most annoying thing about myself to other people, probably: my eeyore-like complaining or smart-assedness. most annoying thing about myself to me: my borderline anthropophobia

this is the one i had: http://www.amazon.ca/Mdfmk/dp/B00004S51M/s...ie=UTF8&s=music and pro-test is cool, but that whole album isn't really the best representation of their work. 'too dark park' was the one i was recommended as their best, and i've seen it listed as a lot of fans' favorite. you're right, though, about nothing really standing out. i kept everything except their first two albums cuz i couldn't decide which to keep as a representation. they now fill the space for creepy, electronic music in my collection. -

top five videos....does tool have five videos? edit: they do, so in no particular order sober stinkfist parabola prison sex schism i didn't know there was a video for aenema till i just looked them up, so i haven't seen that, and the video for hush was before they started making 'tool videos', so lacks the 'whoa..cool' factor of their other stuff.

top five presentations of the middle finger: 1. the 'i've got something in my pocket for ya...hold on...oh wait..here it is..the middle finger!' 2. the 'trumpeter holding a note with middle finger extended' (see jim carry in one movie or another) 3. the 'i'm blowing up a balloon for you...oh wait..it's the middle finger!' 4. the 'am i giving you the middle finger? you can't tell cuz i'm covering it with my other hand' a la steven colbert 5. the 'peace...here's your half'

i gave them a listen last night and they pretty good. but later i listened to foundation, under an indian sky, and ocean by john butler, all back to back, and was blown away again. my original opinion stands: best thing outta australia since the didgeridoo. -

i gave kmfdm (and mdfmk) a try a while back. didn't like them very much. mdfmk??? Hah, I guess since you didn't like them, you wouldn't get the reference... KMFDM have a song called "Sucks" in which they sing about how much they suck. One of the cool things about them. nah, i got the reference from Sparq's post. i'm not saying they suck, really, i just didn't like them much. and mdfmk was kmfdm with one less member, er something like that. they only had one album with that name. -
when you've got a head full of acid, it doesn't matter how complicated it was to build something. those drops in that clock are always the same shape and color. the blobs in a lava lamp have subtle variations in their color and are constantly morphing, soft shapes. very pleasing.

i'm downloading it, but i just read the description on amazon and i'll be honest: the words "gospel choir" leave me with doubts as to whether i'll like it or not. i almost hope i don't just cuz it's their 13th album and i hate playing catch-up. -
no more trippy than a lava lamp.

i've heard both those songs ( i got pretty much their whole discography). i've never heard of nick cave, though. i'll look into it. -

have to add "ocean" by john butler to the list. was gonna just edit my last post to include it, instead of having three posts in a row, but editing must be time sensitive. edit: and now i have to add "under an indian sky" -

ocean is an amazing song! listened to the live version yesterday, and i'm listening to the studio version right now. their live stuff is great. lots of extended jams. -
kinda the feeling i got from the trailer. reminded me of "waking life" for some reason.
