  1. gah, odeon.
  2. Never had a problem... but toast might be a good option... I suppose we should check if you are running iTunes on a Mac or on a PC. Another option to check is to scale back the write speed to 1 or 2 steps lower than maximum. If you're machine has a minor buffer underrun, then some of the track data could be getting corrupted. That's all I really know.
  3. He does NOW... he didn't when I last check before that post.
  4. I think there are a lot of politics that we won't (and rightly so) ever know about whirling about why he no longer talks to some of his former acquaintances.
  5. If I where Matt, I would skip over that shit hole too. Which is why I don't blame him for skipping over my shit hole (Saskatoon).
  6. refresh?
  7. I've been booking hotels since I was 17... as long as you have a credit card, most hotels don't give a shit. I suppose supper high end places might, but your regular travel lodge doesn't.

    Rico?

I'm going to have to say that I think Middle Class Gangster is a more meaningful song than Rico.
  9. If I remember a post on MG's blog, there will be no full band dates in the US, since getting all of the (employed) band members the correct permits is a bitch. In terms of Passports, if you fly, you NEED one. Ground travel is ok right now, but having a passport is a good idea anyway.

    Rico?

"And if your friends don't like it, you can tell them from me to take off take off take off" is the muchmusic family friendly version... I think.

    Rico?

I'll field this. It's a reference to a couple of things, but mainly it's a dig at all of the people who go to Matt's acoustic concerts and yell "rico".
  12. It seems like an independent financial planner would only make money by charging you for a consult. I wouldn't sell it, it's not going to give you a long term solution. Since you are going to end up bound to a strict budget in the end, why sell the disk? Unless you honestly value some paltry entertainment now higher than the continued possession of the disk.
  13. I want to clarify something about this debate from my point of view. This is more so for my own edification. One of the aspects that I agreed with is that this petition didn't call for the outright ban of taser guns (as the title of this thread would imply) but for the reconsideration of regulations. To clarify my own point of view, I don't see tasers as necessarily bad. What I see is that it is a device which requires correct training and use. If indeed officers are using tasers in situations that merit them (and not being an ethics expert, I'm not qualified to answer what merits use); and when used they are used in a manor which firstly mitigates risk form the office, and secondly minimizes risk to the person being apprehended, then I have no problem with them. Forgive the comma splice, I'm too tired to fix it.
  14. Yes... You can do it in iTunes, but importing and converting. Alternately you can check out these: http://versiontracker.com/php/qs.php?pg=1&...nseType&dir=asc
  15. I would like to nominate Rock Band... although that really only applies as a 2007 unless you are American, or a Canadian with a friend that frequently visits America.
  16. I find it ironic that stores actually stock up for boxing day sales... I thought the hole point was to get ride of the over stock they had from stocking up for christmas. Since most of the sales last all week, I rarely go out until afternoon... and usually it's to pick up something I need, not to get a deal.
  17. Well I have a simple solution. Just delay when someone can use their NF$... so they are useless for say 1 month... that would slow them down at least.
  18. A cynic could even say that cutting the GST is a way to protect the rich, as they buy more.
  19. ;) Can you boot more than one Linux flavor?
  20. I'm not sure what all the fuss is about loading OSX onto a PC. There isn't any driver support, and there isn't going to be. So it seems pretty risky. You might end up running on only generics. If you want a mac, then it might be best to buy one... besides, you can duel boot windows on it, so you can still play games.
  21. I love spam!
  22. ;) oh snap
  23. Well clearly this is stale. I'm going to state this once, you can agree or disagree as you like. In modern academic writing the word 'man' is not permissible as a generic since it is sexist. This might go against the dictionary definition but it is the way things are. I cited MLA and APA, if you where in academia you would know that they are by large considered the authority on writing. You can chose to use 'man' as a generic, but I will with near certainty guaranty that if you did in a scholarly paper you would be told it is incorrect. And as one last question, which dictionary? (Oxfords?, Websters?)
  24. That sounds all to familiar. I have cable internet, every few months the company calls me and says that they aren't getting a signal from my digital cable box, and can they ping it. The first time I said, well everything is working but go ahead. This caused my cable and internet to stop working, and it took 1 week and 2 different service techs to fix it. Since then I have told them that I don't care, and will call them if it breaks. And my new suggestion is "phreaking 2700"
  25. If you had followed any of my links you would know that the correct replacement is to restructure your sentence and use 'humanity', or 'humankind' "A person's life..." "Humankind is the only..." I would argue that this is inherently correct, as most god's are projected as being mail. However, "Humanity create gods in their own..." "Human kind is by nature..."
