i recently read that in 6 years, there will be no more sitka spruce left, if current practices are held. one company owns all the land in alaska that they grow on and they clear cut and ship most of the wood to asia for housing. these trees have to be at least 250 years old before they are of any good for manufacturing guitars, so it's not like they can just plant some more. if you're in the market for a new acoustic, you might consider something with a sitka spruce top while you still can. if you have one with a sitka spruce top, i'd hang on to it.

that kinda happened to me two weeks ago. i woke up and there were two or three dried drops of blood on my pillow and crusted blood around my nose. maybe we'e in some crazy fight club for sleepwalkers that we don't know about ;)

the slackers are the only ska band i still listen to. they are above and beyond the other shit. if you're ever curious, i highly recommend the albums 'close my eyes' and 'the question' as starting points. i uploaded one of their live albums, but, honestly, that is the lesser (way lesser) of their two live albums and there's only a few songs on it i listen to. it's just the only one i have available to rip as mp3s ;)
