  1. Extremely psyched for this, I'm just hoping he'll remember the Cayuga 2002 version of Strange Days with the really laid back beat and bring that back. Shoulda made the EP...
  2. I would adore to see Ryan in Matt's band permanently, though I doubt that'll happen without Meg, and since Milos is still there, seems like a long shot. I'd love to see Matt, Ryan, Meg, and Pat, plus some keyboard player. 90s Can-Rock supergroup!
  3. It's interesting because when Matt ditched Christian, Rich, and Pat for Stu, Milos, and Blake, he said that outfit had run it's creative course, and he was talking about new takes on songs, which the 02-05 lineup was great at (Giant/Symbolistic White Walls, Load Me Up/X-Wing, Pledge, Near Fantastica). Not only did we not hear much of that with this lineup (except Apparitions and Empty's, which were awesome), but he even reverted to album versions of Load Me Up, Hello Timebomb, and Future Is X-Rated (slow version ftw!). So I'm very curious to hear what a new lineup will have in store, especially with the direction Matt took on this record.
  4. Anyone else catch the Simpsons reference?
  5. Didn't mean to kill the thread, let's do this for real here!
  6. I've got every circulating bootleg at the ready, and a setlist archive of the 10 MG shows I've seen since 2003. This weekend I can type it up in Word or Excel or whatever you like.
  7. And In Closing - Message To God Broken - Whispering In The Dark Left Of Normal - Waiting For The Great Destruction (honourable mention: As Long As You're Mine) Euphony - Euphony 15 Hours - The Bombmaker (first three songs are just fantastic) LOTGA - Native Son Raygun - Generation X-Wing Underdogs - Everything Is Automatic (very very tough) Lo-Fi B-Sides - Enjoy The Silence (hate DM, love DM covers) Beautiful Midnight - Suburbia Loser Anthems - My Life As A Circus Clown Audio Of Being - The Rat Who Would Be King Avalanche - Near Fantastica (live) WLRRR - Little Terror In A Coma - Oh Be Joyful (also not a big fan of studio Big City Life compared to live) Hospital Music - I'm A Window Live At Massey Hall - Champions Of Nothing Vancouver - On Nights Like Tonight Other - Breath Of A Nation (honourable mention: If I Was A Tidal Wave)
  8. Between the bootlegs we have, posts on these boards, and physical setlists and memories of people here, we could compile a pretty good post 2005 list anyway. I have 5 or 6 setlists from Kingston and Montreal shows kickin I could type up
  9. I'm in, I have a feeling it will be worth it. Matt Good doesn't seem like the kind to take your money and give nothing that's worth a damn in return.
  10. Yes, many thanks for the upload. Very very interesting... at least Magician is.
  11. Like most I assume, I'll be putting on LOTGA/Raygun/Underdogs today. RIP.
  12. My ideal Greatest Hits/Best Of/whatever you wanna call it CD would be as such: Disc 1: 1. Giant (live post 2003 version) 2. Symbolistic White Walls (live post 2003) 3. Carmelina 4. Load Me Up (live post 2003 version) 5. Generation X-Wing (live post 2003 version) 6. Everything Is Automatic 7. Strange Days (live Cayuga version) 8. Alabama Motel Room 9. Under The Influence (live post 2003 version) 10. The Future Is X-Rated (live 2003 slow version) 11. Rico 12. Hello Time Bomb (live post 2003 version) 13. Indestructible 14. Anti-Pop 15. Apparitions (solo acoustic) rarities 16. Born To Kill (Lo-Fi B-Sides version) 17. Enjoy The Silence 18. Fated 19. Pony Boy 20. All Together -julz
  13. Unfortunately, no shows where The Workers was played were bootlegged. -julz
  14. That new band is called Clic. -julz
  15. Slow FXR was played from 2002 on, when he got the new band, until it was dropped from the setlist for the second Avalanche tour. The POYL tour saw the return of the album version of FXR, though only up to the bridge, where it goes into POYL. -julz
  16. Because they're all from different shows, and 2 of them are personalized to me. -julz
  17. Cayuga is the other 2002 bootleg out with AoB songs on it. It has Under The Influence, Tripoli, and Advertising On Police Cars. It's mostly MGB stuff (including the slow FXR), but Pat, Christian, and Mark Olexson are playing. The only new (at the time) songs are Weapon and 4 Minute Mile. -julz
  18. Setlist ------- Apparitions Weapon Everything Is Automatic Alert Status Red North American For Life The Rat Who Would Be King The Future Is X-Rated Put Out Your Lights Poor Man's Grey In Love With A Bad Idea Hello Timebomb Blue Skies Over Badlands -------- Load Me Up Carmelina It's Been Awhile Empty Road Completed my trifecta of signed setlists, but I got Rich and Christian on this one instead of Matt. -julz
  19. No, no special tour-ending things, maybe in Kingston, since that's the real end of the tour. About Rich's hair: "Not in front of civilians" -julz
  20. From my signed setlist: Blue Skies Giant Weapon Alert Status Red North American Little Terror Rat Future Is X-Rated Put Out Your Lights Poor Man's Grey Bad Idea Timebomb --------- Apparitions Load Me Up/Carmelina Empty Road Can't Get Shot ---------- Aur Der Maur was awesome, she is sex personified on stage. I might just have to buy her CD. Instead of Limblifter, we got some local Mtl band I didn't know. They were alright, nothing special, and one of the guitarists was having major tech issues. Pretty standard MG show, he rocked out pretty hard during the first 2 songs. Rich seemed kind of out-of-it at first, but he livened up soon. Pat and Christian were their normal selves. During the break in North American where they used to jam out, Matt pulled out some papers with drawings on them and gave us an idiot's guide to Afghanistan. Funny shit, in a sad kinda way. He dedicated ASR to John Ashcroft, and likened him to a real estate agent ("If he can sell bullshit at a federal level, well, the sky's the limit"). There was a pineapple and a bottle of wine beside Rich's amp, and when they left the stage, Pat carried the pineapple off. I dunno what the deal was with that. After-show, I picked up a setlist from a roadie, and headed to the back where the buses were, hung out with randoms, and then bouncer dude told us to form a line and Matt would sign our shit, so we all went in one at a time and met Matt. I told him I'd see him in 4 days in Kingston...I guess in retrospect that sounds kinda stalker-ish, but oh well. In closing, my ears are still ringing. -julz
  21. My band has done tons of MGB songs at our practices: Alabama Motel Room Symbolistic White Walls Native Son Haven't Slept In Years Everything Is Automatic Apparitions Rico Load Me Up The Future Is X-Rated Carmelina Put Out Your Lights but the only one we've done live so far is HSIY (acoustic). -julz
  22. I'm slowly but surely working through all MG/B songs for my upcoming tabs page, but haven't gotten to All Together yet...sometime, though. -julz
  23. For the record, Dave Genn has co-writing credits on the music for every song on Underdogs and Beautiful Midnight (except Prime Time and Inescapable Us), 3 songs off AoB (Tripoli, Fall Of Man, Under The Influence), and some of the EP songs. -julz
  24. I see some space between the Ottawa and London dates. I hope he forgives the stupid-ass Kingston crowds and sticks a K-Town date in there for me. -julz
  25. SWW wasn't on Raygun. You're thinking of Alabama Motel Room. The version on Raygun is exactly the same as the LOTGA version. Haven't Slept In Years, however, is a new recording, faster tempo, different bass fills, Genn's organ replaced with guitar, and an extended lead part before Verse 2. -julz
