  1. just ordered 'the way of the gun' and 'project x'.
  2. in your honor is the only foo album (disc one of, anyway) that i like every song on.
  3. ;) is it 'shaun of the dead' good?
  4. deja vu. it was pretty good. weirdest car chase i've ever seen. not sure i could drive in the present and four days ago at the same time.
  5. in the futureshop flyer today, they had listed, as a 'special feature' of the album, that it included the first single. ;) looks like the word 'special' is going the way of the word 'extreme'.
  6. rude and reckless - slackers I asked my father for some advice He answered quickly, he didn't think twice He said a thinkin' man don't do too much Know what your doing and do as you must And learn to be rude and reckless Don't make a fuss You have to be rude and reckless Do as you must You have to be hard and callous In your heart and your hand Learn to be rude and reckless It'll make you a man
  7. so...did you like mechanical animals? d.r.i.?
  8. it's good. worth having. i like truthfully truthfully more, but there's some sweet songs on the new one, too. hey monochrome: do you have any idea where ashtray rock is/was?
  9. just deleted the album off my computer.
  10. beth: your opinions of mechanical animals, damaged, live 1994, and aging gracefully? this is the 'i wonder what beth thinks of this?' thread to me. ever since you liked the frenetics, and since you download it all.
  11. bought it this afternoon. ripping it right now ;)
  12. i had to share this one, cuz i found it the other day while looking for another particular album, bought it on chance, and love it to pieces. aging gracefully disc one aging gracefully disc two it's a live bootleg of a show in san fransisco in '96. it's good enough quality to have been an official release. only a couple tiny blips on two songs, and two mislabelled songs that i fixed before uploading.
  13. oops...i think there was a newer thread about dreams, but i found this one first. i hardly ever remember mine, unless they're about women or i wake up terrified, like the above one.
  14. i had a wonderful nightmare last night. it was pretty vivid. i was walking down the street with some friends. we were going to the bar. the only person i remember specifically is the 'star' of the dream: a former friend turned cokehead (he may be off the coke now..i don't know...i don't talk to him anymore) that i no longer associate with. in the dream, he was walking ahead of me, and i noticed that he was wearing a bullet proof vest. i don't remember if it was over his shirt or just bulging under, but i remember noticing one. and he was stumbling, already drunk. this bothered me, so i walked up to him and whispered "are you packin'?". to this, he responded by pulling out a gun, pointing it in my face, and screaming something...i don't remember what. next thing, i'm helping him home. he's tanked and slumped over my shoulder, and i'm helping him walk back to his house. then, some prick rides up on a bike and says something stupid. i don't remember what. i told him to fuck off, or something like that. he persisted, so i kicked the wheel on his bike, kinda throwing him off balance. he then says something about me being fucked now, cuz 'here comes his brother/friend'...i can't remember what it was. and so here comes this guy with a weapon, towards us. a bat, or sword or something. next thing i remember, my drunk friend pulls out his gun, puts two into the guy with the weapon, screams something, and puts two into the other guy. he screams again, and then plugs the first guy once or twice more on the ground. i'm freaking at this point, and grab the gun outta his hand and throw it on the ground. then i'm about to run off, but kinda stop and half-heartedly try to wipe my prints off the gun, then i start to take off again. i'm totally panicking now, and decide that i hadn't really got my prints off the gun so i might as well stay and wait for the cops, cuz they're gonna find me anyway. at this point, i woke up with a racing heartbeat thinking "oh fuck, i'm in trouble!!" then i realized it was a dream, and i felt a wave of relief come over me. i haven't had a dream that violent in a long time. i'm sure it was influenced by the events of yesterday, even though i've managed to avoid that story to a great extent, and also the last episode of the sopranos. specifically the execution/hit scene in the restaurant.
  15. i'll be glad to get rid of them. they're just husks to me after i suck the juicy music out of them ;) and i thought the code word was 'underpants'? (which makes my above sentence really kinda funny)
  16. elvis costello (declan mcmanus) > elvis presley
  17. really important for the listening experience. if he'd put a much time into the songs as into marketing, maybe he could have put out a good album.
  18. i don't see fucking harvey birdman, attorney at law, on that list.
  19. elvis costello - brutal youth elvis costello - aging gracefully (live bootleg by some yugoslavian company ;) ) bought them used, so i payed what cds should cost.
  20. there is no fucking way it's gonna be better than the original. the best it could be is a reasonable cover. it was perfect to begin with. you can't improve on perfection. edit: in my very humble opinion, of course.
  21. SPOILER (Highlight to View) shit...phil wants a war now, and christopher's gonna get hit as pay back.
  22. some distant runners up: death cab for cutie - i will follow you into the dark this one redeemed coldplay for me, after hating the guts out of 'yellow': coldplay - the scientist radiohead - high and dry
  23. i don't want all the halos, either. i bought the 'perfect drug' 'halo' and was totally pissed off to find out it didn't have the original version on it (my favorite nin song!!). i no longer have that halo. i'm not huge on remixes. especially by other artists.
