there is a video of girls in black live from 11/14 on youtube now too. Not bad at all.
-
Well I appreciate the words but I did not record them. I just hunted them down at 5 am and found them lol.
-
well guys great news. Strange days, Protest song, and police cars, all recorded and on you tube I am working but we will get them into the you tube thread asap. They sound great!
-
The best part is converting the audio from the youtube videos and playing them on the ipod on the way to work. Hoping someone tapes tonight since it looks to be a long performance. Looking forward to hearing the songs @girl and @msdos great work also Marcy on Cloudbursting!!

There is a video from youtube during the Vancouver tour where a security guard sees a kid taping and goes to take the device and Matt literally waves the guad off and says it's ok. I'm pretty sure Matt would love to hear some good quality recordings of shows. I know at one point he had asked for submissions but the quality he was getting was the greatest. He seems to be a bootleg friendly guy which is no surprise considering a lot of his favorite bands are "bootleg friendly" Thank you to safedistance for putting the uploads into the upload thread! Looks great!

Adam, I agree with you. I can't go anywhere without seeing a camera phone rolling yet where does all the footage go? Has to be facebook or twitter. Even audio recordings have dwindled down. I know OLP has a guy who videotapes a lot of their live stuff (trusty) it would be cool if Matt had someone even if it's a family member or friend who could record some songs or clips from each show and upload them either to his site or here. Would be a great keepsake for those who were at the show and a great experience for those in the states or abroad that cannot attend. I must end my rant by saying. The one thing that irks me is if i find a video from a new show and it's of a song that we already have hundreds of videos or versions of. Example in this case Load me Up. I get it if it's your fav song you want to record it but what about the rare stuff? Or new songs just being played for their first or second time?

I had just made the thread for live video's and the acoustic sets sound great so far, Glad to see everyone who has been to a show has enjoyed themselves thus far. Praying Matt and the band all stay healthy and in great spirits.

I am at work now and can't transfer video but please post any and all 2015 Live video's in this thread for organizational purposes. Thank you and thank you to Anton!!

can we maybe have a seperate thread for youtube vids from the tour? that way we can keep them seperate. I have seen Load me up Weapon Los Alamos Army Of Lions Advertising On Police Cars Hoping to hear/see more of the new album though.
-
@ an oceanpearl those were some killer shows. Oh Be Joyful, X rated, Automatic, so many good songs. One of my favorite tours.
-
Glad to see advertising on police cars back. It was played full band 10 yrs ago. I have a few audio bootlegs with it. Was the encore song in Toronto 10-15-05, as well as 10-14-05 at club infinity in buffalo/Williamsville NY. It was also played as the encore in Edmonton on 10-29-05 . One of my favorite songs of all time. Maybe we can get Rat Who Would Be King next?!
-
Not sure why it wont let me paste the link but Army of Lions and Load me Up from Vancouver are both on youtube now in full.
-
Advertising On Policecars from last night is now on youtube! Hoping for others to pop up soon Audio sounds great and the band sounds amazing.
-
To answer an earlier question, I still haven't seen any other youtube vids. Kinda of sad was hoping to hear some of the new songs early to see how they evolve and progress throughout the tour. I think once we hit Vancouver and the bigger areas we will see more and more video surface.
-
The more I think about it the more I think "Tiger By The Tail" would make a perfect opener. What do you guys think?
-
I am extremely intrigued to hear the new songs live. One question I always had is why was anti pop never played live? Is it a hard song to play or does Matt just hate it? It is my favorite music video to this day and would love to hear it live even just once. Another song never played was In A place Of Lesser Men. Not sure if it is a difficult song to play or why it never was played live. It's odd though with both being singles.
-
Mr. Trufflepig, I was just going to post the exact same thing. Great minds think alike. I wouldn't mind hearing Strange Days and Everything Is Automatic more. Load me up can be fun if he adds snippets of cover songs to the middle of the song like he used to. My preference would be to remove alert status red and born losers completely. Maybe sub in Under the Influence and In A World Called Catastrophe?

Looks like a tremendous setlist. For any youtube hunters there is a video up of Los Alamos from the show. Hoping for more vids to be added as the weekend goes on.
-
I second Gomo on the bootleg idea. Help out your neighbors to the South :)

I have a copy of the book I am looking to sell or trade for MGB jerseys. Feel free to pm with any offers.

Wouldn't it be amazing to see a Matt and Holly duet of "Running For Home"? I saw Matt is playing 3 nights in Toronto. I could see it now "3 nights at the Danforth live cd/dvd set" I'd pay $50-$75 for all 3 nights how about you guys?
-
If it has been mentioned I apologize, but is Holly going to be performing with Matt on his upcoming tour?
-
It has often been said that with risk comes reward. Matt, would you consider the risk of having your touring band learn an older catalog of songs and maybe playing a full album each night to be worth the risk? The amount of fans who would love to hear song A or B live could certainly prove to fill a concert venue. Another money maker would be to issue t-shirts of old album covers. A beautiful midnight or Underdogs shirt would be great. Maybe film a DVD of each album live in it's entirety for people who can be there live and you have more sales. Perhaps even do a go fund me to fund the DVD'S? Many people on here would love to see It happen but what is needed to get to this point?

I had seen that floating around before but it honestly isn't an accurate representation of the music. The history teacher demo's are more just Matt not MGB. He recorded those demo's with other artists not Dave, Geoff, and Ian unless I am totally mistaken.
-
I agree. I love how certain songs you can just hit that repeat button and listen over and over and this album certainly has that. I hope that a good amount of the live shows are recorded as being in the US I am extremely jealous of anyone who gets to experience these songs live. Just absolutely phenomenal work from everyone involved. One of the things I did this weekend was listen to Matt's progress from the History Teacher demo's up to current and god how he has matured as an artist is absolutely amazing to watch happen. If you have the chance listen to each album from the 94 until 2015 and be blown away at the progression.
