  1. Well I tried to be positive and constructive. I even pointed out that there was to much negativity. I guess those words fell on deaf ears, but I can't say I would act any differently anyway. Peace
  2. History Teacher isn't an official release. It is a number of bootlegged tracks mainly those off Matt's demos. Peace

    Please Help

;) That is the most trumped up bullshit you have ever posted Scot. If you don't like the way Anton and the staff run this board then leave. Better yet, why don't you discuss your concerns with them. If you have a better way of doing things, then I'm sure that the staff would be happy to hear about it. If you actually want to see changes, then you should approach the matter in a more effective way. Anton pays for the hosting, and the bandwidth that we each use. He is also the guy that spends the time writing the site. Your not going to see any results from being an ass. Peace
  4. Well now hasn't this spiraled out of control. I will admit, a lot of people on this board are very over critical of the cover. I have a lot of respect for somebody who has the guts to put their work on the internet, where other people could so viciously criticize it. In reference to KALIDEL (even though he's banned): Except for his gratuitous insults I agree with him up to a point: "HE AUDACITY TO ACTUALLY MAKE A THREAD ON THIS GUY WHO IS JUST SHOWING HIS INTERESTS AND HOBBIES TO THE INTERNET?" Although I don't think the audacity is in making the thread, but more the negative direction this thread has taken. Oh and FYI most of the people here have jobs, or are studying in higher education. I think that's all that is left to be said. If Gomo is still out there, I would like to apologize for the negativity of this thread. It started out unduly negative, and doesn't appear to have got any better. Peace
  5. If Anton is on the ball, he'll fix it. (or any of the other mods) Peace
  6. You can encode people to hate anything. For years the americans had a fear of "the black man". Now it's fear of "the middle eastern man". Changing how we word something is a common practice in rationalization. The US government will rationalize the torture. Unfortunately many americans will accept that rationalization. Peace
  7. "Would a rose by any other name still smell as sweet?" Would torture, genocide, and killing of the innocent be any less rotten by any other name? Apparently if you run the US government PR department yes. Peace
  8. Lifting the Shadows of a Dream - Dream Theater weighing back in... Peace
  9. I agree (provided you are talking about gomo's cover). Peace
  10. Prof. KO teaches Digital Systems, and such classes. I would be up to recording a brief MG sound bite. Weapon would be the easiest track, since the instrumentation is freely available (it would require you to actually play the track). Peace
  11. God fucking damn-it. Look Yasa, All I was saying was that both you and MrManInvisible quoted the post that was directly above yours. I'm perfectly familiar with debate, but it is not necessary for you to quote something that was just said. Tell me, in conversation when somebody makes an argument do you immediately repeat their statement before making a retort? NO, because everybody involved in the conversation already knows what was said. Also if you want to talk about using quotation for credible evidence, then you should also note, that almost never is it necessary for you to quote a statement in it's entirety. The use of a concept known as synopsis may be more appropriate. Now this little rant is sufficiently ;) pearanoid: Thank you for your post, it's nice to see that somebody is capable of not nitpicking the obvious. I believe you that Jen is a nice person. As I said in a previous post, I respect anybody who goes out to protest for what they believe in. There was a lot of attacks about the credibility of Jen's protest because of choices she has made in past. As I said before, if you decide that something isn't right, then you can only be called a hypocrite for choices you make that countermand that, if you make them after your decision. We cannot have always know what we would later decide is wrong. We can only change our future. bedseed: What are we drinking, where and when? Peace
  12. My "Good" it's like a religion in here. I got no problem with this guy's cover. I guess now I know if I ever cover some MG I won't post a link here. If you want to hear a bad cover check this out: http://www.ele.uri.edu/~kosby/lovingyou.mp3 That's one of my Prof's signing "Still Loving You" by the Scorpions Since you can't understand most of the lyrics, here's a link to the real lyrics http://www.lyricsfreak.com/s/scorpions/122510.html You gotta give gomo some credit, and if you don't, I'd like to here your cover please. There are only two people on this board who can criticize this guy, and that's because they have the balls to put up links to some of their own work. Peace
  13. Is it really necessary to quote the post appearing directly above your reply? I think we have reached an in-pass in this debate. I think both sides have presented their arguments, and clarified them completely. All that remains is to agree to disagree. Peace
  14. Point taken... sorry that I was a little terse, it was uncalled for. Peace
  15. Oh please (read the thread before your post). That aside. I have to make a point, although I will be perpetuating the off topic direction of this thread. It has only recently become possible to actual construct a healthy diet with out meat. For a large part many protein supplements/substitutes require a variety of vegetables not exclusively available in all places. Now as has been said before, can we head back onto topic? For all of the vegetarian debate, you could argue it in another thread ( http://www.nearfantastica.com/bored/index....wtopic=2841&hl= ) or start your own thread. Peace
  16. I think you make a point. It is impossible for an observer to know why each protester is present. We would then attribute the overall motivation of the protest to all of the protesters. By that logic, if the protest was to expand to the other store, then all of the protesters would be protesting both stores for their choice to sell fur. I believe the remaining statement can go unsaid. I will say that I respect anybody who has the integrity to go out and protest against something that they believe in. By that right, they should not be held at fault for their history, but only for their future. We cannot call somebody a hypocrite for at some point acting contra to their current believes. Almost all vegetarians at some point ate meat. Does that make their view on the meat industry less valid. To extend that, many anti-drug associations have members that where once addicts, does that make the association any less valid. Peace
  17. 10/10 Peace
  18. Before I start, I must say that I am not completely familiar with PETA or the exact context of the their statements about neutering. Population control in human pet animals is essential to the human treatment of domesticated animals. I must make the point that human treatment does not autonomically preclude domestication. When pet animals are allowed to breed uncontrolled, their is a large degree of strain on the animal shelters. A large number of unwanted puppies/kittens find their way to animal shelters where, if not adopted, they are (unfortunately) destroyed. All to often however animals do not find their way to a shelter, and are forced to live in poor environments. Spaying and neutering isolates the breeding population for animals. I creates a situation where the number of pets in supply matches the number of caring households that desire a pet. Yes, humans removing their intervention with wild animal species is desirable. But for species where we have already intervened we must take care to ensure that the changes we have forced upon those animals is not cruel. Many existing dog and cat breeds are the product of years of breeding manipulation. Many of these breeds lack the traits to exist outside of a domestic environment. Unfortunately we cannot turn back the clock on what our ancestors have done. We can however, take responsibility for it. Peace
  19. I wonder if it will be like the book at all... Peace
  20. yo yo, anybody still looking for a Lo-Fi: http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...=ADME:B:SS:CA:1 Peace
  21. SATANS Penis (it would be a really big band ;) ) Peace
  22. I is possible to solve all of world hunger, and fresh water problems using only a portion of what the US spends on military each year. Peace
  23. "Just another fucked up reason for selling off some freedom that was never free" As slowly the united states chips away at human rights around the world. Peace
  24. I hope you don't take offense to this, but you kind of do sound like Matt. But your style is certainly unique to you. Other than the quality of the recording, I don't think I can find any fault in your work. Are there any tracks from the album available for download? Peace
  25. I can't add anything to that, nice post Greg. Peace
