Bands With Staying Power?
CaptainRocket replied to sodamntired's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
Ugh, Dishwalla. Okay, this is true, I mean I saw both Trooper and Loverboy within a month of each other last year. But they aren't making new music, so it's hard to call them working bands, they're just cashing in on old hits. Green Day at least is still recording and staying in people's ears. -
If Matt doesn't think it's cool, then I clearly don't understand him. Or anyone.

Well, sure. We can just leave raw meat all over the place. It's our calling card.

Bands With Staying Power?
CaptainRocket replied to sodamntired's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
Realize that bands can stay together even though they are out of creative juice. I don't mind if bands break up since most of the time you can see it coming and they were starting to sound like shit anyway. I do think it would be hilarious if FOB becomes a decades spanning career band. Just to spite you, Chris. -
what if i photographed my pink elephant on a stretcher? i would call that striking. Okay, we should do that and then just send our alternate album art/tracklist to Matt with a little note that says "do this instead - love fans"
-
It would be cool if the drawings were a part of it, but I see them as more liner notes material. The cover needs to be something a little more striking (and, like, not done in a notebook while in a haze of meds).

The Perfect Album(s)
CaptainRocket replied to HoboFactory's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
Pavement's "Slanted and Enchanted" is pretty perfect for me. Wilco's "A Ghsot is Born" maybe, but it all depends on my mood. There is almost no album that is perfect for every single moment of my life, just really good ones I can fall back on if need be. -
Elephant Hospital it is.

I was just guessing according to this.

So...it's called Hospital Music then? I likes it.

Dead Meat is pretty good, but his first album from like '98 I think is a little more enjoyable. Still light though. -
Bye Bye Audioslave?

It's like waking up from an awful nightmare...Audioslave is dead. Thank god. -

Turner did leave after Spiritual Machines, Gravity was the first one with the new guy. PS - Bob Rock is Satan. -
I remember when I first started playing guitar I brought Fated in to learn. Upon hearing the chorus, my guitar teacher said: "Wow, happy guy." Anyways, that was a good one to learn. Pretty easy.

I would like something new though, instead of a new version of an old song. Still pumped though!
