And today I bought Lost in Translation (FINALLY), Captivity (even though it is horrible) and Children of Men.

Recently purchased Juno, There Will be Blood and Waiting for Guffman.

Watched There Will be Blood last week. Daniel Day Lewis is incredible in it. Watched Cloverfield today, thought it was intense. Also watched Jarhead today, it makes me laugh a lot even though it probably shouldn't. Now watching Juno for the second time this week, love it.

I'm seeing him in Edmonton at a theater, and Calgary at a festival, I'll survive.

At the 2000 show, I was kinda right in the middle of the pack and it wasn't bad, and 2003 I was near the exit for the skyride. Remember how awesome Running for Home was in 2000, while the sun was setting? Yeah, pretty much perfect. The rain at folkfest didn't bug me too much. Also, it appears if you go to futureshop.ca there are a limited quantity of single day tickets available.

I've seen Matt play twice at the Calgary Stampede- once during the Beautiful Midnight era, and once after Avalance was released, and both times, at least from where I was situated, the crowd was very respectful to both the band and the people around them.

I liked the singles I'd heard, but seeing him live actually turned me off of him. Did not enjoy the performance at all.

Like album bios or something? I'd be down.

I'm disappointed with the announcement as well, mostly because I WILL be in Edmonton the day before to see him, and then I'll have to get back into Calgary and go straight to Virgin to see him by the looks of things. I'm still going to go, but I'd rather have a nice sit down theater show. Oh well, what can ya do? Looking at the lineup and seeing Stars playing makes me really happy, and depending on when they play, I'd see City and Colour and the Hip.

Another thing to realize is that a lot of people don't consider Canadian bands successful unless they manage to break through in the US and have some decent success there, and that seems to be the trend in Juno award winners as well.

Wait, people WATCHED the Junos? I figured everyone would find a better way to lie to themselves for 3 hours.
