  1. I thought Matt's love for Talk Talk was very well known around here that someone else would have got it. Or is this a joke?
  2. So what do you think of the new album? I think it's pretty solid. Maybe as good as the second, definitely not as good as the first but I would never expect that anyway. In a way it might be better than the second because I thought that album had too many songs/was too long. It could have easily been cut down. This album eliminates that and is more cohesive but still has plenty technicality and whatnot. It's maybe a little more radio friendly than the first but it works as a Big Wreck album on the whole. I really didn't like the Glass Room song at first but it's growing a bit. I think it's mainly the chorus, or the first part of the chorus or whatever it is. It sounds cheesy and too poppy to me and reminds me of Third Eye Blind rather than BW. Also parts of the beginning or verses don't really sound like BW to me but other parts sound quite good. The first four songs are a really good stretch. Control is really cool. You Caught My Eye is quite good and the last song Time is a very good closer.
  3. Wait! What? Big Wreck have a new album out? I didn't even know if they were back together let alone having a new album out. That's unexpected, but kind of exciting. I'll have to check it out. I hope it doesn't just sound like his solo stuff.
  4. This Place is Death. Oh, this isn't about the Deftones' song.
  5. I rather enjoy some of the stuff on them. Option is easily the best song of the two EP's.
  6. Dang it, missed it again. Does he take them down instantly?
  7. What site is this dime at?
  8. It is just the end of the song Lights of Endangered Species I believe. It was originally released as a separate demo I think. I don't know if he had planned on it being its own song or not.
  9. Uh oh! Someone is making topics with my identity but it's not me.
  10. I quite enjoy that cover.
  11. Well Matt has certainly piqued my curiosity. From his website: "As mentioned, I’ll be on CFOX at 4pm PST on Wednesday. You might want to listen. There might be something you'll want to hear. That’s all I’m going to say."
  12. I find that surprising since it's a far less radio friendly album. Cool though.
  13. In a Place of Lesser Men started out really strong but the last few times I've listened to this album I've thought it kind of seems out of place for some reason. I think the album would flow better and be better without it.
  14. I've maintained Born to Kill for a while now. But it could change depending on what I feel like.
  15. 1) Truffle Pigs 2) Tripoli 3) The Rat Who Would Be King 4) Advertising on Police Cars 5) The Workers Sing A Song of Mass Production 6) The Fall of Man 7) Man of Action 8) Sort of a Protest Song 9) Carmelina 10) Under the Influence 11) I, The Throw Away 12) Anti-Pop
  16. 1) Born to Kill 2) Suburbia 3) I Miss New Wave 4) A Boy and His Machine Gun 5) Failing the Rorschach Test 6) Strange Days 7) Let's Get It On 8) Going All the Way 9) Load Me Up 10) The Future is X-Rated 11) Giant 12) Running For Home 13) Jenni's Song 14) Hello Time Bomb That was pretty hard and I'm really not sure how accurate it is for me but it is what I came up with for now. The album is just so good that even most of the songs near the bottom are gold.
  17. 1) While We Were Hunting Rabbits 2) Avalanche 3) House of Smoke and Mirrors 4) Weapon 5) In a World Called Catastrophe 6) Lullaby For the New World Order 7) Bright End of Nowhere 8) Near Fantastica 9) A Long Way Down 10) Double Life 11) Pledge of Allegiance 12) 21st Century Living 13) Song for the Girl
  18. I've never been to a Matthew Good show so I'll go from recordings I have. Acoustic really lets MG's voice shine, plus the more varied setlists are awesome. However, some songs just clearly sound better with the band and acoustic tends to sound a bit the same to me after a while. It depends on my mood, I dunno what to pick.
  19. Lullaby is great. One of the underrated songs from Avalanche in my opinion. I quite enjoy Double Life but I agree the album might go better without it. The album really doesn't need 21st Century Living or Song For The Girl. I really wouldn't mind if Pledge wasn't on there either, that one seems to be overrated. Other than those songs (which I don't mind at all), the album is gold. I love your picks Sensory Overload. Good job and welcome to the forum.
  20. Let's Get It On She's Got A New Disguise The Inescapable Us A Single Explosion Bright End of Nowhere are good one's I agree with. I'd also like to add: I Miss New Wave The War is Over The Boy Come Home Lullaby for the New World Order
  21. Thank you so much for doing all this techie stuff that can bring quality concerts to my ears.
