You know if you have a flag like the Union-jack, or Japan's flag, it's impossible to invert. Peace

As an Electrical Engineer, and member of the IEEE (International society of Electrical & Electronic Engineers) I receive a monthly publication called Spectrum. In Octobers Spectrum there is an article titled "Et Tu, E-Voting?" The article has a number of comments on the E-Voting systems: "In election after election, machines have crashed or failed to boot up at all, or experienced other software glitches or power-related hardware problems. Perplexed, under-trained operators only made matters worse". "But in their rush to deploy the new technology, voting officials are in some cases giving up on one of the fundamental requirements of a well-run election: the ability to do an independent recount". The article is strangely prophetic of the event of this week. It makes a few comments about a close race, and an uproar this November. Peace

Apparently your only human if your American. It's sad really... that other countries and cultures are expendable in the US view. Peace

Most camera's that people have require the flash. They are incapable of adjusting the aperture and shutter speed to one's that are appropriate for correct exposure. In a concert situation you need a shutter of 1/125 to stop stage motion, but that means that the aperture will need to be in the region of f3 or f1.5. Most lens found on standard digital and film camera's just can't handle that. That said I have seen a number of decent shots from concerts. If I tried to take my camera to a show I know they wouldn't like it... I have a high quality SLR so it's a bit of a beast. To clarify every show I have every attended had a no camera ban, and every show I of his I have ever looked up had a ban: (from ticketmaster.com) For Hamilton: NO CAMERAS OR RECORDERS ARE ALLOWED AT THIS EVENT. Peace
-
;) But we just put in a rule against that... I believe the penalty is immediate banning... Sorry Georgee Peace

;) Indeed. You are correct that the US foreign policy sucked for a long time before Bush. I agree that Kerry would not have been a god send either. The point many have argued is that by re-electing Bush the American people have endorsed his actions. Please don't debate that here... I'm sure there is another thread around where that particular debate would be more pertinent. At this point I'm not sure this thread can go anywhere else than to be an argument about Bush... which we have plenty of threads about that already. Jen, your welcome. I prefer to try to debate in a civil manner. If I just drop F-bombs right and left, and generally bash people and ideas. I would never have a good discussion. The whole thing would be an argument. Arguments make people defensive. Then the message gets lost since everything becomes an attack. Peace

Jen, I would like to thank you for being open and honest. I respect your opinions about gay marriage and abortion (although I do not agree, those issues have a time and place to be discussed, and that is not here). I would also like to add then I find it at least comforting that your reasons do not include "the threat of terror", or "Bush already had a fantastic term". You have made a personal decision, and it was yours to make. There are a number of rational reasons people could use to argue whether or not you are right. Unfortunately it appears in this forum all of those reasons fall muted to the onslaught of meaningless Bush bashing. I try to keep my posts rational. I try to make sure that I articulate myself as to not sound like I am arbitrarily attacking Bush (although I realize that many of my posts are critical of him). You have made a decision, and you, as the rest of America, and also the rest of the world, will have to live with it. Only the next four years will tell what Mr. Bush is capable of. Only the next four years will show him to be the right kind of American president for just America, or the right king of American president for the world. Peace

All concerts Matt performs has a clear stipulation of no cameras, video cameras, or recording devices. When you sneak you camera in, there is little he can do since it is so hard to pinpoint the source of a flash... especially with all those lights in your eyes. But if your standing there with a handheld video camera, what do you expect. I think that anybody who gets caught taping one of Matt's shows deserves everything they get. It's disrespectful to him. I'm surprised she wasn't thrown out. Btw, I never take my camera to an MG show. I did try to get an interview for my university news paper, but the administration there is too slow. Peace

Is it even possible to have an abortion if your not able to legally consent? I mean doesn't the clinic require consent? I'm not familiar with the process. Peace

Well at least there is a light at the end of the tunnel... But we must ask ourselves, is Bush really the problem. Or is it more likely that the problem is the fundamental ideology he represents? I do not believe that Bush is the ultimate evil: http://randomfoo.net/junk/200410/what_barry_says.mov Peace

BAH! Aliens was a trilogy, then they wanted more money. They fabricated a totally dumb story-line to justify a sequel. I would say that resurrected is more like a spin off. Peace

Cheers to your rant. I found it an apt expression of what I'm feeling as well Peace

Although I feel I have stated my disagreement with Bush. I see your point. I would like to ask though: When did bringing up his personal and immediate failures become bashing. I mean maybe that's why so many people voted for him... They for got about the fact you now have a national debt, for a national treasury that was over twice the magnitude of the debt in the positive at the start of Bush's term. Maybe they forgot about the missing weapons of mass destruction, or the soldiers dead in Iraq, or the grievous human rights targets in Dafur that the US refuses to deal with, or --- I digress... I agree it was gutsy to say you support the man. I would like to ask you your reasons, so that we could have a civil discussion about them (I wasn't trying to attack you above), but I fear in this forum you would be liable to extreme bashing. I do not understand the reasons, and most of us are pretty shocked he won, with a 51% lead. Peace

We stand here, on the precipice of a new order. We watch with morbid fascination. As the cities start to burn. The snake has won again. Outraged we writhe in pain. Shaking we lick our wound. Peace

No he's right. Removing bush would not guaranty a stop to the death in Iraq. But I fear that 4 more years of Bush will result in other invasions, and more killing. Peace

Any Canadians Want A Mail-order American Husband?
ToadMan replied to Agent_99's topic in Politics and Debate: WRONG!
In a way I find it comforting that all the americans I know are almost embarrassed by there own country. It shows that the people I know are enlightened, responsible human beings. Peace -
Even if Kerry scraps a victory (it all comes down to Ohio) the damage is done. Americans needed to vote out Bush, not because Kerry is better, but because Bush is reckless. The damage is done. 51% of Americans have voted Bush. To those 51% I would like to thank you. I feel that I can now call the majority of you morons. Morons that can't even be bothered to think beyond their own little lives. To the remaining 49% I would like to thank you, for doing the right thing. Whether or not you believe Kerry to be a better candidate for president, you voted for change, you voted to show the world that you are not happy with Bush. This is a sad day. A sad day for the countless thousands that may die in the coming four year, so that Bush and his cohorts can make more money. It is a sad day for Americans, they have proven to the world that the majority of them are self-centered arrogant fucks. Peace - lord help us to have it.

I was doing homework until 2:30am... so I kept checking the results. Peace

269 / 211 Bush only needs one vote to win... It is indeed a sad day for the world. Peace

I remember when he did a version of symbolistic white walls... I think that was on the Avalanche tour. Peace

Man if Bush wins Canada is going to have a population influx. Peace

mBlog -- that is a direct quotation from mBlog. Peace

American's are apparently considering this to be the most important election of their lifetime. I saw footage that a record number of people where out for the early vote. Let's just hope that it's because they want bush out. Peace

Yes, let's not have this argument. If this post is another hoax, then so what, the hoax's will continue as long as we react. However, if this is not a hoax, then we're just making asses of ourselves. Peace
