heresy - nin god is dead and no one cares if there is a hell i'll see you there damn! i always say that the fragile is my favorite nin album, but everytime i go back to the downward spiral after not hearing it for a while, i'm blown away. edit: the becoming - nin it won't give up it wants me dead and god damn this noise inside my head

did a b.a. in linguistics. it hasn't helped get a job. it was interesting and i could always take it further if i wanted to.

i didn't have time to watch yours earlier. i'll tell ya...it took all my patience to get to the good part in that second one. jose's is still my fav. those virtuoso guys just lack something. i get to the end, and i know what i just heard was impressive, but i'm not moved. with the joey solo and the jose solo, i get to the end and i'm feeling: "fuck yeah!". it's the same with guitar virtuosos like vai and satriani. i bought 'surfing with the alien' by satch, and it ended up in my garbage can before i got through the whole cd. and what's with virtuosos and the cheese factor? that backing music on the second one, with the vocal samples, was too much ;) anyway...end rant.

this is my favorite drum solo, after john bonhams solo on moby dick (on the led zeppelin dvd set). there's not much going on with that slipknot one, i guess, but they're more about the spectacle than anything else.

joey jordison (slipknot) drum solo live. i can't speak much about technical proficiency, cuz i'm not a drummer, but he ends up rotating vertically, on a glowing pentagram.
