big yay!!! i love downward is heavenward. and you'd prefer an astronaut is good, but not as good. don't bother with their stuff from before that, imho. i went hum-nuts a few years ago, and collected everything they released, and the albums you mentioned are the only two good ones. they hadn't found their sound before that. i keep hoping they'll get back together.

pan's labyrinth: wish i hadn't dropped spanish after 3 classes cuz my download didn't have subtitles. regardless, i liked it. night at the museum: cute/funny. plus it had cavemen and monkeys. always a bonus.

let's not forget that i'm the only one here who thinks kid a is garbage. anyway, i listened to them. i like them, but don't love them. their clean sound is really good, but as soon as they kick in the distortion, it sounds like someone threw blankets over the amps. the distorted sound just has this far away, muffled quality. still...that's my only complaint, and it's not a huge one. i don't see the muse/mars volta connection. they don't sound enough like radiohead to sound like muse (hi-oh!), and i didn't want to stab my ears with pencils when i heard the vocals, so they aren't close to mars volta. they actually reminded me of the cranberries, vocally, on a couple songs. either seafarer's knot or granny niblo, and kyla cries cologne. so they're staying in the collection. didn't delete them as soon as i was done. quince was my favorite song, and i'll, at the very least, listen to that one again (no distorted parts). ooh...and props to mogwai for the happy tree friends sample at the end of their album ;)

i'm gonna let me decide for me. and shade: mogwai's cool, but it's probably something i'd listen to late at night, instead of first thing in the morning, like i am now.

no one agrees with me on that. s'alright. i tried hard to get into that album, but it just doesn't do it for me. i guess it's not their worst. amnesiac was just as bad.

kid a = worst radiohead record (their first may be more boring, though) around the fur = still the best deftones record.
