H1N1 since August, they just lumped it in with the regular flu months ago. Of course people over 65, under 5, or with immune system deficiencies are high risk groups - they are for any type of flu. Hell, they are for most diseases. Health Canada - 1, media craze/frenzied populace - 0.
  3. Definitely, but some of it is a better deal than others even though it's all run by the same company. Though if you're pointing him to free stuff, kudos.
  4. If you don't mind walking a couple blocks, there's an IMPark lot in downtown saskatoon at 20th St. East and 2nd Ave (former location of Folk's Finer Furs), which is $3 to park all evening/night after 6. It's two blocks south of TCU Place. That's where I'd be parking, if TCU wasn't a 20-25 minute walk from my apartment. Speaking of which, I picked up my tickets for the show on the 19th today!
  5. The way people line up for the H1N1 vaccine, you'd think they'd just announced the surprise early release of Playstation 4. Guess what Santa's bringing for Christmas, kids! Just going out on a limb, but I'm guessing alcoholic beverages may give the same benefits as gargling with saltwater or drinking hot drinks. It's just not the kind of thing a doctor can publicly recommend to ward off something that's already got people freaked out. Get some boozed-up coffee and you'll be doing grand.
  6. I've known several people who've had it and apparently it's not any worse than a regular flu. Just media scares is all. If you are concerned, go out and get it now so that if it mutates and gets worse your body will have a little extra resistance to it.
  7. If you don't like it, quit. If millions quit, it dies. If millions sit and bitch but stay on, it realizes that it can do as it pleases.
  8. I like that the girl is having an orgasm while jacking his car...
  9. Hey hey, my my, rock and roll can never die.
  10. Not YouTube, but, a very important TED speech about literature/media and our views of other cultures. http://www.ted.com/talks/lang/eng/chimaman...ngle_story.html
  11. The curious part is, they're from Belgrade. Also, I had the lyrics to this song recited to me at random by a woman on the Broadway bridge.
  12. In the case of a fight, punch for the jaw and then keep going for whatever comes up. However. Last time I punched someone was a guy who had his hand around my neck, in which case I punched him in the windpipe. Cheap shot, but it's quick for survival.
  13. I'm pretty sure that the digipack was a limited release, the only new WLRRR you'll find now will be, unfortunately, jewel.
  14. Yeah, but if he were actually motivated he'd have also announced that a portion of the ticket sales were going to that same cause... Anyway, the Obama Nobel win. Aside from the "talking to Muslims" business, the one thing that Obama has done to help world peace is to foster more open dialog with Russia and scrap the missile defense bases in Eastern Europe. Not enough for a Nobel win in my books, but it is something beyond talk...
  15. Yeah, first printing with typo is now worth 50x more than the second printing without...
  16. Misprint on the vinyl (which arrived today): Disc 2 Side A [track listing] Disc 2 Side A Empty's Theme Park At least they're marked properly on the records.
  17. 'cause you know, ordinary Canadians don't take part in the arts. Fucker.

  19. I think a big part of this issue is that from any given period of time, there's always been a lot of bad music... but you only remember the good stuff, and mostly the good stuff is passed down to younger generations, while the crap is left behind.
  20. I finally figured out what wasn't quite right about this album, and I think I've got it. From the outset, I expected it to be more bitter... when he talks about Vancouver (the city) he seems to love it, but there's a lot of underlying bitterness. I half expected a couple songs along the lines of "Fuck the Olympics" to be in the track listing, I guess... Oh well. Still pretty great.
  21. 15 Celsius isn't that cold at all, I recommend wearing a t-shirt or whatever else you plan on wearing inside the venue.
  22. If you live in Ottawa and have a car/access to a car, why haven't you driven to Montreal before? I'm not trying to be funny or mean, I'm just saying, I'd have at least been curious and done it.
  23. If you're really having an issue playing the stream, I bet someone's cut up the stream and posted it on YouTube by now. Not sure if you'd be able to play YouTube videos, but it's a possibility.
  24. Yeah, the album is great, but you can totally tell that it's not a full quality stream. It's better this way, I can't wait until I can preorder the vinyl.
  25. I assume I wouldn't be paying attention to who was at the stop and would likely keep driving.
