I really love Los Alamos and Cold Water. They're so haunting and powerful in a way like Beautiful Midnight. With this new situation I think it has more weight to it with the love related lyrics.

Is it different from the first one?

Yeah, with Ryan's versatile talent he should easily be more acknowledged. I think Bellaclava and I/O are definitely the best Limblifter albums. I don't know that I can say one is better, but I tend to lean towards I/O being my personal favourite. I really really appreciate Irrational Anthems as well. It's not always as easy to listen to because it's so different in some ways, but DANG is it interesting in my opinion. Very unique in typical RD fashion. I think Ryan did very good on letting you be able to hear the individual instruments and vocal parts and subtleties. I hope Pacific Milk isn't too similar to Irrational Anthems since that's a solo album and we've already heard that, but I would love some of the more interesting elements from that record to come through, and I certainly hear that on Dopamine. I also want some more energetic songs since it's Limblifter. -

I/O might be the most unique rock album I've ever heard. I love how each song has a different sound/flavour, and it blends together and flows excellently. It is also one of the best produced to my ears. -
Harridan has some different vibeage for Matt me thinks. And me likes. Yet there's such familiarity. Interesting stuff. I really like the long instrumental intro to the song, it's really well done and draws you into the song.

Ok, this song (in progress) is a curveball. It sounds quite different for MG and I like it! Very curious to see where this goes.

Yeah, parts of the song remind me a little of Mounties. Megan is great on bass but she also plays double bass, cello, and clarinet on Irrational Anthems. I also love her vocal contributions on that album and hope she does lots on the new Limblifter. She's the best addition to Limblifter/Ryan Dahle's music for sure. Does anyone know if Ryan and her are married? I read something that made me think that but I don't know for sure. Hearing those drums I had to check again to see if Kurt was playing on this album because they are so good and interesting but it's Brent Follett. I'm really into Dopamine. When I heard it on a live video it sounded decent but there's so much going on in the 3 minutes of the studio version it's delicious. Can't wait for the album. -

New single Dopamine yo. It's like a cross between Limblifter and Ryan's solo album in my opinion. I like that it's sounding a little more adventurous (or whatever you'd call it) like Irrational Anthems. The bass playing and drums are sweet. https://soundcloud.com/wearebusybodies/dopamine -

It's funny how I just said what I said and now there's an official (hopefully) release date. -
I'd never heard Cloudbusting before Matt linked to it the other day, but I vote for it as well. I hear more potential for it to be interesting.

Ugh, I'll believe it if I see it. They've been talking about new album soon for many months saying probably September of last year and now saying likely March of this year. It's still only a likely and no specific date. It feels like they're just stringing us along. -
He said a while ago that he still plans to record Night Orders. I hope he means for the new album.
-
Does anyone remember the alternate version of Empty's Theme Park he did live? It's fantastic and I think I may like it as much or more than the album version. It's so different and has an awesome jam section, yet it works excellently. A fine example of why Matt is so talented, the versatility.

It's always cool when I hear of a non-Canadian Matthew Good fan, especially someone in something I've heard of. Not that I think they don't exist, I know he has fans all over as he should, but he's obviously much more known here.

If you see this and want to answer: Vibrato has been more prevalent in your singing in later years. My question is, is it an intentional increase/change or just natural in your voice and more apparent now? Sorry if this is a dumb question.

Need New Music Recommendations

That Kandle song has quite an interesting vibe Pearl. Haven't heard it before, thanks for sharing. Retarded name though. -
I'm not surprised if Bad Pennies wouldn't fit, plus the song is great the way it is. That demo you linked Tips would have probably fit well on Arrows and I really like it. It has quite a different vibe for Matt in parts. He should revisit that one. Matt: Please tell me you're recording Night Orders for the new album. That song is awesome and has some of my favourite things about your music. I think it's definitely the best demo or tied with another as the best demo you've released for this one. It really reminds me of your Vancouver album.
-
Yeah, I like the love story concept of this demo.
-
I think LOES maybe had too much of this vocal style Gomo and that's part of what could be better with that album for me, more vocal variation. I like this style depending on the music and lyrics but it can get tiring if used too much. It's used in the new demo and Los Alamos for sure but I kind of enjoy it in the case of these two songs. I'm liking the vibe of Cold Water and the mysterious aspect I'm getting from some of the lyrics to the new demos.

Thanks guys. The Warne getting better sounds seems kind of familiar so maybe I forgot. I think Warne brings out the best sound between him and Matt (makes sense with his experience), but I think Matt does a pretty good job. I think Hospital Music particularly is quite well produced.
-
What announcement? I thought he was still with Frostbyte. I also am curious as to how/where people saw that Warne was producing this one. I've looked over Matt's posts in this thread and can't find it.
-
Cool about Warne producing, I must have missed that. I disagree about the song ending on a heavy note, although it could be awesome ala Born to Kill. I think the song is almost perfect as it is. I hope this makes the album and he doesn't ruin what this demo has going on.

Yes, I love the simplicity of it as well. The ambience and mood of it is great. There's something really raw and honest feeling about it. It reminds me of something like Suburbia in a way. I'm getting really excited about this album. This is more the MG I want to hear than Arrows. Althought Arrows is really good.
