  1. also, beth: the last track on that wilco album you sent me is labelled wrong. its an alternate version of shot in the arm, not in a future age ;) anyway, i liked the album. more so the melancholy stuff than the upbeat stuff. there was a little 'twang' but i don't mind (and actually like) a little bit 'o' twang. i just loathe country style vocals/twang, and country style slide guitar. ick.
  2. see..this is why i miss you when you go! beth - i'm listening to wilco right now. i'm as far as 'we're just friends'. i like it so far. good voice, good sound. i wanted to check them out, but i've heard that they had a 'country sound' at some point, so i wasn't sure where to start. and holy shit, girl...320kbps?
  3. yeah...i thought transporter 2 would be great.
  4. and i'm downloading summerteeth, your personal favourite. edit: i'm also downloading three stabbing westward albums, so it's gonna take a while.
  5. wow. seriously? kudos, sir. he's done some wicked songs with the slackers too ('close my eyes' is one of my favorite songs ever), but if you can't get into the trad ska sound, it might not be your thing. too bad, cuz that's his main gig.
  6. could one of you nuts upload a wilco album for me? never heard them and i'm curious.
  7. historically, sequels either blow, or just aren't as good as the first. usually. i'll watch it expecting the worst and hoping for the best.
  8. clams have feelings too (actually they don't) - nofx No chowder for you, cause clams have feelings too Actually they don
  9. i was at the counter, buying a cd, and asked what they do with the promo posters in the windows when they take them down. i forget exactly what he said, but i asked if i could have one of the feist ones, and he said one was spoken for, but i could have the other one. left my name and number. hopefully, i actually get it.
  10. i just reserved one of the posters for 'the reminder' that cd plus has up in its window ;)
  11. tori amos - from the choirgirl hotel
  12. i mean you probably don't feel guilty about doing it. it's a compliment, fucker. fuck...
  13. shade doesn't strike me as the type to have guilty pleasures.
  14. what do you see in linkin park, shade? it kinda baffles me. you have such a seemingly high standard for music, so what does linkin park bring to the table?
  15. marble cheddar on triscuits, and honey and wheat sun chips.
  16. agreed. when he came riding back into town on that horse...oh man!!! ;)
  17. to hell with you and all your friends --always loved that line.
  18. barbecued hamburgers. tis the season.
  19. foggy-minded ramblings aside, here monochrome: living in sin/understanding new jersey two older ruggiero records re-released on one disc. kind of a different sound than the acoustic one i uploaded. still chilled-out, though. 'sole are fish for boots' is some bizarre stream of consciousness thing. my favs are probably 'papa told me' and 'the cat'. edit: actually, i love 'papa told me'.
  20. *sigh*...alright, but this is just a humble, fluxuating opinion. and keep in mind it's the first thing in the morning for me now. punk is dead, like i said, because it is accepted. the idea in the first place was to revolt against what was seen as the overbloated stadium rock of the 70's. being a punk was about being different. being the outsider with the other outsiders. pissing off 'the man' and society. it's 30 years later, and guess what? screaming 'fuck bush' into a microphone over top steady 8th note barre chords, or wearing a patched up jacket and a mohawk are no big deal. no one blinks. if you look at shit like the warped tour, and that transplants song in a shampoo commercial, it's not hard to see how it's been absorbed into society. it's lost it's edge. it's dead.
  21. holy shit, thanks dude. i downloaded dirty three's stuff and i'm listening to their last album right now. i dig it very much. i read on wiki that they've changed a bunch from album to album, so i look forward to working my way back through their stuff.
  22. not really, but i'm not gonna get into it in shade's wonderful thread.
  23. not happenin'. i can upload his old one, if you like, but if you already know you like vic ruggiero and you want the new stuff, go to interpunk.com and order it yourself ;) or wait a couple years and i won't feel like i'm screwing over the little guy by giving away his music.
