  1. Not reading anything currently, but have recently finished up The Killing Joke and The Long Halloween, two stories that heavily influenced The Dark Knight film.
  2. Currently watching Steve Wilkos. LOL LOL LOL
  3. My birthday is in a month. I want a cake.
  4. I don't think it really matters what I call it, as long as the point gets across ;)
  5. Some of my fondest childhood memories are of Blades of Steel- from the 21 to 0 embarrassment I caused one of my friends, to my 6-2 win over one of my old hockey teammates, which was one of the most intense games of videogame hockey I have gone through with someone. Anyhow, I dl'd the 2K9 demo, and I'm not digging it. Graphically it isn't bad, but not as crisp as I've found EA's graphics to be. Skating feels like you're trying to control any character in a Resident Evil game (pre RE4, mind you), they feel like tanks. I don't like their use of the "pro stick evolution". Feels kinda clunky and unresponsive, and the control scheme is kinda retardedly complicated, but then again, it could be because I haven't played a 2K game since 2K6 and I didn't even play that one all that much. Simplicity and accessibility are things I enjoy when it comes to controls, and I think EA has done a good job on that. There are some things I do like, like the scrums and jostling during faceoffs, which I think are well implemented, and I'm assuming there is still scrums along the boards though I haven't been able to pull one of those off yet. Also, I hate that fucking cinematic camera. Throws me off so much and makes it hard to play good positional hockey.
  6. Speaking of Neil Young, he's touring in the fall and Death Cab is opening for some dates.
  7. The offensive skill stick from 07/08 is FANTASTIC. I could never ever ever shoot with face buttons in a hockey game ever again.
  8. I lol'd at that whole page.
  9. I'm almost positive that it hasn't been played live.
  10. Just finished watching the Machine Girl. Holy fuck. What a lolfest.
  11. Oh, but they have. But because it isn't entirely popular in North America, the odds of it seeing a North American release is probably pretty slim.
  12. There are no official details regarding the physical release, we are all just speculating. I really think the 2 disc release will be the concert split up onto two discs. Seeing as CDs can only actually store about 79 minutes of music before you run into difficulties (read about Metallica's Load album and how they had to cut parts of songs to fit them all on the record), it makes the most sense to split up a 2 hourish concert onto the two discs. I don't think you'll see any acoustic extras on the physical release, as Matt has said that if he does an acoustic EP that it will likely be an iTunes exclusive.
  13. Given the support that Apple has given Matt in bringing his back catalogue to the US iTunes store, I'd say it's a good bet the live album will show up there as well.
  14. It's probably the concert split up into two discs, because from what I read of it here on the Bored, it was about 2 hours long.
  15. Another thing to take into consideration is the EA Sports Hockey League, easily the most revolutionary online feature in any sports game up until now.
  16. I'll be picking up NHL 09. The skill stick introduced in EA's 07 is the best thing that has happened to hockey video games, and the fact that you'll be able to use it on defence now makes me giddy. While there are some things I'd like to see from the 2K series (though, I haven't played a 2K game since 06, so things may have changed), like puck scrums along the boards, I've always had the most FUN with EA hockey games, and in the end, that's what's more important to me, not whether it's the most realistic game of hockey out there.
  17. the only Radiohead album I own is OK Computer- nothing else of theirs has tickled my fancy. LOTR are good films, but the fucking books dragged on and on and made me want to shoot things. Scrubs is probably one of my favorite TV shows ever, even though it has diminished in quality since the end of Season 4. I guess my "outsider" thing is that I am a gamer that has not gotten into online gaming at all.
  18. And to add to what Crusader said, they're just demos, not finished products, and Matt has very graciously posted them on the website to give us, his fans, an insight into what's going on musically in his head and how the creative process works with him. How many artists and bands can you say give THAT sort of oppurtunity to their fans? Not many. And while Matt is under no illusions- he knows that the songs when they're posted will be ripped and will be sent around the internet, I don't think it's asking much of the fan community and this website not to host the files so everyone can get to them.
  19. Are the full demo lyrics for Silent Army gunna go up any time soon? ;)
  20. I was not surprised at all when I read it was Westboro Baptist.
  21. To a place where everything is unsaid?
  22. And it's up AGAIN: Dam Broke
  23. I didn't like him at all in the last film, but then again, they didn't have a whole lot of good material to work with. George Lucas is brilliant as a visionary, but as a screenwriter, he just can't do it.
