I kind of half heard it on the radio on the way to work and was kinda wondering... did he just say what i think he said??? Sure enough, i got online and checked it out and i was flabbergasted!! I'm not even a fan, but i know how good of a guitar player Darryl was and how highly regarded he was in the metal and music community... A pioneer... I'm sure there are a lot of sad people today!

I hate all the titles too! Keep it simple. Rock, Country, Rap, etc. None of all this Post-Grunge, Punk Revival, Speed Metal, etc... too many names! Nuts to them.

I don't really find Matt's music depressing at all... even though there are alot of slower songs, some with rather bleak lyrics. I think there is something about the way he sings them that makes them beautiful rather than depressing.

So, last night 54-40 had a show here in Prince George and who was their lead guitarist? None other than Dave Genn!! I'll be honest with you... i was pleasantly surprised! It was nice to hear him blast out a few cool solos and remind me of the good ol' days of MGB concerts! He is a full time member now too because they introduced him and said that they were going into the studio next week. I was hoping to run into him after the show to chat w/ him, but it didn't happen... oh well. It was still cool just to see him on stage!! By the way... the show kicked ass!
